It's A Great Day To Be Retired

December 26, 2014

Well, it's the morning after Christmas, and I have to say that there was something special about this Christmas.  It was awesome.

Good morning everyone.  I surely hope that each of you enjoyed Christmas as much as Pogo and I did.  Our house was filled with sounds of joy and laughter.  Most all of the dwarfs were at home, and dwarf Helen cooked a huge delicious breakfast for everyone.  Santa had left gifts for everyone, plus we all had picked a name for the gift swap and those presents were also under the tree.

Later in the day, dwarf Helen cooked a fantastic dinner for everyone.  It was simply delicious!  I have to admit that while everyone was enjoying the dinner meal, Pogo and I were sound asleep.  I had been up most of the night, and Pogo had such an awesome exciting day.  Once we took some time to relax, we promptly fell asleep.  However, we did have our dinner once we woke up.

I tried to take a selfie of me all cuddled up in my new oh-so-soft afghan that Kyra made for me.  Gosh, it's so soft that it's no wonder I fell right to sleep

Pogo, of course, had hopped up onto his own little sofa, and was soon off to dreamland.  Sorry, but I can't help taking more photos of him.  He's just so darn cute.

Besides a new sofa, Pogo got lots of new toys, a beautiful frame, new blankets, some really nice sweaters, a rain jacket and a hunting jacket.  Yup, his very own camo jacket trimmed in orange.  Santa, and all my family and friends were very good to me too.  Amongst all my wonderful gifts, there was a thumb drive filled with photos of one of my great granddaughters and a bag full of super soft yarn.  Of course, I've already made plans for one of the new yarn colors.

Today, I think we'll just have us a lazy day.  I'm really glad that I'm retired because today is a great day to curl up in my lounge chair and crochet and watch a movie.  Pogo seems quite happy today.  He even ate every bit of his doggie food this morning.  Goodness, will wonders ever cease!!

Later I want to call Deanne to see how Kevin is doing today.  He hasn't been feeling very well these past few days.   I'm praying you get well quickly, Kevin.

Well now I think I'll make a nice hot cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading.  Till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Prayers for Kevin! Oh my goodness, I am always tickled to see you here. I had a rough morning, trying to get thru to the unemployment contact I had. It was quite ugly the things the doctors sister in law said about me so I felt so sad. But I am better as I spoke with my contact person and she helped me out. I learned some new things about unemployment as well. My hubby keeps telling me to be positive as this attorney his co worker knows liked my resume and is very interested in me. Just not until after the new year. SO I am going to make the best of it and do what I have been doing without being so sad. I loved your pretty pic. I can not take a selfie for anything! I would scare you to death! Hee Hee. My son Jeremy was my secret Santa and I have a new book to read. I am so tickled. He also bought me new jeans. Woo Hoo! We were hit with a huge storm last night. I am being a bum, still in my pjs and enjoying some quiet time. Love, love, love, seeing Pogo. He is so darn cute I am smiling! Still praying for Kevin. He will get well soon, I just know it. Hugs, Anne

Anne, I stayed in my jammies all day today too. I just relaxed and it felt good to do just nothing special at all.

I'll say a prayer that your unemployment goes well for you, and that the nice attorney comes looking for you next year with a new job. Wouldn't that be nice?

It sounds like you had a pretty nice Christmas too. Wouldn't it be super if everyone could be as blessed as we are. You have a wonderful evening, hugs, Edna B.

I love Pogo's new couch. I was hard holding your package until Christmas, but we managed. That was so sweet of you to send all the great cat themed items. I love the little sculpture of the cat in a box - it looks like George to me. The calendar is always the best gift as it's the perfect size for us and now we can begin to play 2015. George and Gracie immediately dug into the bag with their things and had the toys out of there before I could finish looking at my items. You are so sweet to do this and we thank you for the lovely surprises.
