April 30, 2018
Good afternoon. I'm a bit late posting today because I thought Pogo and I might go out to do some errands this morning. Alas, I got busy doing some household chores and ran out of morning. So we've decided to wait until after Pogo has his turkey treat when Joe gets home, and then we'll do our errands.
That means that today's post will be a bit short. Today is a bit gray and wet. The sun was shining a while ago, but it's gray again. The temperature is fifty degrees, and tonight will drop down to thirty nine degrees. However, tomorrow should start some really nice warm temps.
Today I have a couple photos to share that feature my granddaughter Mia. Not only does she work a full time job, she also does competitive cheerleading and helps with community work projects. Recently, she volunteered to help celebrate Spring Clean Up, which helps some local Vietnam veterans with yard work. This included yard clean up, painting sheds, building and weeding gardens, fixing borders, spreading mulch, raking leaves, hauling away tree debris, etc.
In the top photo, Mia is on the left end, holding a rake. It's awesome to see so many wonderful folks come out to help our veterans. In the second photo, that is Mia being held up high. She looks beautiful against that gorgeous blue sky. Yup, it's me again, bragging about my wonderful family. But that's what grandmas do.
Today is the last day of this beautiful month of April. It may be rainy, but it is helping lots of plants to spring forth with blossoms and putting little green leaves on our trees. That makes it a beautiful month.
Well Joe should be getting home from work momentarily, so I'll be off now. Pogo is watching out the door for Joe's truck to pull into the yard. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

A Busy Day For Pogo
April 29, 2018
Good morning. Tis a bit gray and wet today, but the sun does peek out from behind the clouds every now and then. And guess what?? Our trees now have lovely beautiful baby leaves on all their branches. They just sort of popped out overnight a couple nights ago.
Yesterday was a busy fun day for my boy. It started with his turkey treat in the morning. On days when Joe is home Pogo gets his treat as soon as Joe wakes up in the morning. Then Joe cooked him a hamburger, and he had a bit of that. Imagine! A hamburger for breakfast! Such a lucky boy!
Next, we went to Home Depot. Joe was fishing in the pond near the store and he met us when we got to the store. First we went looking for the little white fencing to go around all our little gardens. We were lucky and found exactly what I was looking for. Then we got some plywood to make a floor for the greenhouse. Joe loaded it all on his truck and took it home.
Pogo and I then went to Petco to find some new shirts for him. We bought a few, although some have to be returned (too big). And we found an adorable baseball cap for him. He looks so sharp in it and it helps to keep the bright sun out of his eyes.
In the second photo of Pogo, he is on the porch, supervising while Joe puts the greenhouse together. The weather was awesome, and it was the perfect day to set up the greenhouse. First Joe cut the wood and made the floor for it. Then he started the task of putting together a whole box full of pieces that finally turn into a greenhouse. Here are a few photos.
The top photo is the greenhouse finished. But then we put on a sun mesh shade screen that I purchased after reading a link that Kyra had sent to me. This lets the sun in, but not the ultra violet rays that might burn the plants. The second photo is Joe anchoring the shade screen to the flooring. The last photo is the final product. Woo Hoo! I love it. The piece that is rolled up on the front is the door. It zips closed.
Today I need to repot a few plants and set them out in the greenhouse. If the sun comes out, maybe Pogo and I can go to the store to buy some plant food and plant trays. If not, we can go tomorrow. We did not get to go shopping at the Ocean State Job Lot store, so maybe we can do that too while we are out.
Are you watching the calendar? April has only one more day. Gosh, if time keeps flying by this quickly, I'll be eighty five before I'm eighty! Hmmm, that's not such a funny thought! Today I have a new quick page for you. This is just a quiet one to jot down a memory. I hope you like it.

Happy Birthday Pogo
April 27, 2018
Good morning. Tis another pretty Spring day outside my door. Today's temps will be in the sixties. I love it. Last night I left my new plants out on the porch all night. Let's hope that this morning they are still okay.
Today or tomorrow, Pogo and I are going shopping. I'm thinking we'll stop by the pet supply store to buy some new Summer shirts for Pogo. He could use some new ones. And, if anything else catches his eye, we'll get that for him too. Because, guess what?
Tomorrow is Pogo's birthday. He will be twelve years young. It just doesn't seem possible that almost six years has gone by since the first day he came to live with me. This little guy puts a sparkle in my eyes and a song in my heart. I hope he's with me for at least another twelve years or more. Here's a page I made for my precious little fellow.
Tis the season for planting and growing things, and I've been getting excited about growing a few things in the new greenhouse. Last night, a blog friend, Angelica, shared some photos of her garden with me. Wowsie! What a beautiful garden! She uses raised beds and grows quite a variety of veggies. Here are photos of her garden.
What beautiful plants! If mine grow like this I'll be so surprised and happy. I haven't had much luck these past few years trying to grow veggies. Pogo asked Angelica what her fur babies looked like and what their names were. She sent him this photo.
My goodness, they are beautiful! And look at their furniture! Their couch is like Pogo's, only bigger. They are (left to right) Mila who is a beige and white Maltipoo, Queen who is a beige and white long haired Chihuahua, and Babs who is a brown short haired Chihuahua. Angelica, thank you so much for sharing these photos with us. Your family is simply gorgeous!
Folks, unless I already have it, I always ask for permission before sharing other folks photos. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable about sharing photos. I will always respect other folks' wishes.
Now I think I'm going to make a fresh cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading. So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

Gosh, I Get Side Tracked So Easily
April 26, 2018
Good morning. It's still a bit on the cloudy side today, but I have hopes that the sun will come out and dry up all the big puddles. Pogo and I have to go out today to the Post Office. It's supposed to be a really nice day, but my sniffling nose somehow doesn't agree.
Where oh where did I catch a new cold? I've been so careful, always wearing a coat or jacket when I go outside. Hopefully, this one won't stick around very long. Now that Spring is here, I want to be able to play outside. I just don't have time to be sick with a cold now.
Yesterday, my veggie plants (that I had ordered back in February) arrived. There are two tomato plants, two bell pepper plants, and two eggplant plants. I sent the eggplant plants home with DIL Janet last night. Now I really have to get the greenhouse set up so that these plants have a place to grow.
Last night, I finished the green dolly. Gosh, she is looking just as pretty as the other dollies. Oh my, now what color should I make? There are so many pretty colors to choose from. Orange, purple, blue, yellow, gold, oh my, oh my! I guess I'll have to make one in every color. I can always raffle them all off at the animal shelter fundraiser this summer.
Daughter Audrey has been busy finishing up one of her crochet projects lately. Her granddaughter, Alena, loves owls, so Audrey has been making her an owl wrap around. Wow, what a lot of work went into this owl wrap around, but it really is gorgeous. Alena is thrilled with it! Wow, look at that beautiful smile!
I'm back....I went to the door because someone was out there calling to me, then I got the mail and put it all up on the mail board, looked for a slip from yesterday's oil delivery but could not find one, called oil company to find out if they really came and could I have a copy of the delivery bill, checked a message on my cell phone, got my newspaper that was delivered, Phew!
I think I'd best close now before any more things crop up to take my attention away from this post. Besides, I have to get dressed so that Pogo and I can go to the Post Office. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

It's Finally Spring!
April 25, 2018
Good morning. My, what a difference a day makes! Yesterday was simply awesome, and today is gray and raining. I'm not complaining. My grass and plants are loving it. The weather forecast is calling for some really awesome days coming our way soon.
Yesterday, Pogo and I went to the park to meet up with Deanne, Janice, Aurora and Xander. The baby, Xander, is cutting a few teeth, so he wasn't exactly thrilled to be there, but Aurora had an awesome time feeding the geese, digging in the dirt and picking up rocks. This little girl is after my heart. I love rocks!!
As far back as I can remember, I always collected rocks of all sizes. They just fascinate me. Nowadays, I particularly love the ones that I can wear on my fingers. hahaha. I love gemstones. It even lead me to making jewelry for a few years. I had to stop though when my hands started to get a bit arthritic. I broke an emerald trying to set it in a mounting. Expensive mistakes take a lot of the fun out of a hobby.
Today, I want to share a couple photos that I took yesterday of the new blossoms in my yard. So far, only the daffodils and hyacinth are in bloom. It's amazing how a tiny blossom can put such a big smile on your face.
Some of the rose bushes need to be pruned, but I'm going to wait another week at least before doing any pruning. I lost my yellow rose tree because it was too cold when I pruned it. That was a tough lesson to learn.
Yesterday afternoon, I dug out a different green yarn and a matching variegated yarn and started a new green dolly dress. Wowsie, is it ever pretty! I have about a quarter of the bottom ruffle done, then I will make the hat. I'll take a photo once it is finished.
Today I have a new quick page for you. This one is a reminder that all animals need a good home and a loving family. So if you're thinking of getting a new pet, please don't buy, ADOPT!

Yesterday, Joe vacuumed my porch and set up all the furniture. Next, we will wash it down, and lay down the rug. Then Pogo and I can sit out there on nice days. As soon as I can pick up some wood for a floor, I'll be setting up the new greenhouse. Hopefully, by the end of the week.
Now I think I'll read a few blogs. Then I think I'll start making my meat sauce for tonight's pasta supper. DIL Janet will be coming by and this is one of our favorite meals. Pogo likes a little bit of it on his dinner plate too.
Later I'll finish the green dolly outfit and pick a color to start another one. I'm off now. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

We're Off To The Park Today
April 24, 2018
Good morning. Well, we did get our cable back yesterday afternoon. I'm not sure why, but this happens more than it should. Calling the cable company doesn't really do anything to change it. Maybe they just keep interrupting our service to get us to sign up for a more expensive cable package. It's not going to work with me. If I have to, I'll sign up with a different company. Not that I want to, but if I have to I will.
Yesterday was a rather sluggish day for me. Thank goodness it's over. I wanted to work on my porch, but I was just too tired. Maybe later on today I can spend some time out there. When I finish this post, Pogo and I are going to meet up with Deanne and two of my great grandbabies in the park. This will be so much fun.
I did take a photo yesterday of my second tissue dolly. Gosh, she is soooo pretty! When I finish the next one, I'll dig out the ribbons, etc, to finish up these dollies.
I started a green dolly dress, but I'm not happy with how the variegated yarn looks with it, so I'll have to look through my stash to see if I have another yarn that will look better. I also need to order some dolly hair pins to use for holding the hats in place. I guess the afghans can wait. I'm having too much fun making these dollies.
Here's a recipe that I borrowed from the web. I really had to laugh because it reminds me of so many of the "computer meals" that I've made in the past.
For instance, to make wall paper paste you put on a pot of water to boil. When it starts boiling, put in a pound of elbow macaroni. Stir, and go back to what you were doing on the computer. When the house starts filling up with smoke, your paste is done. Have fun cleaning out the pan!
Oh yeah, I'm guilty. I've also made hamburgers, chicken and pork chops that could be used as ammunition to throw at an intruder. Guaranteed to knock him out! I've learned to stay off the computer or anything else that takes up my attention when I'm cooking. The food tastes better, and the clean up is easier.
I found out last night that Pogo does not like meatloaf. That's what we had for supper. He only ate a little bit (out of sheer hunger I think) and walked away. He likes his hamburger plain, not infused with other foods. He likes it cooked all the way through, but not overcooked. He will not eat meat that is pink or red. He will eat some rice or green beans mixed into the hamburger on the plate. Notice I said "mixed in" not "cooked with". To him there is a big difference.
I guess tonight, I'll have left over meatloaf, and I'll cook up some hamburgers for Pogo. Between supper time and his late night snack, Pogo will eat one of the hamburgers, and the second one will be for tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll make pasta and meat sauce, and put some this on the plate with his hamburger. This will make him very happy.
Now it's time for me to get dressed so that we can head over to the park soon. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Oh Boy, A New Yarn Catalogue!
April 23, 2018
Good morning. It's really gorgeous outside today. It's sunny with a teeny tiny breeze. Temps today will be in the low sixties. Pogo has been like a little kid going in and out all morning. I was hoping to nap for a while, but he keeps asking me to open the door for him. So I open the door.
My back has started bothering me, so I had to take a pain pill last evening, and then again in the middle of the night. This morning I'm feeling a bit groggy. I don't take pain pills very often so my system doesn't have a chance to get used to them. But they do take the edge off the pain so that I can move about and do a few things.
Oh my, the mailman just came and brought me a new Herrschners catalogue. Woo Hoo! For a limited time, there is free shipping. This is good because there are a few yarns that I want to order. There are also a couple things in the catalogue that I want to order and put away for Christmas. With free shipping, this is a good time to order them.
Last night, I finished the second bathroom tissue dolly. (This one is red.) It does still need its ribbons, etc. but I'll take a photo of it this afternoon to share here. While I was up during the night, I started another tissue dolly. (In green) After that, I'll make a patriotic one, and an orange one. The orange one is for me, of course!
I can't upload any photos, or even post this till later this afternoon. For some reason, the cable is out. When the cable is out I have no TV, no internet and no landline phone. I used my cell phone to call the cable company, and they said that the problem should be fixed by mid afternoon.
I guess I'll take a break here until the internet is working again. Maybe I can take a couple photos while I'm waiting for the cable to be fixed. Actually, I think I'll close here. I promise to chat a bit longer tomorrow, and to post some photos. So, till then, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Oh Spring, You Are Glorious!

Good morning. Yesterday was awesome, and today is another awesome day. The sun is shining, there's a teeny tiny breeze, and temps will again be in the low sixties. Can I dig it? You better believe it!
Yesterday, Joe got out the garden tools and cleaned out a couple of the small gardens. Before he did that, he took down all the porch screen covers and plastic and put it all away in the shed. Today he is going to clean out the garden on the other side of the house, then he will vacuum and set up the furniture on my porch. Woo Hoo!
I took Pogo outside for a little walk in the yard, and took some photos of the first blossoms in my garden. The first daffodils burst into bloom yesterday. Oh my, they are so beautiful! I will post a photo tomorrow.
Today I want to show you my first bathroom tissue dolly. She's not quite finished, but I couldn't wait to take a photo of her. I still have to add her ribbon and a few other embellishments, but this is what she looks like so far. I have to say that I am quite pleased. And yup, there's a roll of toilet tissue beneath her pretty skirt. (Background is from Amalie's kit "Wild Autumn)
DIL Janet sent me a photo of the kitty that lives in the building where she works. Her boss has a soft spot for homeless animals, and one day he found a small, hungry, homeless kitty cat and brought it to work with him. The kitty was named Morris, and is loving his new home. Here he is taking a nap in a mail basket on the window sill behind Janet's desk. I do believe he is quite a happy kitty cat.
Last week I got a letter from the State, advising me that I'd been randomly been chosen to be audited. Oh wowie! I've never been audited. I don't know if this is good or if it is bad. So, over the next couple of days I did manage to gather copies of all the information that they are requesting, and I'll be mailing it to them tomorrow. Wish me luck!
Today I have a new quick page for you. I love nature and animals. Can you tell? Have fun with this page.
Here is your download link:

Now I'm off to wash the breakfast dishes and go outside for a bit. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

A Great Day To Sparkle
April 20, 2018
Good morning. Tis a lovely day outside. The sun is shining and the temperature (now at 39F degrees) is working its way up to the low 50's. This is good because I really do need to go shopping for some groceries. I have a jar of peanut butter on the pantry shelf, and it's been winking at me for a while now but I ran out of bread several days ago.
Don't get me wrong, I do have some bread, but my little birds keep coming around, looking for it. They like it even better when I put peanut butter on it, so today I'll pick up some more hamburger rolls too. I usually slather these with peanut butter and hang them out in the treat holders. When I run out of the rolls, I give the birds my bread.
I am sparkling this morning! Can you see it? I got a note in my email that really made my eyes and my heart happy! Friends will be coming to Massachusetts in the Fall and will be stopping by for a visit. Woo Hoo!
Yesterday, Deanne came by and we watched "Nine To Five." I had never seen the movie and this way I got to see the role that Jazzy will be playing in the school's Spring musical. They've already purchased a blonde wig for her to wear. Now this I can't wait to see!
I also started working on a tissue dolly dress yesterday. Oh gosh, it is really coming out wicked pretty. I was going to take a photo of it, but I'll wait until it is finished. That should be later today. I'm working on the ruffles at the bottom of the dress.
A friend sent these to me a while ago and I thought I'd share them with you. I hope they give you a giggle and put a smile on your face.
Now I think I'll see about getting dressed. If I don't go shopping soon, I'll find a really good excuse to put if off for another day. So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

I'm Sending You A Big Hug Today
April 19, 2019
Good morning. It's not quite seven o'clock and already I've had my breakfast and done my morning blog reading. Even Pogo has finished his breakfast and now he's curled up next to me and having himself a nap. His soft snoring sounds are such beautiful music to my ears.
The temperature now is 41F degrees, and it is supposed to rain most all day. The high temperature today will only get about one or two degrees higher. Tomorrow starts our warm up days with temps in the fifties and lots of sunshine. (of course, that could change!)
Today, a couple of my friends are feeling down in the dumps, and I'm hoping that they can get through their despair very soon. Lord knows, I understand loss and grief. I've been through so much of it myself. But I've learned that once you've gone through the grieving process, you really have to take hold of yourself and look forward so that you can go on.
Losing a loved one is devastating. But we can't afford to hang on to grieving forever because that tends to make the folks around us leave. If we can't move forward, neither can the folks around us. Don't misunderstand, I'm not saying you should forget. I'm saying that you can treasure your precious memories and still go on. No, it's not easy, but then life isn't easy.
Another thing that causes lots of folks so much sadness is the lack of confidence in themselves. So many folks don't think that their lives are important. It's so easy to put ourselves down. But if you take the time to really look into yourself, you'll find that you are very important. Try writing a paper about yourself. By the time this paper is finished, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn some very wonderful things about yourself.
Each one of us has a special gift that makes us unique. Each one of us has a place in this world where we are needed. Once we realize that it's okay to love ourselves, we'll be able to see how many other folks love us too.
Folks, I used to be in this very same situation. Aside from being a mother, there wasn't anything special about me. This feeling was with me from about the age of two or three. While studying for my Masters Degree, (when I was almost 40) I had to write a term paper (for a psychology class) about myself and how I developed my own theories about the how, what and why's in life.
Wow! What an eye opener this assignment was! By the time I had finished, I had a whole new outlook about myself. I had found my purpose, and my self worth. I learned that I was indeed very important to so many people, and loved by so many. I learned to love me too.
That doesn't make me any less of a grouch on my grumpy days. Nor does it put me up on a pedestal. It means that it's okay to be proud of my accomplishments, the most important ones being the wonderful, amazing adults that my children became, and the awesome families they have raised.
So, if you're feeling blue today, take a deep breath and do something nice for yourself. Make a hot cup of tea or coffee, and while you are drinking it take a look outside your window at some of Nature's beauty. Be thankful that you woke up this morning.
I found this on the web a while ago and I'd like to share it with you. I'm so very glad to have all of you in my life. I'm so very blessed.
I had intended to write a very different type of post today, but, well, things change. I just felt that some of you might need a hug and a bit of reassurance that you really are quite awesome.
Now I'm going to make a fresh cup of coffee. Pogo will be waking up soon and I want to spend some time playing and cuddling with him. The joy he brings me is priceless. In a couple hours, Deanne will be coming by with the move, Nine To Five, that we are going to watch together. Tis another great day for me.
I'm off now. So, till tomorrow, love yourself. Y'all have a fantabulous day.

It Looks Like Spring!!
April 18, 2018
Good morning. Well, for two more minutes at least. I've been busy doing goodness knows what all morning. I didn't even go grocery shopping yet. Maybe I will later. The sun is shining and there is a little breeze. The temperature is 46F degrees, and working its way up to the low fifties.
As I look out my door, it looks like there may be tiny leaf buds coming on some of my trees. Woo Hoo! This is a good sign that Spring is finally taking hold. Pretty soon my little gardens will be sporting some daffodil blossoms too.
I've got lots of new catalogues to look through, but one item that already caught my eye was some hummingbird mint. I'd like to plant some of that in hopes that it will draw more hummingbirds. My beautiful Red Japanese Maple tree isn't looking so good this year. I'm just hoping that I'm not going to have to cut it down.
Last night I picked up the Cranberry and Pink afghan and started crocheting again. I have to say it felt good. Today I got some new dolly dress patterns in the mail. One of the patterns is for the type of tissue dolly that I have so I'll give it a try later on.
I found this adorable image on the web and thought that it was so like me. I am so good at putting things away in safe places. No one ever finds them, not even me! Can any of you relate to this? I also know that I shouldn't touch anything important. If I do, it will probably never be seen again.
I also found this very useful chart about healthy uses for berries. I did not know this about the blackberries, the raspberries and the strawberries. Hmmm, very interesting.
Now I think I need to finish washing the dishes that I started before sitting down to post here. Then I want to put the meat for tonight's supper in the microwave for a few minutes to thaw. The recycle bins have been emptied so I guess today is a good day to toss out a few more things.
Here's another wonderful image that I borrowed from the web. May God watch over all our animals.
So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

How Beautiful The Sun Is This Morning
April 17, 2018
Good morning. It's only seven o'clock, and the sun has been shining since daybreak, warming things up outside. I'm trying to work up enough energy to be able to go grocery shopping later this morning. The cupboards aren't bare, so if I don't go out today, I can always go out tomorrow.
Yesterday, I thought I might spend the day crocheting, but I ended up working on next year's tax stuff instead. In between logging entries into my notebook, I had a few important phone calls to make. The first call was to my insurance broker, asking them to send another copy of my insurance to the mortgage company. Every month, I get a letter from the mortgage company threatening to make me pay for extra insurance if they don't get this information. Every month, the broker faxes the information to the insurance company. Someone, somewhere, needs a brain refresher course.
The next call was to the insurance company. They sent me a check for the damages to the house, but they made the check out to me and the bank. This is no good to me. Now I'm waiting for them to call me back.
Some days I think it is much cheaper and easier to live in a rented apartment. Then all these problems go to someone else. On the other hand, I can do what I want around here without having to ask someone else's permission.
Today I'm sharing old photos from my album. This first photo was taken in the 60's,when my kids were very young. The baby, Laura Jean, was very sick, and the kids had just helped to plant this pansy garden for her. They are left to right: Audrey, Kerri, Deanne and Gary Jr.
It's amazing how quickly time flies. Today, these same children are all grand parents. Have you ever noticed how time drags by when you are raising your children, but once they are grown, time starts to fly by? I guess that's because we need all that extra time to help get them through their formative years and ready for adulthood.
Last night I decided to cook up some hamburgers for Pogo. He hasn't been eating much these past couple of days, so I decided to tempt him with his favorite food. It worked! With his tummy full, he slept through the whole night, without waking me up for some food. At six thirty this morning though, he was wanting some more of his hamburger. So that's when we got up!
I found this picture on the web and thought I would share it here. Folks, if you have room in your home and heart, do visit your local animal shelter and bring home a new fur baby (or two!). They all deserve to have a loving home and a nice warm bed to sleep in.
Now I'm going to make a fresh cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Janice Swims With The Dolphins
April 16, 2018
Good morning. Today is another gray, wet day. The temperature is at 41F degrees, working its way up to the low fifties. I had thought I might do some grocery shopping today but now I think I'll wait until tomorrow. The forecast for tomorrow is sunny and a tad bit warmer.
Yesterday was another of those days where I keep myself busy doing only God knows what. Oh well, at least He knows I'm busy. I did put out most of my recycles. Both barrels were full, so I could not fit all of them in. The rest can go out today after the bins have been emptied.
Joe told me yesterday that he will take the screen covers off my porch next weekend. Woo Hoo! After that, I can get everything vacuumed out there and set up. I have a little cabinet with three drawers that I want to put out there to keep things in. Then I won't have to be carrying the same things out there and back in every day.
I do need an electrical outlet out on the porch, so I guess I'm going to have to look into electricians. Eddie and Kevin have been working super long hours every week, sometimes not getting a day off. DIL Janet has a friend who does electrical work, so maybe I'll see if he can do the job.
I also want to put up a camera outside my door, with a screen in the living room, so that I can see what's going on out there and who is coming up to my door (without going to the door first). Maybe I can have this person install this too.
Last night, Janice (who is in Cancun, Mexico with her family) sent me some awesome photos of her and her brother having a wicked good time swimming with the dolphins and riding an ATV.
Wow, years ago, Michael and I went to Cancun, but we never saw any dolphins. How we would have loved to play with them. I did, however, get to climb to the top of an ancient ruin. Oh, to be young again!
I guess today is going to be a crochet day. There are a couple buds on my daffodils, but they will have to wait till tomorrow to be photographed. I'm a bit too old to be playing outside in the rain. It might be a lot of fun, but I'll have to pass.
Well, that's about all my news for today. Now I think I'll do a bit of blog reading. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

A Fun Day Out
April 15, 2016
Good morning. Today is gray with a bit of a breeze. We're supposed to get rain today and tomorrow. I hope all the precipitation that we've been getting is helping to fill up our ponds and reservoirs.
Yesterday was a busy day. Deanne and Jasmine worked all day inside the front door of the Texas Roadhouse, a restaurant with super yummy food. Part of the proceeds from the food ordered was paid to the BHS drama club. You just had to show a picture of the advertising poster on your phone. Here's the poster and a photo of Jazzy working at the table. (They had items for sale and a raffle.)

I ordered prime rib, and oh my, it was just yummy! Deanne and Jazzy took a break to sit and have a meal with Eddie, Kevin and me. The service was excellent, the food was great and the atmosphere was fun and comfortable. A really nice place to go to.
Before I left to go to the restaurant, I got a text message from my friend Beth. She and her kids were at the local animal shelter to inquire about a little doggie. She sent me photos of one that they all fell in love with. Oh my, what a cutie pie!! Beth, I hope it all works out well for you and you get to adopt the little doggie.
My hair is starting to grow longer again so I tried to take a selfie. Sad to say, I don't take very good selfies, so I did it my way. In front of a mirror. So, here's my new selfie.
Today I think I'll try to fill up a couple more lunch bags (to toss out, hahaha) and then I'll work on the cranberry and pink afghan. I'd like to get it finished. I promised Deanne that she could pick out one of my afghans to raffle off to raise money for the Drama club at the high school.
My friend Kyra sent me some links about greenhouse gardening to check out. I did and I learned a lot of great information. One of the things I learned about was the sun shades for the greenhouse, so I order a couple of them. I'm really looking forward to doing a bit of gardening this Spring. Thanks, Kyra.
Today I have a new quick page for you. As you can see, even all the little animals are happy to see Spring arriving.
Here is your download link:
Now I'm off to wash some dishes, toss out a few things and pick up my crocheting. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Family Is Everything
April 13, 2018
Good morning. The sun goes in and out, but the temperature is in the sixties. Pogo and I are loving it. I even put my berry plants out on the porch for a bit of fresh air. Temps will be going back down for a while, but I think they should even out pretty soon.
This week was a fun week for my family. On Tuesday, Deanne, Eddie, Bobby, Amber, Kevin and some of his friends all went to the Red Sox game at Fenway Park. It was a great game with the Red Sox beating the pants off the Yankees. It was also Amber's very first baseball game, and she loved it. Here's a photo of Bobby and Amber at the game. (Bobby is Deanne and Eddie's eldest.)
On Wednesday night, Kevin, Janice and some of Kevin's friends went to Boston to see the Celtics play. They had a great time. Here's a photo of Janice and Kevin. (Kevin tries really hard not to smile for the camera. Not sure why.)
Meanwhile, Jazzy has been auditioning for the new Spring Musical at the high school. They will be performing "Nine To Five." Great news! Woo Hoo! Jazzy got the lead female part. Since this will be her last year at the high school, Deanne and Eddie are figuring out a way for me to be able to go the school to see this performance. (There's a lot of walking, etc.)
Jazzy also rehearses with the Starliners at the Paris Cabaret, and will perform in the Las Vegas special as often as she can. You know I'll be going to see this too! (and dining on Prime Rib, yum!)
You can't tell how proud I am of my family, can you? Everyone should be this proud of their loved ones! It's an awesome feeling!
Spring already made it's way to Virginia, and Audrey and her daughter Andi have been working in the yard, clearing brush and making way for the new chicken coop. Audrey says she may be getting a couple of turkeys too. I can't wait to see photos of the new animals. My mom grew up on a farm and they had all kinds of animals there. It's a good life.
Today, Janice is off to spend a week in Cancun with her family. Be careful and have a great time Janice. And remember, don't drink the water!
Now I'm going to do a bit of blog reading while I drink my coffee. So, till Sunday, Y'all have an awesome weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

Tis A Lovely Spring Day
April 12, 2018
Good morning. It looks so good to look out and see the sun shining. It's 50F degrees at the moment, working its way up to 57F degrees. Oh it feels sooooo good! I know we still have cold temps coming, but a day like today really helps. Spring is trying so hard to get here.
I'll have to take my camera outside today to see which of my trees is budding. My plants are all still coming up. Some of the daffodils even have buds! Pretty soon, we can take the covers off my porch screens and I can get the porch set up.
The other night I heard a brand new song by Willie Nelson, and I just had to have it. (I've already pre-ordered it) Willie is turning 85 and is releasing a brand new album "Last Man Standing" on April 27th. The song is titled "Somethng You Get Through" and is beautifully written. I would post the video of the song here, but I don't know if it is allowed. However, you can go to You Tube and watch the video. Here's a picture of the new album cover.
And here are the lyrics to this beautiful song:
When you lose the one you love
You think your world has ended
You think your world will be a waste of life
Without them in it
You feel there's no way to go on
Life is just a sad, sad song
But love is bigger than us all
The end is not the end at all
I also promised to post the new scrap page that I made for Pogo's little friend, Cisco. I found the poem on the web and checked to see if I could find the author. I could not, but the poem was available on several sites (on Google). I've made this available as a quick page in case any of you would like it.
Here's your download link (for the quick page only):
http://www.mediafire.com/file/w96ewbd8rrqh67l/EB_-_QP_2018_-_33.zip
I always include credits on my TOU in case anyone wants to look up the kits that I use to make my quick pages. There are some really beautiful scrap kits, and the prices are very reasonable.
Wow, I just learned something very interesting. I have been here on this earth for 28, 649 days. That comes out to 687,576 hours. How's that for making someone feel old??? Info can be found on Google about the day you were born. It's fun, so look it up sometime.
Well, I've finished my coffee and I'm going to head over to the kitchen to make a fresh cup of it to enjoy while I do my morning blog reading. I love starting my day this way. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

"Something You Get Through"
When you lose the one you love
You think your world has ended
You think your world will be a waste of life
Without them in it
You feel there's no way to go on
Life is just a sad, sad song
But love is bigger than us all
The end is not the end at all
It's not somethin' you get over
But it's somethin' you get through
It's not ours to be taken
It's just a thing we get to do
Life goes on and on
And when it's gone
It lives in someone new
It's not somethin' you get over
But it's somethin' you get through
But it's somethin' you get through
It's not ours to be taken
It's just a thing we get to do
Life goes on and on

A Special Request
April 11, 2018
Good morning. Tis foggy and gray outside, The temperature is 39F degrees, but the sun is supposed to come out and warm things up to around 48F degrees. Now that would be nice. The next few days should be even warmer. Oh, I hope so.
Aside from my appointment yesterday, the rest of the day was rather uneventful. I didn't even fill up a lunch bag. For some reason, I was tired. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that Pogo woke me up at 4:30 in the morning looking for food. It's hard to say no to him, so naturally I got up and fed him.
Last night he made up for it. Once he went to bed, he slept through the whole night. Wow! On the other hand, he turns twelve years old this month. I don't really want him to start slowing down just yet. I may sound weird, but I would miss getting up in the middle of the night to feed him.
Today I have photos of the beautiful tulips that Deanne and Janice brought to me a few days ago. They are so pretty, like a ray of sunshine.
Last night I had a special request for a quick page. A friend has a friend whose fur baby is quite elderly with failing health. This is a particularly difficult time for both the fur baby and its human. Here is the page that I came up with. I hope you can use it.
Here is your download link:
Expired
I have another page that I made for a friend whose fur baby has already crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, but I haven't given it to her yet so I'll wait to post it.
Today I'll have to try harder to fill up a bag with stuff to toss out. I also should make up another bag for the Big Brother Big Sister organization. Pogo, on the other hand, is busy barking at the guy across the street. The man had the nerve to pull his truck into his driveway, and that definitely needs barking at.
On that happy note I'll take my leave. So till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

It Was Tiny And White, And Falling From The Sky. Really???
April 10, 2018
Good morning. Tis another gray day here in New England. Just a couple more days and it should start to warm up a bit for a few days. Today's temperature is 39F degrees. Hmmm, I wonder what Old Man Winter has been smoking lately. He doesn't seem to realize that it's time for him to move on.
Well, I went to see my orthopedic doctor this morning. It was a follow up about the pain in my right shoulder and arm. I told him that as long as I exercise it and try not to annoy it, it doesn't really hurt much at all. So for now, I'll continue on the way I have been and I don't need another shot.
We discussed my options should the pain get worse, and it's not something that I'm considering right now. I really don't want any more shots, and I definitely don't want surgery. So for now, I'll just do my best not to annoy it.
You won't believe this, but as I was coming out of the doctor's building, I noticed something floating down through the air. Oh wow! Snowflakes! Are you kidding? It wasn't a lot of snow, but it was snow. The flakes were small and not very heavy. By the time I got home, it was stopping. Yeesh!
I stopped a few times on the way home to take a few photos. I go by a cemetery, and next to it is a little pond. My goodness, the whole area was filled with birds. Lots and lots of pigeons and a couple of geese. I felt bad that I did not have any food for them so I did not stay very long.
Seeing all these beautiful birds makes me miss going to the park. As soon as the weather gets warmer, Pogo and I are going to take a trip to our park to see all the birds.
I also stopped to take a couple photos of flowers that were blooming. Gosh, just one town away and they have flowers. I have green stems. Boo Hoo! The quality of the photos isn't very good. I was using my phone and I was quite a distance away. But at least you can see the crocuses and daffodils.
If they are still in bloom when I go back that way, I'll try to get better photos. I'll take my big camera and my newest lens. That should work!
Well, I guess I really should head on over to the kitchen sink and wash the dishes that are waiting for me there. I made a pot roast a couple days ago, and Pogo finished up the last of it for breakfast today. I guess that means we'll have hamburgers tonight. Well, at least Pogo will have the hamburgers. I'm not sure yet what I'll have.
So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
