A Good Day To Be Outside

May 18, 2022

Good morning.  Tis another really nice day.  Sunny and warm.  After I finish this post, I'll be taking my crocheting out to the porch.  It is so relaxing to watch and listen to all the birds.

Yesterday I sat out for a few hours, and it felt really good.  SIL Eddie stopped by on his way home from work and fixed my outdoor camera.  Now I can see when someone is coming in my driveway. (when I'm indoors)

Eddie mentioned something about my lawns being mowed, but I think it's a bit too early.  I imagine there are homes with baby rabbits and other small creatures hidden in the grass.  Maybe we should wait till sometime in June.   Also, I think there are still some dandelions that are not ready yet to disappear,

Does anyone ever wonder what the plants think when we cut them down or remove all their blossoms?  Or maybe how a mother rabbit feels when she has to move her babies to another home?  There is so much that we never give thought to.

I have a bag full of junk mail that I think I'll take out to the porch with me.  This should keep me busy for a few hours.  Maybe even two afternoons.  Tomorrow temps should reach sixty degrees.  The weekend temps should be in the nineties.  Next week's temps should be back to springtime normal.

The morning is almost gone and I have things to do.  So, till Friday, stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

It never crossed my mind to be concerned about the baby bunnies in the grass when the lawn is moved. I think I've been kind of insensitive.....

If the lawn isn;t bothering you being a bit higher, then let it and better is when there are some wildflowers in it, good for the bees. And as you say, you have lots of wildlife around, so may be indeed some birds, or rabbits have a nest.
Nice of Eddy to fix the camera, you must feel better with it.
And how lovely to be able to sit outside for a while, and the sound of birds is so wonderful.
We have still ice weather here, warm, even a bit of rain at night, but temperatures will fall down somewhat this weekend. Still it will be fine.
Have a beautiful day, enjoy the time on the porch.
Hugs
Kyra

You're basically doing "No-Mow May" like we are! It's supposed to help insects by allowing more plants (like dandelions) to flower. Good luck!

Have a wonderful day sitting out in your porch crocheting or sorting your junk mail and listening to the birds. Since I don't have a porch, I like leaving my backdoor opened with just the screen door closed, listening to the birds too.

Oh Edna I think of the dandelions all of the time, especially like last place we lived, we had a lot of dandelions and would wait as long as possible to mow our grass.

I am happy to hear that your sitting on the porch listening to the birds!
That seems like a wonderful day. And having Eddie fix the camera was great as well.

You have a fantastic day. xoxoxo

It's nice that you can fray be outdoors listening to nature Edna. Hearing this makes me wish we had a porch to sit on like we did in VA, but the mill arts do not have any seating space outdoors except for a couple of metal benches. Too bad about the continuing junk mail issue because it is time consuming to sort through it.
