Two More Parts Of "Cat In The Basket"

March 14, 2011,

Good morning. 'Tis a cool gray morning here in my little part of New England. This week promises to be in the 40's and 50's, so I'm thinking that surely Spring is not too far off. There are bits of green poking through the dirt in my little garden, so I think I'll uncover my hibiscus plant this week. Hopefully, it made it through the Winter unharmed. When Moo gave it to me last summer, it had huge white blooms the size of dinner plates. So I have my hopes up that it will do the same this year.

Last night was a good work night. The Mrs. was actually glad to see me. Usually, she reserves her cranky side for me, but I guess it's true that absence makes the heart grow fonder. It felt strange not having the internet at my disposal, but I used the time to read some of my magazines that came while I was away. Two of them were flower catalogues. Woo Hoo!! I want one of everything!!
*
I think I might like to order some purple hydrangeas, and a few plants that will attract hummingbirds and butterflies. I also want to plant some new hedge plants. My hedges out front are very old and sparse. They need something to fill in all the bare spots. I just have to make up my mind if I want hedge roses, hedge rose of sharon, or fiery red hedges. Oh my!! Such a problem!!

Speaking of flora, I have two photos to share of the beautiful flora in Florida. This plant was like a tree, with large fuzzy rosy red blossoms. I don't know the name of it but it is just simply beautiful!!

Today, Miss Su and I are each posting two more parts to "Cat In The Basket." When you finish downloading here, hop on over to Su's blog and pick up her parts. Don't forget to stop a moment to say thank you. It surely goes a long way.

Driving my new car to work last night was quite an experience. I had taken the time to figure out the headlights and the wipers, but I did not need them. I did not, however, read up on how to work the radio, so I was just poking buttons and getting nowhere fast.
*
Then this morning I tried to lock the doors while the car motor was running to warm things up a bit, but found that I could not get them to lockwith the automatic door lock. So I locked them the old fashioned way, by pressing the lock button from the inside. This made another problem because now I could not open them with the new automatic door opener. Back to the old fashioned way with a key. I guess I have a bit of reading up to do this week before I go too far in my car.
*
I do not have a preview yet for Su's part of the kit, but when I get one I will come back in and post it. Now it's time to do a few things around here. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantastic day.

Here in Australia we call that bush/tree the "bottle brush". The Botanical name for it is Callistemon. It is a native plant to Australia. They really are pretty and grow well as hedges.

I wish we could grow them here, they sure are pretty. I'm happy I inspired decluttering and eating cake. I think the pink snowballs count.

Hahaha, it's always tricky when there is a new thing you have to get familiar with, like e.g. cars! Oh so nice, all those gadgets and electronical things, but you'll have to do almost a lesson at university, to get to know and handle it LOL.
Have a nice day
Hugs
Kyra
