Internet Withdrawal Is Not Pretty

June 10, 2013

Good morning.  The sun is shining and the temp is around 72F.  We have rain coming later today or this evening, but the day is beautiful.  I guess the rain will be here for a couple of days, with a chance of some flooding.  We will just have to wait and see.

Today is Mandarin Orange Monday, so I dug out a photo of a sunset that I took last summer.  We got to the beach early that night, and watched the sun right up until it disappeared down behind the trees.

In a little while, Pogo and I will be going out to do some errands.  I've gotten so far behind with everything these past few weeks.  It will probably take me all week to catch up.  I thought I would do a bit of blog reading last night after the Mrs went to bed, but that was not to be.  There was no internet access.  I guess it's gone for good because the neighbor with the wifi put a lock on it.

Let me tell you, internet withdrawal is just not funny!  The first couple of hours is filled with desperation, and then the reality and depression sets in.  Not nice!!  Goodness, how did I get so dependent on the internet?

I have a couple of cute duck photos to share with you.  These are part of the duck family that lives with the swan family.

I'm watching the Weather Channel, and I can't get over how drastically our weather system has changed since last year.  There are more and more severe storms, and they create such devastation and heartbreak.  There is no real "safe" place in the country, but the central states seem to be getting hit the hardest.  It's a sad situation.

Now I think I'll mosey on out to the kitchen and rustle up some breakfast for us.  Pogo has been sitting next to me, waiting patiently for me to finish posting.  He is such a love.  I think maybe I'll cook up some hamburger and rice for him.  That's one of his favorites, and it's good for him.

That's all the news for this morning.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Such a beautiful sunset! Wow!!! And I love the pictures of the ducks. You are so good.

Rainy days here too. But it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend. I don't mind the rain if I have to work anyway.

OMG ... No Internet at work! How can that be. Why would the neighbor put a lock on it. What is his/her problem? Now I am not sure but I think you can buy something to connect to your computer that allows you to use it when you arn't in a WiFi zone. My friend got it when she was riding with her husband who is a trucker. Check it out ... stop at Best Buy and see what they have. We can't have you silenced on work days/night.

Florida has the best sunsets. When my parents lived down there we would always drive over to the Gulf and watch the sun disappear. No two the same ... and always breath taking. So naturally they are perfect for MOM, right?

If you have Orioles in your area you shouldn't have any problem getting a feeder for them. They are always orange because they are attracted to that color. They also like grape jelly so you can put that out too. Our Orioles don't stay all summer. they spend the Spring here and then they go somewhere else to nest. Not sure why that is ... maybe because we are so close to the water. But this year they are still here ... later than usual. I keep hoping someday they will decide to stay. But, so far not ... I keep expecting to get up some morning and they will be gone. Then I can focus on the hummingbirds. I am boiling up syrup several times a week when both of them are here, so there is some relief when the Orioles go ... sitll would rather they stay though :)

We are having a gray day here ... we are supposed to get showers on an off all day then by tomorrow, clear, humid and in the 90's... UGH We can't seem to get it right around here. I know what you mean by all of the devastating weather ... knock on wood we haven't had much of it here. We did have flooding in the area, but that was minor when you compare it to what was happening in Oklahoma ... that was just awful. They are telling us to get used to it because as the temperature of the oceans goes up, they will generate more serious storms and that is where it all comes from. Oh my ...

Well, it's Monday and I have a few things I need to get done before I forget about them. You have a wonderful day with Pogo ... Izzi sends licks and woofs.

Oh boy, that's misery not having access to internet when you're at work!
Isn;t there something to arrange with the neighbour?
Or perhaps you should try Andre's suggestion.
I really have no idea what you could do.
Hope you soon will find a solution.
You have a great day with Pogo, after a delicious breakfast.

gorgeous sunset and so perfect for MOM! Love the duck photos too, so nice and clear! Geez, I would like to each as well as Pogo!! LOL! don't we spoil our fur babies to pieces? (I know I do!)
Weather here hit 100 at Love Field (Dallas) but not at the DFW Airport (the official site 20 miles away)and to be 97 today but 100 by Thursday! I think Summer has arrived in North Texas!! Too warm for me! Yes, it is a weird weather pattern this year all over the world it seems! Way too much devastation.
Hope you have a beautiful day and find a fix for the internet problems at work. Hugs to you and Pogo! Mat

Love your ducks - but especially like your peaceful orange sunset-fantastic.
And as for internet withdrawal...I know that feeling. I have been staying at a friend's place over the weekend and couldn't remember the password. Luckily, my friend rang....
Thanks again for being part of Mandarin Orange Monday and I do apologise for the lateness of my response.
