Lot's Of Goodies Coming Tomorrow!

November 30, 2010,
*
Gosh, today is the last day of November. It boggles my mind how quickly time goes by. Ah well, I suppose another way to look at that is that there are only 110 days till Spring. I think like that better.
*
It's not quite 5:30 am, and I'm still at work. Mrs. is sleeping soundly, so I am catching up on some PC stuff before it is time to go home. Tootsie and I have a busy day today. She has two chemo appointments today, and in between we need to go to the post office. I never made it there yesterday.
*
In between tomorrow's chemo appointments, we have the cable TV repairman coming to the house to find out why the remote control is not behaving the way it should. I don't know what is wrong with it, but it is very touchy. When you go to change a channel or the volume, the whole set shuts down and then it takes a while to figure out how to get it all back on. This is not fun for me as I am a bit technically challenged. I like to press a button and have everything work the way it should.
*
Sometime today, I am hoping to try out a Digital Macro Filter. ( on my camera of course!) Speaking of cameras, I haven't used mine the last couple of days so today I thought I would bring a touch of Springtime into your home an mine with a really pretty photo that Audrey took a few months ago. Nothing says Spring like tulips. This should brighten your day. Enjoy.
*

Now, isn't that like a breath of fresh air? I thought so. Tulips are so cheerful, and these are particularly pretty. Audrey, send me more photos!!!!!!
*
Folks, tomorrow is December 1, and that means that I will have a brand new blog train for you. This one is filled with lots and lots of goodies to scrap your holiday photos. And of course, I will be posting my part for you. This is a huge train, and please remember to leave a thank you as you download each of the contributions.
*
Now I want to do a bit of blog hopping before I go home. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantastic day.

So Lost Without My Internet!

November 29, 2010,
*
Good morning. This won't be a very long post because I have a lot to do today. My internet went out late yesterday afternoon, and I just now got it back. So that explains why I've been feeling so frazzled. Until we lose the internet, we don't realize how dependent we are on it. But it is back on now, and I'm feeling much happier.
*
Tonight is a work night. My friend needed the night off, so we switched nights. There is a bit of laundry to catch up with, and a box to get ready for mailing. Last night, I took everything out of my "gift drawer" and made a list of what is there so that I know what I have left to shop for.
*
Today I need to run out to the post office to buy some more stamps and get that box in the mail. Maybe while I'm out, I can stop by a car dealership to see what they have for cars. There are so many to pick from that it gets quite mind boggling after a while. I saw one that I really like and it gets fantastic gas mileage. And it comes in lime green which I also like. But my daughter Audrey says she won't be seen riding in it with me if I buy the lime green one. Oh well, too bad Harry!
*
Today, I have a couple more of Audrey's photos to share. These are of a gorgeous peahen. (I think that's what you call them) The blue coloring on these birds is absolutely beautiful.
*
Now I really must get busy. My daughter Dee Dee is on her way over here, and I need to get dressed quickly. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantastic day.

Gotta Have Those Pillows!!!

November 28, 2010,
*
Good morning. The shopping channel is still on, and I managed to find one more Christmas gift to buy (yesterday afternoon). That's all. It would have been nice to find more, then I would not have to go out to the stores at all. I'm not big into crowds anymore.
*
I even addressed a few more cards last night. Then I decided to change over to Christmas music for my blog. That took a couple of hours, and then I thought why not change the slide show too. By the time I finished both of these projects, I looked at the clock and OH MY!! It was already 2 am. How time flies when you're having fun!
*
I did not get any new photos yesterday, but I do have some of Miss Audrey's photos to share with you. I find it really exciting and fun when your family and friends enjoy the same hobbies as you do. Have a look at these fun photos. This bird had to think about whether or not it wanted to pose for the camera.
*

Now I must get moving here. It's time to give Tootsie her morning meds. And I want to look at the Sunday circulars for deals on new cars. I really would like to get a new car soon before the really bad weather sets in. The prices are a bit horrendous, but I'll just have to shop around till I get the best deal.
*
Before I go, I must tell you about the pillows that are being offered on the shopping channel right now. They are micropedic sleep pillows and they are priced at: Set of 2 standard size pillows for $80.00, and set of 2 Jumbo pillows for $120.00. And these are SALE PRICES!!! I don't know about you, but I think we all should order a few!!! LOL.
*
I'm off now. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Only Four Weeks Till Christmas!

November 27, 2010
*
Good morning! Did I sleep like a log last night? Almost! Tootsie and I got comfy and settled in to watch some TV, and that's all she wrote! Right to sleep! A couple times during the evening and night, I awoke and got up for about an hour, then right back to sleep. Poor Tootsie. She's not getting much play time here. Come Monday, I'll make up for that.
*
I was very good yesterday with the shopping channel on most all day. I did not buy anything else! Of course, that means that I still have lots of shopping to do. Ah well, today is another day! This morning they are featuring some makeup products that get rid of one's wrinkles and old looking skin. Hmmm!
*
Tonight, I think I will try to finish up addressing all of my cards. Gosh, so much to do, so little time! Christmas is only four weeks away. Where has this past year gone? I did not get to finish everything I wanted to do this past year, but I did make a good dent. Hopefully, I can finish up some of my projects in the new year. Especially the yard work.
*
This morning I have a couple of photos to share that I took yesterday. The Mrs. had an absolutely gorgeous flower arrangement on the dining room table, and I just had to take a few photos. It was made up of reddish orange lilies and peachy orange roses. Just beautiful! Have a lookee here. Are these not just beautiful?
*

Now I think it's time for me to get dressed and rustle up some lunch for Tootsie and me. Tonight is a work night, so I need to get a few things done around here. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.
*

Big Shopping Day Today!

November 26, 2010
*
It's 5 am, and I've been up for hours. Sad to say, I had me a lovely nap last evening, and that kind of wrecked any thoughts of sleeping through the night. You'd think I'd learn!
*
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. I most certainly did. Three of the dwarfs, Miss Tootsie, and me of course, had a feast with baked ham and lasagna, and assorted nibbles. (Olives, cranberry sauce, biscuits, etc.) This was followed up with apple crumb pie. Mmm, Mmm, Mmm.
*
In between the cooking, I was able to watch a lot of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade on television, and some great shopping on HSN (one of the shopping channels). There were so many fantastic buys, I had to contain myself from buying all the goodies. lol. However, this is certainly a great way to do a lot of your holiday shopping.
*
Snowy had a bit of good news yesterday. Erik was awake, and able to hear CeCe (his son's mother) speaking to him and he watched a bit of TV. He still has a long row ahead of him. There is still some bleeding in the brain, and his right side is paralyzed. He will be needing a lot of physical therapy in the coming months.
*
I have to get ready for work shortly, so I'll be finishing this post a bit later.
***
I'm at work now, and yes, I have the shopping channel on TV on here too. At least while the Mrs. is asleep. Gosh, it wouldn't do to miss out on any fantastic shopping values, now would it! Everyone else is out among the crowds at the stores scooping up some really wonderful values. I just don't have it in me to fight the crowds. The last time I got up early to wait in line at a store for the early bird specials, I almost got trampled. To make matters worse, it was raining (like today) and I got soaked too. Now I sit in front of my TV and watch the sales on the shopping channel.
*
Today I have a couple of sea gull photos to share with you. These were taken last month. I know some folks think that these birds are pesky, but I think they are just beautiful. Their faces are so expressive. This first photo shows a beautiful wing spread. The gull is looking over the goodies in the dumpster, trying to decide which one to eat first.
*
And this next little fellow is just a cutie. We were tossing french fries out to the birds, and this little kid was watching to see if one was coming his way. I love the expression on his (or her) face.
*
Now I must stop playing and start working. Mrs. will be waking shortly and wanting her breakfast. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a marvelous day.
*
Hugs, Edna B.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY

November 25, 2010
*
Good morning, and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, whether you celebrate it or not. Today is a day set aside to give thanks for all that we have. Even though I do my share of complaining, I have so very much to be thankful for. I have been blessed with a wonderful family, fantastic friends, and a fantabulous little dog. I have a roof over my head, and food to eat. Thank you God, for all my blessings.
*
Today's post will be short because there's lots of cooking to do, and most of you are very busy too. Television today will be filled with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and lots of football. I'll watch the parade, but I can do without the football. Oh my, did I say that? Yes'm, I did. Sorry to say, I am not a great football fan. I would rather watch baseball.
*
I have a photo to share with you this morning that I took this past October 3rd, at night on my way to work. Of course, now the sky would be totally black, but on that night the sky was gorgeous shades of red, coral and blue. This is another thing that I am thankful for. That I have the sight to see such beauty.
*
I will leave you now to your dinner preparations, and your friends and family. I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. Travel safely. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Up Early, And Raring To Go!

November 24, 2010
*
Good morning! Tootsie and I have been up since 4 am. Aside from making us some scrambled eggs, I've managed to get two loads of wash done and taken out one bag of trash. I am running out of steam though. A mid-morning nap is starting to sound very good!
*
I went food shopping yesterday and bought a nice ham to cook tomorrow. The dwarfs have decided on lasagna to go with the ham. However, Kyra your recipe sounds really yummy and easy, so I will be trying it soon.
*
I've been watching the finalists from "Dancing With The Stars" on the television this morning. They all have done a fantastic job. There's also an adorable animated turkey gobbling all over the weather map on the TV. I think he's telling everyone to have ham for dinner tomorrow. lol.
*
There's not much news today, so I'll share a rather interesting photo that Audrey took earlier in the year. It's a great big gorgeous butterfly elephant. The whole thing is made with butterfly shapes fitted together. AMAZING!!!
*

And here is a close up so that you can see the intricate workmanship. I think it's just awesome!
*
Now I think I will either address a few more cards, or talk Miss Tootsie into going in for a nap. Hmmm. I wonder if she'll go for the nap? Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantastic day.

Lots To Do Today

November 23, 2010
*
It's a cool, sunny morning here in New England. Well, sort of sunny. Every now and then the sun peeks out from behind the clouds. Today will be a busy day for lots of folks, including moi. Besides laundry, I have a bit of shopping to do.
*
I've asked what the dwarfs do and don't like for Thanksgiving dinner, and I guess it's decided that we will most likely have a ham. I'm not sure yet what will go with it, but I still have time to decide. Maybe I'll make a pan of lasagna. I haven't decided.
*
I didn't do much in the way of designing last night. Mostly Miss Tootsie and I just rested up a lot. Maybe today, I can address some more holiday cards too. It's not so easy to get in the holiday mood these days. It's just not the same without Mr. B. and Uncle Moo, and Miss Tootsie doesn't really get excited about it.
*
For today's photo, I have one that I took in Florida last March. I think this is a cowbird, but I'm not sure. It could also be a rusty blackbird. It's hard to tell in my bird books. If any of you knows for sure, please let me know. Anyway, this little bird was very busy looking for good stuff to use to build her nest.
*
Now I think it's time for me to get dressed and start in on some of my errands. They won't get done just by thinking about them. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.
*

Last Parts Of "All Aboard"

November 22, 2010
*
Good morning. It's still a bit gray outside, but I'm home now, so it's a good day. I have so much to do this week. First, I have to make a list and then do the food shopping for Thursday's dinner. Then I have a bit of housework to catch up on. Ugh!! Then it's off to the post office to mail a package. After that, it's breathing time again.
*
Sometime today, Snowy will be boarding a plane to return home to England. Vacations always seem to end too soon. Have a good flight home Snowy. I'm making some plans too. Only for one night, but it will be such a fun night. My daughter Dee Dee has invited me to go to Boston with her and Jasmine to see the Rockettes perform. I have been wanting to do that since I was very young, and just never got around to it. So that will be something nice to look forward to.
*
Friends of mine are going to be spending the Thanksgiving holiday in New York, where they will be seeing the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade up close and in person. Wow!! What a great way to spend the holiday. That's something I might want to try one of these years.
*
It's time to post the final links to the "All Aboard" kit, and get started on my day here. Su and I had a grand time putting this kit together, an we hope you are enjoying it.
*

And here are my last two links for "All Aboard."

Once you're finished downloading these files, make sure to visit Miss Su's blog for her last links.

That's all for today folks. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a marvelous day.

It's Almost Thanksgivng Day.

November 21, 2010
*
Do you believe? It's only a few days till Thanksgiving Day!! This is a big day for families getting together to enjoy a wonderful meal and to give thanks for all their blessings. If you have no family, you might want to think about sharing a dinner with an elderly person who is alone, or maybe a neighbor or a homeless person. Anyone at all who is in need of help will be a wonderful choice, and you will feel so good about yourself.
*
For so many years, my brother was in charge of cooking our holiday feasts. Anyone who had no where to go was welcome at our table. This year I will be doing the cooking (like in the olden days!), and probably three of the dwarfs will be at home here for dinner. So tomorrow, I will go shopping for a turkey and all the fixings.
*
Last night, I addressed some of my Christmas cards. It will be a good feeling if I can get them all ready for the mail before December. I also worked a bit on the December collab kit. You're going to love this one. It is just so pretty!! Miss Su picked out the colors and theme, and it's really quite a lovely and very different holiday kit.
*
The only photo I have this morning is one I took of the moon last night on my way to work. What a big round awesome moon!!! It was so bright that it lit up even the darkest parts of the roads. I pulled into the Shaw's parking lot to take a few photos. This gorgeous huge moon was just sitting right up over my head in an inky black sky. It almost seemed as though you could reach up and touch it. Here's what it looked like. Is this not beautiful???
*

Now I think I'll finish my coffee, give Miss Tootsie her morning meds, and then perhaps she and I will have ourselves a nice nap. Maybe we'll even have a really early lunch. This way, I can sleep through for a few hours..
*
Hopefully, tonight, I can finish up another scrap project. Then I can focus on my holiday shopping. Don't forget, tomorrow morning Miss Su and I will be posting the last few parts of the "All Aboard" kit. We really hope you're enjoying it. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Nice Surprises In The Mail

November 20, 2010
*
It's breezy and brisk outside this morning. And I think I'll just leave it out there. Last night was not a good sleeping night, so I think Miss Tootsie and I will have ourselves a little nap right after lunch today. Tonight is a work night, and I like to be bright eyed and bushy tailed when I go to work.
*
I got a lovely surprise in the mail yesterday. A box arrived containing my new Christmas cards, and my 2011 calendars. O-o-o-oh, they are so nice!!! I am quite pleased with how they came out, and the Vista printing company did a great job. I've been using them for a few years now, and I'm quite satisfied with their work.
*
Also yesterday, I was able to finish up one of my projects. The kit for the December GI blog train is all set to be packaged up now. Tonight I will try to finish up our collab December kit. After that, I want to re-type my address list so that I can write out all my holiday cards.
*
I am running out of November so now I have to get serious about making sure all my holiday shopping is finished up and ready for mailing in the next couple of weeks. Folks, a whole year has just sneaked right on by and kept on running. In a few weeks, it will be a brand new year. I'm still trying to figure out where it all went.
*
Today I have a couple of new photos to share. This first one was taken at work yesterday. The Mrs. has this little rose bush that is doing it's darnedest to keep hanging on. Even though the blooms are small, and frost bitten around the edges, I find it quite pretty.
*

On my way home, I had to stop at Costco to pick up our prescriptions. It was still daylight, and the moon was just hanging there in the sky so big and bright. This is one of the photos that I took of it.
*
Seeing as how I got up so late this morning, I think perhaps I need to check out what is for lunch. It's already after 11 am, and my little girl is giving me that "feed me" look. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Oh Yes, Yes, Yes!!!

November 19, 2010
*
Oh yes yes! Something is working. I don't know what it is, but I can dig it!! My pants have been quite loose for a while now, and yesterday I had to dig around to find an old pair of jeans that were a size smaller. AND THEY FIT!!!!! So of course, last night I had to go out and buy a couple pair of new jeans a size SMALLER!!
*
Even though I am still short and plump and dumpyish, with my new jeans I feel cute and slim and full of energy. Yes, I know, it's all in my head, but for a day or so it will feel so good. Now if I can just get whatever it is to keep on working, oh my! By Spring, I will be svelte! (No, I'm not smoking or inhaling anything funny.)
*
This morning, I am at work, but the Mrs. is still asleep. Hence, I get to post my blog. I really need to get back into designing. Although my hard drive is getting quite full of good stuff, I've been spending some time moving a lot of stuff onto disks. So that is what I have been doing lately. But now, I have some kits and projects that need to be finished.
*
I also want to get out to shoot some new photos, and try out that telescope that I got for my camera a while back. I was so hoping to do that this week, but life seems to have a mind of it's own and I don't get out like I would like to. I was hoping to drive over to Easton and have a visit with Snowy, but I haven't had a chance to do that either. Although yesterday I did have another telephone chat with her.
*
I did go outdoors yesterday and take a couple of photos of the new fence to share with you. We still have the back to do, and a small section in the front but it is looking quite good. In my mind, I can already picture green grass and flowers. Oh, now I can't wait for Spring. 121 more days!! In this first photo, you can see where the back section is still waiting to be replaced. I'm thinking that we might just take it down and leave it down. That is not the end of the yard, so I am undecided so far.
*

This next photo shows the small part in the front that still needs to be finished. I think we'll use shorter fencing in this area, so that we can still see the whole road when we are pulling out of the driveway.
*
Now, I must get busy. The Mrs. has awakened and will be wanting some breakfast soon. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantastic day.
*

Gorgeous Sunshine This Morning

November 18, 2010
*
Tis a beautiful sunny morning here in New England, and it's quite breezy. But at least it's not too cold. Yesterday started out quite gray and wet, but by mid morning the sun came out and warmed everything up nicely.
*
Eddie and Bobby were able to come back and almost finish the new fence. All that's left to do is a couple of sections at the front and replacing a couple of sections in the backyard. It's looking very nice. Come Spring, it's going to look even better when I see green grass and colorful blossoms by it.
*
Late yesterday afternoon, I called Snowy for an update on Erik, and to see how she was managing. The only news on Erik is that he is stable at the moment, but still in the induced coma. As for Snowy, she's been getting a lot of designing done. Still, it must be difficult for her, not knowing what will be happening with Erik, and having to go home this coming Monday.
*
Today, I have a couple of errands to do (hopefully), and I'm waiting for the cable man to come and replace a couple of my cable boxes so that my TV reception will be better. In between, I need to do the laundry. I also want to get outside later and get photos of the new fence.
*
I have a few new photos from yesterday to share with you this morning. This first one shows a brand new little Red Japanese Maple tree looking quite healthy. Actually, there are a few of these on the other side of my shed. You can see from the leaves, that the wind is quite brisk.
*

This next photo shows what's left of all the beautiful scarlet red leaves on the parent tree. The wind has been blowing and there's only a handful of leaves still clinging to the branches.
*
Even the flag over our front door was dancing away in the breeze. To me, that's a beautiful sight - our flag waving gracefully in the breeze. Can you tell we're sort of patriotic here?
*
Now I need to get busy here. I have lots to do today before I run out of steam. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

It's A Rainy Gray New England Morning

November 17, 2010
*
My goodness, the rains did finally get here. It's gray, wet and windy outside this morning. Not the best day for the rain to get here. Eddie and Bobby were able to put up half of my fence yesterday, and we were hoping to finish it today. If we get a break in the weather later, I'll take my camera out and get some photos of the new fence.
*
You know, I was busy all day yesterday, and I don't seem to have anything to show for it. I made a lot of important calls, paid bills, worked on one blog book, washed dishes, and made up my card list. Doesn't seem like much, huh?
*
I don't have any more news about Erik's condition. About all Snowy has said is that there is no change yet. Maybe that will be good news. Sometimes when the body sleeps, it heals. I just hope that Snowy is able to spend some more time with him before she has to go back home.
*
Today, Miss Tootsie and I do have to go out in this wet stuff. Tootsie has a doctor appointment this afternoon for a checkup to see if the new medicine is helping. And I probably should stop at a store and pick up fresh milk and some more doggie food. Getting out to do errands is not so easy anymore. I have to wait until someone is here to stay with Tootsie. Ah well, as long as I have deli meat, Tootsie won't miss the doggie food.
*
Today's photo is one of our little resident woodpecker. He is starting to get used to us, I think. He won't fly away until we get within a few feet from his feeder. Instead, he hangs on to the feeder and watches us. The beautiful color in background is what is left of the color on my Japanese Red Maple Tree.
*
I think it's time now for me to get started on my day. I still have a lot of things on my "To Do" list to finish. In between everything, I'm trying still to get Howie setup in a nice nursing home. It will be good to at least get that done soon. Well, I'm off now. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

So Much Work, So Little Time

November 16, 2010
*
Good morning. I'm still waiting on the rain that was supposed to start first on Sunday night, then last night. It would be nice if it would just come and be done with. It's difficult to plan ahead to do work on or around the house when you don't know what the weather will be. A lot of the work is outdoor work.
*
Due to life making so many changes this year, I was not able to get the yard work finished. The fence is still waiting to be put up, and then I wanted to have the trucks of loam brought in for the yard on both sides of the house, followed by the planting of the grass. Granted, a lot of work did get done, but I was so hoping to have the yard finished too. I guess a lot of it will have to wait till Spring. That's includes planting my new bulbs too. Thank goodness I did not buy very many bulbs to plant.
*
So far, the only news that I have about Erik is that he went into surgery late yesterday afternoon, and I have not heard any more. Hopefully, the surgery would ease the pressure on the brain and stop the bleeding, and of course, leave no permanent brain damage. Everyone is praying for him to come through all of this.
*
After enjoying a rather lazy day yesterday, today I really must get a few things done, starting with some laundry. Who knows? I might even toss in some dusting or vacuuming. At some point, I need to go to the post office, and then I should call in our new prescriptions. Actually, I have a whole list here of things that need to be done today. I was just looking it over, and now I'm exhausted. lol.
*
I want to finish up a couple of color challenges this week plus a couple of collab kits for next month. Those are just as much fun as the challenges. Also at the top of my "to do" list, I have to go through my gift drawer to see what I have already gotten, and what I still need to get for the upcoming holidays. A lot of the stuff needs to be ready for the mail in just a few weeks. Yeah, I know, how did the holiday season sneak up on us so quickly?????
*
As I speak, Eddie and Bobby have just pulled up to start putting up my fence. Yeah!! Now we'll listen for the neighbors to start complaining. The guys had to move a lot of the neighbor's junk out of my yard back over to their yard. This will most definitely not make the folks next door happy. Oh well, too bad Harry!! They should have moved it over this summer when I asked them nicely to do so.
*
I don't have any new photos so today I will share one that daughter in law, Janet, took this summer. I thought that the colors and the pattern were quite nice, and I might even use it to make some background designs.
*
Now I think I shall get dressed and start my day here. There is lots to do in so little time. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a marvelous day.
*
Hugs, Edna B.

Beautiful Night Skies

November 15, 2010
*
This morning is very gray, but not cold. What a surprise when I came out this morning to go home, and only needed my sweatshirt jacket. According to the weatherman, it's supposed to be in the 50's for the rest of the week. I can definitely dig it!!
*
According to Snowy's blogpost yesterday, Erik was assaulted at a McDonalds and was taken to the hospital. From what I can gather, his condition is rather serious at the moment. I have tried to find any information in the various local news media, but so far I have found nothing. If I hear anymore, I will keep you posted.
*
On my way to work last night, I was noticing how big and bright the North Star was shining in the night sky. However, I could not pull over to get any photos. When I got to work, the first thing I did was get out my camera and try to get a photo. My best shots were not as sharp as I would have liked because I did not have my tripod with me, but I will share a couple of the photos I did get.
*
This first photo shows a gorgeous aura around the moon, and nearby to the left of course, the North Star. At least I think it's the North Star. As far as I know, it's the brightest star up there in the heavens. If you know different, please let me know.

This next photo is just for interest value. Can you guess what it is? Have a look.
*

Have you figured it out yet? If you guessed "a plane flying overhead," then you guessed right. This is what you get when you try to take hand held photos of moving objects in the dark.
*
At the moment, I'm watching the Ellen Degeneres show on TV. She is such a character and very entertaining. The backdrop on her stage shows some of the gorgeous Fall foliage that we have been enjoying here in New England. Even though it is mid-November, we still have lots of trees showing reds and yellows.
*
Now I think it's time to make a cup of coffee, and give Miss Tootsie her morning meds. Today will be a day for just relaxing. Before I leave you, here's my Parts 3 & 4 of "All Aboard." Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Another Great New Store Has Opened Up

November 14, 2010
*
Br-r-r-r. The sun is peeking over the treetops, but everything is covered with a layer of frost, including my car and all of it's windows. I will have to go out in a few minutes and start the engine and let it run a bit to warm up my car and defrost my windows.
*
Yesterday, my friend Nana (NanaBanana Scraps) opened a brand new store and forum. Oh boy, you just gotta stop by at Digi Scrap Dayz, and check out all the neat stuff. There are all sorts of fantastic sales going on there, and you don't want to miss out on them. You know I was busy there last night shopping for lots of new goodies.
*
OoooKay! I'm home now. I was going to stop at Walmart's on the way home to pick up a few grocery items, but I came right home instead. Miss Tootsie does not go potty all night when I am not home. She waits for me to get home and then proceeds to flood her papers and the pantry. You just gotta love this little girl! I can always go shopping later on.
*
Another funtastic scrap store you might want to check out is Delightful Dollarz. There are some wicked good buys there. Especially if you like Posers, which of course I most certainly do!! Now that I've filled up my hard drive with lots of new resources, I need to get cracking and use them. Hmmmm. Such a nice problem! lol.
*
For today's share photo, I have one that I took at my Dee Dee's last softball game. It was night time so I wasn't able to get many good photos of the game itself, but the photos of these little dogs came out pretty good. They were just so darn cute, and so very well behaved.
*

Now I think I shall enjoy the rest of my coffee, and make myself a shopping list. I may as well get the shopping out of the way while I'm still wide awake. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

An Artsy Fix For A Smudgy Photo

November 13, 2010
*
Tis a beautiful sunny (and warmer) morning here in my little part of New England. Oh wouldn't it be nice if most of the winter weather was like today? I know, keep dreaming!! I suppose I could think of moving to a warmer temperature, but then each different part of the country comes with it's own unique set of problems. I guess the grass just isn't always greener in the next yard.
*
Gosh, I'm sounding a bit philosophical this morning. Hmmm, I wonder what I dreamed about during the night that brought this on. Ah well, moving on, I just spent an hour reading some of my emails, and shopping for new design resources. I don't have a problem shopping for the resources. It's the getting motivated to design part that seems to be causing me bits of grief.
*
Although in all fairness, I managed to make a new QP for the December kit. Would you believe? I am so picky that it took me three hours to make this one QP. I finally scrapped most of it, and made it over in about 15 minutes. Of course, then I had to get permission for one of the elements that I used in it. And I got it, thanks to Miriam Scraps. But you'll have to wait till December to see the QP.
*
This reminds me, don't forget that Miss Su and I will be posting Parts 3 & 4 of "All Aboard" on our blogs this coming Monday. This is really a super kit for scrapping all your favorite guys, and maybe even some of your trips. If you love trains, this is just the kit for you.
*
Today, I have a couple of photos to share. This first photo is of one of the little woodpeckers who visits our feeder every day. These are really beautiful little birds, and as long as I am quiet, they don't mind if I take their picture.
*

Next, I have a "boo boo turned artsy." I got this neat photo of a chickadee flying up to the feeder at work, but the photo came out fuzzy. So I applied the Photoshop watercolor filter to it. Actually, it's not too bad. I think it's interesting, at least.
*
Now I must get a move on. I've lots to do today before it's time to get ready for work again tonight. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a simpy super day.
*

A Gorgeous Morning Here In New England

November 12, 2010
*
It's a beautiful sunny morning, and it's not so cold today. The temperature is supposed to get up in the 50's today. I can dig that!! Tomorrow is supposed to be nice too. After that, it's back to the cold stuff.
*
Yesterday, Mr. Wayne did not show up. He did call though, so I know he was really very busy. He was going to Boston to pick up his best friend at the airport, and he assured me that he would get here as soon as he can.
*
As for accomplishments yesterday, there were none. Aside from washing up my dishes and doing a load of laundry, I didn't do much of anything except read a book and take a couple of naps. Gosh, if I get much more exciting, I won't recognize me. (That's a joke!)
*
So far, Miss Tootsie is doing okay with her new meds, although we'll know for sure once we cut back on the prednisone again. That will probably start next week after her check up. I am so hoping that it all works out good for her. God willing, I am hoping to take her to Florida with me next February.
*
I do have a couple of photos to share this morning. This first photo shows how popular my bird feeder can be sometimes.
*

This next little guy was simply fascinated watching me take his photo. He sat on the hedge for the longest time, probably trying to figure out whether or not I could reach him through the window.
*
Do you remember my friend Mary Ann's photo that I posted a couple of days ago called "God's Paintbrush"? Well, she had entered it into a photography competition, and she took a second place ribbon for it. Congratulations Mary Ann!!
*
Now I really must get going here. I'm at work and the Mrs. will be waking shortly. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a marvelous day.

A Day To Celebrate Our Veterans

November 11, 2010
*
Good morning. I'm hoping the gray clears up and lets the sun peek through long enough for folks to enjoy any parades that may be scheduled for today. Today is Veterans' Day, a day set aside to celebrate all of our veterans, past and present. Both my hubby and my brother were veterans, as well as my son, step-son, and son in law and grandsons. We are a very patriotic family, and love our flag and country.
*
Remember yesterday that I mentioned not hearing from Snowy? Well, not an hour after I had posted my blog, the phone rang. Yup!! It was Snowy telling me what a grand time she has been having nursing her Erik. She said she has plans to come back in late April or early May to help him with his court cases. He is very lucky to have her.
*
She mentioned that her new phone does not work here, and that she has no access to the internet. No one where she is has a computer or internet, I guess. I mentioned to her that the local library there has computers with free access to the internet. She must have gotten a ride to the library because this morning she was able to post on her blog. Nice to have you back in "Blog World" Snowy. Hopefully, in the Spring when she comes back, the weather will be much nicer.
*
I spent most all of yesterday afternoon going through photo archives trying to find possible candidates for my new calendar. It was a long process because a lot of my photos have been put on disks, and it takes much longer for them to open when they are on a disk.
*
I now have a folder full of photos. The next step is to sort through them and decide on the final twelve. You know, I just might get this calendar done this year. I haven't had a chance to get any new photos yet, as I've been busy just trying to catch up on things. I'm hoping to get out one day next week to the park to try out my new camera telescope.
*
I do have a photo to share today. This one was taken last Friday at work. It was quite windy and wet, and this was one of the better shots that I was able to get. This poor little birdie is hanging on for dear life so that the wind doesn't blow him off his branch.
*
Now I must go and get dressed. It's time to give Miss Tootsie her morning meds, and I have a few things to get done before Wayne gets here. He didn't have time Tuesday to finish all the things on my "techie" list, so he's coming by today to finish up. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Another Wet And Breezy Day

November 10, 2010,
*
Oh my, another gray wet morning with a bit of a breeze tossed in for good measure. The other day, the wind was blowing so hard that the barrels were flying around the yard. And yes, Monday morning we DID get some snow. When I went out to go home that morning, everything was wearing a fresh coat of the white stuff. It didn't last very long, but it was a sign of things to come.

Snowy has been here in Massachusetts for two weeks now, and our weather has run the gamut from very warm and sunny to wet, cold and even a bit snowy. I have not seen or heard from her, so I'm assuming that she and Erik are having a really grand visit together. I hope they made it to Salem for Halloween. It's such a fantastic place to be for the holiday.

I got a really nice surprise in my email this morning. Another gift filled with lots of designing goodies from my friend Su. Thank you, thank you Su. I really have no excuse now for not sitting down and getting out some new designs. Guess what I'll be doing later today???

For my photo today, I have one I took before the winds started blowing away all our beautiful colored leaves. There are still lots of trees with leaves, but they are losing them quickly now.
*

Today, I am going to go through my photo archives to find twelve of my best photos. Once I get that done, it shouldn't take me long to get the calendars done. Oh, I think if I can get that done, there is still hope for me that I can finish everything else that needs to be done in the next few weeks.
*
With that thought, I shall get busy now. Janet will be coming this afternoon, and we will have us some nice playtime. We visit, chat, shop and play on the computers. I can't think of a nicer way to spend an afternoon. We'll top it off with a tasty supper together. Mmmm, mmm, mmm, I can already taste that steak!!!
*
Now I 'm off to start chasing down my photos. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Lots Of Energy Today

November 9, 2010
*
Good morning everybody. Gosh, Miss Tootsie and I had ourselves a good sleep yesterday and last night. We were up this morning bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6 am. I even had a burst of energy. Did up some trash, finally tossed out some dried up flowers, washed my dishes. and now I'm on my second cup of coffee.
*
I caught up a bit on my emails, checked out a friend's brand new shop and forum (more on that a bit later), and did a bit of blog hopping. With this much energy so early in the day, I'm beginning to scare myself. If I don't watch it, I'll be dragging out the vacuum cleaner next. What is this world coming to????
*
Tonight, Wayne (remember him? my computer techno Wiz?) is coming over to change my TV's around. Maybe he'll even be able to have a look at Dee Dee's laptop while he is here. I have decided to bring the TV that I got for my brother out here to my living room. The one I have here now is almost brand new, so I will give it to Janet. She has been a Godsend to me these past few weeks. (actually, all the time!!)
*
After the TV switcheroo, Wayne can see about installing my new Norton in my desktop PC. These things befuddle me, so it's best to let him handle them. I also have a Digital TV program for my laptop that maybe he can set up for me.
*
Next on my list of things to do is my calendar for next year. If I don't get hopping on it pretty soon, I won't need it. So I think I shall make that my priority project for this week. And maybe a new Christmas card too. (See what I mean about this energy burst? Scary, huh?)
*
Today I have a photo of another of the beautiful plants that I received recently from friends. My green fingers have turned to brown over the years, so it will take a bit of work to keep this one alive. Although in all fairness, I do still have the peace lily that was given to me when my Michael passed away three years ago. So there is hope for this new plant.
*

Next, I have a photo that my friend Mary Ann took recently. I think this one should bring her a nice new ribbon. She has titled it "God's Paintbrush." Mary Ann, this is just fabulous!!!!!

Now I think that I should get dressed before my son in law gets here. No point in scaring him with my ratty old (but comfy) nightie. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Brand New Collab Kit "All Aboard"

November 8, 2010
*
Good morning. I'm at work, and it's only 5 am. It's still dark outside, and it's very wet and cold. It has been raining off and on all through the night. The weatherman says it may even snow a little bit. Gosh, I hope not!!
*
I've been busy burning files to disc, and trying to clean some of the stuff out of my laptop. It's just so hard to decide what has to go and what gets to stay. I like it all!! But some of it definitely has to go because I'm running out of space.
*
Two days ago, I misplaced my cell phone, and was feeling a bit lost without it. I looked everywhere I could possible think of, but no cell phone. So when I got home from work Sunday morning, I asked one of the dwarfs to call me on his phone. Then I just had to follow the sound of the phone ringing. For goodness sakes! You'll never guess where I found it! It was right there on the sofa, under my snuggle wrap. Some days, my brain just doesn't cook with all it's burners!!
*
Today, Miss Su and I have a brand new collab kit for you. "All Aboard" is gorgeous, and HUGE! I believe we each have six folders, so we'll both post two folders each time. Here is a preview of my portion of "all Aboard."
*

And here are the links for the first two parts of my portion of "All Aboard."
*
*
After you download these, hop over to Su's blog, and pick up her parts for this week. Here's a peek at what she has for you.
*
Well, I think I'll play around with a challenge for a while till it's time to geat ready to go home. Hmmm, maybe a color challenge this time. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Lovely Bella Buggati

November 7, 2010
*
At the moment, it's quite dark outside and cold. But then of course, it's only 6 am. It's really 7 am, but I set the clock back an hour for daylight savings. I hope you all remembered to set your clocks back too.

Yesterday I stopped by the library on my way home from having my nails done. They were having a huge book sale, and of course I had to buy a bagful of books. There were so many great books that I finally had to just walk away. BUT, I now have a whole bag of new books to read.

Last night, I finished up the book cover challenge at Magickal Scraps. This month it was to be a story that featured an animal. I love this challenge and chose to have some fun with it. Here are my front and back covers. My Bella bugs are credited to COH Scraps.
*

These covers are narrow, so I will have to finagle a bit so that Blogger won't move them around somewhere else, or print "one word" sentences down the sides of them. Posting with Blogger here is sometimes like piecing together a puzzle.
*
Today will be a "catch up on sleep" day. I didn't get any winks during the night, so I read one of my new books. After Miss Tootsie and I have a bit of breakfast and our morning meds, it will be time for bed.
*
Hopefully tonight, I will be able to work on another challenge, and maybe the new Holiday kit. Tomorrow, Miss Su and I will each be posting two parts of our new collab kit. You will get two parts from me and two parts from her blog. This is a fairly large kit.
*
Now I think I'll have a quick cup of coffee before it's time for me to go home. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.
*

Big Clouds Dropping In

November 6, 2010
*
Tis another gray and damp morning here in my little part of New England. People all around me seem to be coming down with colds. I'm still trying to get rid of the one I caught a few weeks ago, so I hope I don't catch any new germs.

There's not a lot of news today. I have empty rooms that I am trying to fill. We still have a lot of work to finish on and around the house. And I have a lot of designing to get caught up with. Plus there are a few challenges that I want to do. In between, I really should acquaint myself with the duster and the vacuum and apply them a bit around my place.

Last night, I tried to update my Norton internet security program, and it messed up some of the functions on my laptop. For instance, it would not let me see any images on websites I went to. Wayne cannot come out till next Tuesday, so I went back in and disconnected a part of the update program. Voila!! Images now appear!!

This morning I have an appointment to get my nails done. They are in such a mess!! I really should have gone to have them done at least two weeks ago, but I've been busy. Two of my nails have broken, so I really cannot let this go another day.

Today's photo is one that I took yesterday out the window at work. There were lots of little birds busy eating the seeds from the plants that were passing by. This photo shows two little finches enjoying a noon meal.
*

While sitting at a stop light on my way home from work, I took this photo of the clouds. There were huge fluffy clouds moving quite fast and covering up all the clouds above them. These new clouds were partly white, but mostly gray, and hanging so close to earth that it almost seemed as though they might touch the tops of the trees and buildings. This photo doesn't do justice to what I was seeing, but you can get an idea.
*
Now it's time to give Miss Tootsie her morning meds. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a marvelous day.

Thank You Everyone For A Beautiful Day

November 5, 2010
*
Good morning. Wow, did I ever sleep late this morning! Now I only have time for a very short post here, and then I have to get ready to leave for work.
*
Yesterday was such a wonderful day. Janet took me out for lunch and helped me pack up some of Moo's things. Dee Dee and Eddie and the kids brought me a fantastic supper, and my son and I chatted for an hour on the phone last night. All this and cards and presents too!!
*
I did manage to spend a little while designing. There are so many beautiful things to work on for the upcoming month, plus another book cover challenge. This time the story for the cover will have to be about an animal as the leading character. This should be fun.
*
Like I said, this is a very short post. I don't even have time to really finish my coffee. I need to be leaving the house in about 30 minutes for work. So, I will leave you with a photo of a bunch of gorgeous roses that I have had for more than a week. They are still looking beautiful. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a marvelous day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA JEAN

November 4, 2010
*
This morning is gray, wet and cool, but it's a great day anyway. It's Laura Jean's and my birthday. Yup, we share our special day. Laura Jean is my youngest child. When she was an infant, they told me she would not make it till seven months, and voila!! Today she is 45 years old. Happy Birthday sweetie, may your day be filled with sunshine and happiness.
*
This morning, Janet is coming over and we are going to have ourselves a grand day. With a little work mixed in too. Last night, she brought dinner with her. Home made beef stew. Mmmm, mmm. And homemade fudge brownies too!! Lately, I seem to have lost a couple of pounds, but now I think I have found them again!!
*
I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful birthday wishes. My day has started off with a huge smile. Even the rain isn't putting a damper on my day. I have an umbrella, and Tootsie has a hooded rain slicker. And my last few flowers need the rain.
*
This morning I have a couple photos of a little woodpecker that I took a few days ago. I think they are just the cutest little birds. Actually, I think all the birds are beautiful. I love to hear them singing and chirping away outside my window.
*

Later today, I want to work on a few new QP freebies and a new Holiday kit. That should keep me busy for a bit. Plus I have a new toy that I want to go out and play with. It's a telescope for my camera. Now you know I can't wait to try this one out!!! I'm off now to get Tootsie's morning meds. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
*
Hugs, Edna B.
