Woo Hoo! Presents From My Secret Santa!!

December 6, 2013

Tis a bit gray and damp this morning.  The temps are warm (56F) but we are expecting rain most of the day.  At the moment though, the rain is not here yet and the workmen are outside busy at work on the house.

It looks like I've hired me a "handy around the house" man.   Yesterday he was going to be scraping some loose paint off the back of the house, but because it was beginning to rain a bit, he came inside and did some housework for me.  Oh my, now this is the life.  It was not difficult having a handsome young man in to do the vacuuming and dusting for me.  In fact it was quite nice.

I had given some serious thought to buying a Roomba to do the vacuuming, but decided against it.  I don't think Pogo would like it, and you still have to clean all the corners, etc.  Trust me, it is definitely better to have a handsome handy man.

On Wednesday, I got a package delivered to me from Amazon.  Upon opening it, I found that it was stuff that I did not order.  I was quite confused, and called Amazon.  You know, some days my brain forgets to come back from whatever vacation it is on.  After about fifteen minutes on the phone, we decided that this must be a gift from my Secret Santa.

I have to tell you that the contents of the package are just wonderful.  I got a 2014 wall calendar called "Just Yorkies".   This is just awesome.  Here's a shot of the front and back covers.

Also in the package was an absolutely adorable "Kissing Yorkies" salt and pepper set.  Gosh, I've never seen these before.  Aren't they just the sweetest little things?

Then, yesterday there was another little package in the mail.  Inside was a beautiful hand made snowflake ornament, and a note saying that this, too, was from my Secret Santa.  I placed the little bag on an envelope so that it would show up better in a photo.  Isn't the little snowman face in the middle just too cute?

Gosh, I just love my presents.   I haven't figured out yet who my Secret Santa is, but thank you, thank you for these wonderful gifts.  Now I can't  wait to get my tree up and put these gifts under it.  I will have to ask Joe to get the Christmas stuff out of the closet in the den.  It is definitely time for us to get it all set up.  I like to be able to enjoy the Christmas tree for a whole month.

Tonight, I'm hoping to go shopping with one of the dwarfs and maybe finish my Christmas shopping.  I don't have a lot left to do, but I can't finish my last mailer box until I pick up a couple more things.  Soon, all my cards will have been mailed too.  I've been putting a few at a time out in the mailbox.

Enough of my chatter. It's time to get dressed and find some mischief to keep me busy.  Till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Your Secret Santa presents are lovely!
Yes, the pepper and salt couple is adorable, but I like the snowflake element too a lot!
And you are lucky with the "handy man"who doesn;t want to loose time, when he cannot work outside, but offers you some help IN the house. You should try to keep him for a longer time LOL!
Jan and I started yesterday putting up all the Christmas stuff. The tree is done, some of the ceiling lights are back at the ceiling(still today the rest should be done of that), pfff, it always takes more time than you think, but oh how cosy it already looks now!
So today we will try to get the rest done, perhaps we will also need a part of tomorrow to get all done, but hey, we don;t have to hold on to a strict schedule, which is nice.
And yes, it is quite some work, so we want to enjoy all the decoration also for a whole month!
Have a wonderful day.
Hug
Kyra
