Beware of Doctor Assistants With Huge Needles!

August 10, 2011

Good morning!  It's a bit gray and cooler outside and it feels soooooo good!  Yesterday's doctor visit went well until he decided that I needed a pneumonia shot.  Let me tell you, this girl with the huge needle will never get near any part of my body again if I can help it.  As the day wore on, my arm grew bigger and bigger, and more and more painful.

At the store, I dropped the large bag of birdseed that I was trying to lift into my shopping cart.  And by late afternoon, I could not use the arm at all.  There was a lump the size of a grapefruit where the needle had gone in.  The lump and the rest of the arm felt like a solid forty pound weight stuck to my body.

Needless to say, I had a really bad night with very little sleep.  I could not turn over or change position easily.  At some point, I took a couple of Aleve, which seemed to help a little bit.  Aside from all of this, my health appeared to be okay except for my cholesterol which was too high.  I have an appointment next month with a nuitritionist to see if I can change my diet a bit to lower my cholesterol.

There's not much else for news today.  My grandson starts a new job today, and my yellow rose tree is loaded witih new bud and a couple of new blossoms.  Even the hibiscus has lots of new buds getting ready to bloom.  Here's are photos of today's rose and a wine colored hibiscus.

Now I think I'll have me a cup of coffee, and see what mischief I can get into today.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh dear, so sorry to hear your visit at the doctor wasn't completely harmless. Ooops, I am not in favour of any needles that have to enter my body, but I would certainly knocked down the assistant, LOL!
Hope your painful arm will be better really soon!
Glad that in general you were okay, now just a bit careful for your cholesterol.
You rose and hibiscus are looking wonderful!
Have a great day,
Hugs

Ouch. It's good to know that you won't need that shot for a long time again if ever. Sounds like once was enough.
