Ever Wonder Why?

September 17, 2019

Good morning.  The sun is shining, but the temps will be in the mid sixties all day.  Tonight they will fall to the low fifties.  I feel the cold in my bones.  Brrrr.  I guess it's time to start the countdown till Spring time.  Amazingly, when Spring gets here, these temps will feel warm.

I did call to make an appointment for Pogo with the eye doctor.  He goes next Wednesday morning for his eye exam and whatever other tests they have to do to see if he is a candidate for cataract surgery.  I'm making a list of questions to ask the doctor.

My little guy is hungry this morning.  I just cut up half of a hamburger for him (into tiny pieces) and there's hardly a sniff left on his plate.  He ate it all.  What a good boy!

I've been reading another book that's really quite interesting.  It's called "Ever Wonder Why?"

Today I have to make up a grocery shopping list.,  I'm running low on paper goods and a few staples.  I guess I'll have to try to make up a menu for a week or two so that I make sure to have everything I need on the list.  This will be a new project for me because I'm not used to planning menus.

Audrey sent me a couple more photos from Andi's wedding.  The first photo is the proud Papa (Mac) dancing with his daughter.  The second photo is the bride and groom dancing.  Charles and Andi.

Thank goodness for cell phones with cameras.  The photographer's photos won't be ready for a while, so these photos are very welcome.  Audrey did take a few videos with her phone and she''ll be sharing those with me soon.

I have to call my health insurance to find out why there are copays on tests that are medically necessary.  I thought they told me before that these tests are all covered, but from the bills I'm getting, they aren't completely covered.  When you are over sixty five, you have to  be careful when your doctor starts calling for routine tests and blood work.  Make sure you need them or you may have to pay for them yourself.

Now I'm off to do some blog reading before I get started on that shopping list.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

You are correct about the doctors. The more you come in, the more they make. I have been blessed and only go once a year for annual physical. No co-payment on it.

Be careful getting the vitamin D test. I still can't find that answer in my medicare hand book letting you know they will only pay for so many vitamin D lab test annually. I appealed but they are still trying to make me pay for it. I think the lab knew because they had me to sign the paper if medicare didn't pay that I would pay. They knew how many test they would pay for. I stopped using that lab and the doctor who sent me there. I am now using another Nephrologist. I always say, they try to work together even with the drug store. They will have you taking medicine you don't need. I quit on my own. My blood pressure today was 127/65....which is very good but they had me taking 3 blood pressure pills and I quit and started taking 2 and not twice daily. I take those 2 pills in the morning. Only once daily. So we have to be very careful and be wise when you take Pogo to get his eyes checked because when I carried Milo to the emergency clinic they wanted to keep him in the hospital and charge me over$1,000 but I refused and then they told me I could dispense the medicine to him at home. It still cost me $750.00 but my boy was very ill from those who wasn't taking good care of him before I got him. I just wanted him to live. Now he get his annual vaccines and check up. Everyone is trying to get all your money if they can. I am so much like you, stay home and go shopping when I need things and stay away from as many humans as I can. (laughing hard) I hope you and Pogo have a great day

It is scary that all health care is getting more expensive! I can understand a small rise at times, but here we have some costly medicins and all sorts of stuff. And the health insurance basic seems to cover less and less, and if you take an extra coverage it isn;t cheap and it will not say that all is covered in it.
Till now Jan and i are still kind of blessed, we have to pay an extra of euro 385 each year pro person( and that amount is quickly spent with our medications) Till now we didnlt have to pay extra for tests and such, but I wonder for how long ?????
Great ohoto of father and daughter by the way!
