Good morning. I guess there was a bit of thunder during the night, but I did not hear it. This morning the sun is shining and it is already in the low 70's, headed for the mid 80's. DIL is getting ready to head for the pool for a cool dip, and Pogo is curled up beside me. I brought a fuzzy bathrobe with me for Pogo to nap in.
Yesterday, we went to a flea market and walked around for a while until my legs and hips screamed "uncle". Most of my life I've enjoyed walking, so I really do miss being able to walk a lot now. On the way home, we stopped by JoAnn's for more yarn. DIL Janet also bought another pattern book.
Here is the sweater shrug that Janet has been working on all week. Last night, she finished it.
The afghan that I've been working on has only twenty six more rows to go and it will be finished too. I don't know if I'll get it finished before we leave to go home, but at least it will be almost done. We are both using the Aruba Sea (solid-Red Heart) and I'm also using the Winter Sky (mixed-Bernat) These are color swatches from JoAnn's web site.
I'm thinking that today will be another lazy day. Maybe later we can take a walk around the resort, but the rest of the day is for lounging, crocheting, reading and watching TV. DIL Janet just had to remind me that today is Friday the 13th, so it's a good day to stay put and not be out on the road. There's no point in tempting Murphy's Law.
Today I have some photos of local birds to share. The first photo is one that daughter Audrey took last week. This blackbird was just sitting up in the tree watching to see what we were all up to.
On our way out to go shopping one day last week, I spotted this mocking bird. Lucky for me, it was willing to stand still for a few moments so that I could get a few photos. Goodness, what a regal looking chap. (or chapette)
Maybe tomorrow we'll visit the other flea market for any last minute things that may catch our eye. Then it will be time to do laundry and start packing our suitcases. How quickly these two weeks have passed. But I'm not complaining. I've enjoyed every minute of being here.
Now I think I'll take my coffee and my laptop out to the porch and soak up a bit of fresh air while I catch up on some blog reading. I may post tomorrow instead of Sunday because we have to get up early Sunday morning to wait for our ride to the airport. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a really gorgeous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Oh Edna,
The birds are lovely. I have enjoyed seeing the pictures that you have shared with us.
I simply fell in love with the shrug jacket. It is gorgeous.
I did not realize that today was Friday the 13th. I am not going anywhere today although the sun is shining here this morning for the first time in ages.
For 2 days in a row, I have managed to sleep in later than normal. I have enjoyed that so much. It is a little noisy as they are re-paving our parking lot and have been sealing all of our windows but I managed to sleep thru most of it. It is still really late before I am able to fall asleep so in the scheme of things I am still probably sleeping the same amount.
No coffee. I ran out again. But it is ok. I will manage and get to the store as soon as I can. I keep saying that, but it seems that I keep pulling some kind of meal together without having to go and face the crowds.
I wish that you could stay another 2 weeks at the resort, but I know that you have things to do at home as well.
Have a great day, Hugs, Beth
Wow, it has been a fast two weeks! But you know, I've felt a little warmer every time I visit your blog! :)
The mocking bird did pose nicely.
Enjoy the last couple days of your trip. Spring IS coming up here and the north is starting to thaw out!
Hugs, Nani
I love the sweater shrug, it looks very cozy.
It sounds like you've been having a good time in Florida. We've been without internet for several days now so I'm trying to catch up a bit while I can.
