I'm Angry and Hurt, But I Will Get Over It

June 3, 2010

Good morning everyone. It's still a bit gray outside, but then it's still a bit early, only a little after 8 am. I was going to write this post last night, but I thought better of it. I was so angry and hurt that I thought I had better sleep on my thoughts, and maybe I wouldn't be so angry come morning. It was the right thing to do.

You know, you can go through your whole life trying to please people, but there are some folks that you will never be able to please. You could shoot yourself, and they wouldn't even notice that you were gone. Some folks just aren't happy unless they are making everyone else around them miserable. The really sad part of this is that sometimes these people don't even realize how depressing they really are.

When I first started my blog, one of my daughters in law informed me that under no circumstances was I ever to put her or any of her children's pictures on my blog. Not in a scrap layout, not in any way. I was not to mention them, they did not exist as far as my blog went.

To date, I have respected her wishes. Until yesterday, when I posted wishes to my granddaughter (her oldest daughter). But note, I did not post any photo. Actually, I don't have any photos to post. I asked the kids for recent photos of them and they assured me they would send some. (they all live out of state) But mother stepped in and informed them that if they sent me photos I would most likely put them on my blog. So there will be no photos.

Now here's the part that really makes me angry. For the last year or two, these very same children have been allowed to have Facebook pages where they paste their photos for the whole world to see, right down to every last pervert. Mom thinks this is preferable to having the same photos put into a nicely scrapped layout and posted here.

So tell me, how many of you folks out there that actually do drop by to read my little blog are really perverts and child molesters? I can't think of one good reason why any pervert would want to read my blog. They have so much to look forward to on Facebook that they don't ever have to go blog-hopping to get their jollies.

Okay! Now that I have got all of that off my chest, I think I might even feel a bit better. I get tired of having to hold all of my feelings back just so certain folks don't get their feelings hurt.

Last night, I worked on, and finished, my layout for Week 5 at Journal Camp. This is the final week, and I must say that I have really enjoyed myself. I learned a lot about journaling and why it's important to scrapping and saving memories. Nani, if you ever decide to run another one, count me in!! Here's my layout. (Kiki's Place was the name of my ceramic store.)

And for being patient and letting me rant and rave and get a lot off my chest, I have a lovely freebie QP for you. This is one of my favorites. I hope you like it. Now I shall get started on this new day. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

That's just silly ! Facebook is a lot more risky for that sort of thing than your blog !!! It was even warned about specially with the upcoming soccer and football seasons around the corner that childrens pictures are removed or the settings made private !!! And I bet you , if I had the name I would be able to get pictures of them ! Sorry , but this just makes no sense at all ! I can understand that you are angry about this , I would be as well. Cheer up Edna, we all ove you - hugs :)

Loved your JC layout! What a great experience! There is so much to be learned from those who “see” the world from a different perspective. :)

I was just talking to my brother last weekend about cyber-safety. He is knocking heads with one of the girls about one of the story writing groups she’s in online. My brother is ultra conservative when it comes to his 16-year old babies! He’s also either one of those parents who forgot what he was like as a teen, or remembers too well and it scares him to death! But he is also on both their friends lists on Facebook, as is their step-mom and step brother and sister (both adults). I’m on both lists too. He’s also cool with my security rules about kids under 13 and last names on my blog. Again, really, what pervert is looking at a mostly scrapbooking blog written by a 44-year-old woman?

You daughter-in-law’s wishes just seem overprotective, although Facebook, a notoriously loose personal information security site, being okay is quite the contradiction. But, including not mentioning her or showing her face? That sounds downright paranoid! I think I’d probably ask for her real reasons – “is it personal?”

Considering the store got attacked and the hackers didn't explore to "visit" the designers' blogs, I really think it proves how safe your blog is!

Oh, and withholding pictures of your grandkids for fear that you'd scrap them is paranoia to the sucky extreme!

Wonder if there's a Facebook quiz for that?

you people need a life. i'm jessyca the granddaughter mentioned in this blog. first of all, what was written is WRONG! my mom had nothing to do with it. i did not want my picture on this blog and neither did my brother or sister because honestly some of you people are weird. i do read this blog from time to time and you give me the creeps. and for all of your information, though it is none of your business, my facebook profile is private so only my friends can read what i write and see my pictures, and i assure you i don't make friends with pervs. i'd rather have my friends see my pictures than you people. and if you must know, my sweet grandmother is the one that holds a grudge against my mom. you people only hear half the story, not the whole thing so get a life and stop bad-mouthing my mom because you don't know her. she was just trying to step in because i was afraid of offending my grandmother by telling her that i DID NOT want my pictures on hear. now i see that that was a mistake on my part. i'm old enough now to tell annoying people like you how annoying i think you are!
