Henrietta Stops In For A Visit

August 7, 2011

Good wet morning.  Yup, the rain finally caught up with us.  It came down in spasms all through the night, and I guess that's how it's going to be for the next few days.  Well, that's okay.  The gardens and lawns need a big drink.

I suppose by now you are wondering who Henrietta is.  I'm not sure when she came into the house, but around 3 a.m. this morning she was wandering around the sink and the plants on the window sill.  I think she was looking for a safe place to lay some eggs.  I tried to tell her that she should really be looking around outdoors, but she was ignoring me.  So I did the next best thing and got out my camera and took photos of her.

How many other people do you know who chit chat with grasshoppers?   Even though she would not talk to me, you can see that she kept her eye on me.   She wasn't very excited about me taking photos of her, and finally hopped behind the plants and out of sight.

I also have some neat photos of yesterday's dragonfly.  Usually, they just sit and let me take all the photos I want, but this one was a bit leery and kept his eye on me the whole time.  Every minute or so, he would fly to a different blossom or bush.  He probably thought that would discourage me and I would leave.  Wrong!!

Well, that's all for today.  I'm at work and it's time to check on the Mrs. and then start getting ready to go home.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Henrietta is a bit stubborn LOL! I hope she will get to her senses and go outside to lay her eggs!!!
Dragonfly pics are wonderful. I love to watch them, they are kind of spectacular, don;t you think?
Okay, some rain is good, but hopefully there will be dry periods in between to, because ALL day rain is no real fun.
Have a lovely day.

I'm going to have to post the dragonfly photo my Rina took with my camera my birthday weekend. They are pretty neat critters to photograph!
