Did You Know That Dragonflies Are Fuzzy?

July 28, 2013

Good morning.  It's 5:45 a.m. and I'm still at work.  Pretty soon though, I can pack up and go home to Pogo.   He had an especially hard time about me leaving without him last evening.  His nerves start acting up and he gets the squirties all over the place.

So, when I should have been getting into my car to leave, I was in the bathroom giving Pogo a bath.  I wrapped him in a bath towel, and gave him to Joe to dry him off.  Then I had to go back into my place and start cleaning up everywhere.   I barely made it to work on time.   God Bless that little guy of mine.  He surely does keep my life interesting.

My friend Donna asked to see a photo of the side yard now that it is looking better.  I took this photo yesterday.  A lot of the blooms are gone or knocked off from the rain, but there are lots of new buds on the bushes.  This is the front half of the side yard, and a closer shot of one of the butterfly bushes.   I'll have to take another photo when all the new buds start blossoming.

There were several dragonflies in the garden, so I was able to get some photos of them too.  Here's one of them, and a close up to show you how fuzzy he is.

At the moment, it isn't raining, but it's supposed to be rainy today and tomorrow.   I still cannot find my favorite umbrella, and I forgot to bring a different one with me last night.  Well, that's understandable.  I had a lot on my mind when I left the house for work.  I will have to remember to put one in the car when I get home this morning.

I recently read an article on "street photography" and I want to try it out.   It's mostly just different views and aspects of life on the street and around town, but between excessive heat and/or lots of rain, I haven't had a chance to get out and take some photos.  It sounds rather interesting, and I can't wait to try it.

Now it's time to check on the Mrs again.   About an hour, and I'll be on my way home.  Woo Hoo!  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Poor little boy ... I wonder why he gets so upset on some days and not others. There must be something triggering it. Izzi has been acting very strange this morning. She wants to go out to play Frisbee, but when we get out there she just walks back up to the house. Once she smelled something in the yard and then walked a big circle around it to avoid going there again. I don't know if she is not feeling well, if something spooked her or what. Like you said ... it is something new every day with these little furbabies.

I love street pictures ... I would be interested in your article if you remember where you read it. I walk around the campus and take pictures while my daughter is at the dental clinic. Sometimes the buildings catch my attention and sometimes the people walking around with me catch my attention. It is fun and I get some good shots now and then. I have a series I started with Izzi where I go places and then insert her picture in them. I may post them someday ... I have to decide if I want to give Izzi her own blog ... I am not happy with her page because people can't comment on each post. Oh well, I will figure it out in time. Hope you have a lovely Sunday ... your yard looks great and I will be looking forward to your blooms. I am waiting for my Hybiscus to bloom. I thought they hadn't made it through the winter because they were so late in coming up again ... but, thankfully, they are here and soon to bloom, I think:) Be well, Edna and Give that little boy a special hug ... so sorry he worries about you. But, that's what they do when they love their Moms ...

Could be interesting, that street photography! Now idea what it is really about, but you will explain more of it I guess.
Poor Pogo, how strange that it sometimes happens he gets all stressed up, knowing you have to leave without him, and at other times he stays rather cool.
We will never get to understand our pets completely, here the same sometimes with our Brodski.
Your yard looks so great! Love to see more photos of it, when things are blooming again.
Are yopu done with work for the next couple of days? Hopefully yes, you could do with some free time!
Take care, have a lovely day,
Hug

I loved the dragonfly photo, especially the close up. They are such interesting creatures and really need to be seen close up to appreciate all their detail.
