An Orange Is An Orange Is An Orange - Not Always!

March 10, 2018

Good morning.  It's a beautiful day here.  The sun is shining and the temperature is 55F degrees.  In a little while, temps will be about 80F degrees.  Back home, folks are gearing up for another batch of snow.  I really am glad to be missing all this snow.

Yesterday, we ventured out to visit Old Town.  I try to go there every year because it keeps changing.  They keep adding new little shops, while some go out, and they keep adding amusement rides for  the young at heart.

There is a wonderful mineral shop there that has all sorts of wonderful things.  I love rocks, so naturally I'm attracted to this shop.  Beth is too, and she had a grand time picking out a few special rocks to fill a little drawstring bag.

In the middle of the shop, Beth found a real treasure.  There was a batch of beautiful tote bags hanging from a post.  It immediately caught Beth's eye and she went right over to it.  Oh my!  So many beautiful bags!  Which one to choose?

The back of each bag was a different color from the rest of the bags, so it was difficult to pick out the one she liked best.  Finally, she chose the one that you see hanging over her shoulder.  She left the store a very happy camper.

We walked around, and went into several of the shops.  I found this awesome tee shirt hanging in the window at one of the stores, and had to stop to take a photo.

Pogo is naturally a people pleaser, so we stopped quite often to chat with lots of folks while we were  there.  We even met  a family from Texas who had quite a few rescue doggies back home.  Everyone who missed their doggies back at home wanted to stop and pet Pogo.  Of course, he was in his glory!

On the way back to our car, we passed a building that was being painted.  Beth stopped to chat a bit with the painters, and I took a photo.

Not far from the car, there was a whole family of birds chirping away in a tree.  I tried to get a few photos, but it was difficult to get clear shots.  This is the best shot I got.

On the way home, we stopped at the big Orange Dome (store) to browse.  I bought some Honeybell oranges.  They are advertised to be so sweet.  Last night I ate one of them, and I did not find any "sweetness" in my orange.  It was rather tart!  I think it should have been named a "Lemonbell."  Ah well, it was juicy at least!

After that, we went  home and had a supper of delicious left overs.  The night before, Beth had cooked fried steaks, and there was enough for one more meal.  Add some veggies and potato salad, and yum, yum!

Today, I think we'll visit a flea market at the other end of town.  There's a few odds and ends that I want to look for.  I also need to look for a cardboard box to mail a few things home.

Now I think I'll have another cup of coffee before getting ready to go out.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

OMGosh Edna,
What a great time that we are having out and about. I think that I really fell in love with Old Town. So much to see and so much to do and I especially love meeting the people stopping to talk to Pogo. You know that he really is in his glory and he is so polite!
You asked what I forgot to buy, well I believe that I would actually love to go back just to continue to look thru the rocks and I talked Karyn and she wants an orange and lime tree so maybe we can go back over to the orange dome again. I want to get another post card for my little granddaughter.

Enjoy your tart honey bells.... I am really surprised that they are tart. I wasn't impressed today at the fruit stand because I didn't recognize very much of it lol...
Going to bed... Goodnight... Hugs and Sweet Dreams... Love, Beth
