I'm On The Mend

October 3, 2021

Good morning.  I think I must have caught a bit of a cold because I've been under he weather these past couple days.  I've been staying warm under my blankets and drinking fluids.  Today I was actually looking forward to breakfast.  That has to mean that I'm on the mend.

Something must be going around because Deanne has picked up a bit of a cold too.  With the temps changing so fast, I guess this is to be expected.  Tis the season for lots of chicken noodle soup.

This morning I'm watching ShopLC.com.  They are having a massive clearance, and oh my oh my!  Nope, I'm not buying, but I'm loving seeing all the beautiful gems from around the world.  One of my favorites, Baltic Amber, is being featured now.  It's an 18 inch necklace, and it is gorgeous!  Did you know that the tree resin has to be a million years old to be called Amber?

Here's a picture of Amber that I've borrowed from Google.

Pretty soon I'll have to change the channel because the deals are becoming so tempting.  Mmm Mmm Mmm.  I'm trying to be good.  And just look.  If I can just hang in there for another hour, Law & Order will be on.

I'd like to start wrapping some of the things that I have set aside for the holidays.  Maybe this week I can do some of this.  The U.S. Postal Service has already announced that this year's holiday mail will take much longer for delivery.  So that means that packages need to be mailed much earlier this year.

I guess this is because of Covid.  Most everything that is not working is blamed on Covid these days.  I don't understand.  Amazon ships packages every day and they are not slowing down because of Covid.  So why is it slowing down the U.S. Mail?

Have you all checked out whether or not the Vaccine booster shot is available in your area and whether or not you are eligible to get it?  Folks, if you are 65 or older, this is important.  Don't wait for your city or town to call you.  Call them!

Now I'm going to catch up with my blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Good morning, I know several people will colds right now. My husband had one recently. Hope you are all well soon! We have been at the beach all week so we are feeling the change in temps and hope we don't get sick. Take care of yourself! Our booster isn't available yet but when it is, I'll be rolling up my sleeve. Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

Happy you are on the end and no, it isn;t surprising with these quick changing weather and temperatures you could catch a cold. Stay warm and drink fluid(and/or chicken soup hahaha).
Gems are wonderful to see, and there are sooo many.
I wonder why mail has to be slower because of Covid? Here a lot of things are also blamed on Covid. I don;t think it is all the truth.
Well, we will have to send away Christmas mail/packages sooner then, good to know.
Have a great day and try to take it still a bit easy for one or two days, okay?
Hugs(also to poor Deanne)

I imagine that the difference between your postal service and Amazon is that the postal service will have everyone on proper contracts whereas Amazon just employs people on a short term basis; so when Amazon have drivers off sick they just employ more people or pile extra work on to their existing staff. I'm feeling a bit poorly today but I'm putting it down to my flu jab which I had yesterday. I hope you're soon feeling better.

My boss and a couple of co-workers have all had terrible colds in recent weeks. There's definitely something going around! (And they tested negative for Covid, so it's not that.)

I love those amber beads. Beautiful! Definitely steer clear of home shopping channels. :)
