Still Waiting For That Fedex Delivery

October 5, 2021

Good morning.  Today is probably going to be a gray drying out day.  It rained through most of the night so everything is soaked.  Temps today should stay in the fifties.

Yesterday's package never did arrive.  I called Fedex and was told that one of the drivers was out sick and therefore several packages (mine included) would not be delivered until today.  It would have been nice if they had notified me.  So today I'm keeping a watch to see when the package comes.

I also did a bit of research about the check that came in the mail.  It seems that it was payment for a book that had come in the mail that I had not ordered and sent back.  I guess this is something we have to watch out for.  When you return something that you did not order, you should also check your credit cards to see if the company has already been paid for the (un-ordered) item.  In this case, the company had billed a credit card that I had used when I purchased an earlier item.  Are they supposed to keep your credit information on file?

Well, I finished reading my book "Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker."  It was a great book and I recommend it for anyone, especially history buffs.  In the book, I learned that the Dressmaker, Elizabeth Keckley, had written a book.  So, I found it on Amazon and ordered it.  It should arrive tomorrow.

Do you remember the old saying "If my mother were alive today, she'd be rolling over in her grave" ?  Well my mother would definitely be rolling.  Over and over.  Some of today's newer TV commercials would have my mother rolling in fits.  She was old school and there were some things that we just never talked out loud about.  Anyone in my age group will know what those taboo subjects were.

The latest of these commercials is about a birth control product.  It starts out with a woman in an all pink room, saying "Welcome to my vagina."  She's expecting company, and tells us all about her newest birth control item.  Oh Lord, my poor mother!

Then to make matters worse, I went to look something up on Google and this article popped up.

Do you believe that someone actually paid  to have this topic researched?  Did I read it? Yes.  And I was dumbfounded at how many very wealthy women actually wanted this issue explained to them.  There were several well known names mentioned in the article.  Although the article did not have a definite answer, it did mention several different methods currently being used. Aye Yi Yi Yi Yi!

You know, some days it's good to be old.  You won't find many eighty year olds wearing bodysuits.  So this won't be a problem for us.

This is enough excitement for me so I'm going to do some blog reading now.  Till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I roll my eyes and refuse to buy products from these advertisers, it's so disgusting.
There's one lately about women "pooping" a pro-biotic advert and I wouldn't buy it if that was the last product on earth.
The times we are living in, I'm happy to say I am on the back-side of life.
Hope your package arrives today, it can become frustrating.
Hugs,
~Jo

There are some very "strange"commercials. Same here, sometimes. And I am not amused about them, sorry.
Letting you know that the package couldn;t be delivered would have been nice, but perhaps it is not easy to check all out and know who to send a message.
Hope it will be delivered today.
Have a nice day, although it might be grey. we had some really heavy rainshowers during the day and it seems some more will come during the evening.
Hugs

I know what you mean. I hate all the drug commercials and don't really want to see someone with a really bad rash or bad complexion! SHEESH! I'm glad I don't watch much tv, I would learn more bad words! hahahaha! Hugs!

Oh Lord, my Uncle Louie would say, when someone called his home at dinnertime, I wasn't sick to my stomach until you interputed my dinner. Now I'm hanging up, because I have a bad diarrhea from your call. HaHaHa
The commercials are sickening. I love the Elvis Presley song, A Little Less Conversation. Now they use it for a Viagara commercial. G R O S S !
I have never liked any of this nonsense and flip the mute button on. My dad use to say, I might have to look at you but I don't have to listen to you! He loved that TV mute button.
I have books to read but these books sure sound great. Have to get them before they are banned like our Constitution. You know, fake history and all that stuff.
I am dumfounded daily of the ignorance of Americans. People learned nothing from WWIII, Hitler and 9-11.
So I Sit here and pray. I trust no one but GOD Himself.

Sorry about the package, Fedex is the least favorite delivery company where I live. I hope you finally got it. The commercials are awful! Feminine product ones are another one giving way to much information and descriptions that make me cover my 67 year old face:) Thanks for the book review, sounds like a good one! Enjoy your evening dear friend, BIG HUGS!

Oh, you have me laughing about the commercials. My mother used to say the same thing about HER mother. We'd see a commercial on TV for an intimate product, and my Mom would say, "Boy, my mother should see THIS!" My grandmother was always shocked at what would get on the air!

On the other hand, I guess it's not so terrible that we talk about these things. We're all human, after all, and some of these are necessary products.

I am sorry about your package. Amazon fresh delivered $62 worth of groceries to someone else and had the nerve to keep the $5 tip we gave them. I fought them hard to get my money back. Considering there are 5 of us who live here, we do not need two gals of Milk, we don't need 10 lbs. of hamburger or chicken or turkey. I was so offended. But next time, if there is a next time, I order, they will not be getting a tip unless they knock on my front door. They handed my groceries to the wrong house and the morans took my stuff. I was so mad. I had ordered extra migraine Excedrin for Nick so they took our meds, our cold drinks and our fresh meat and veggies. So upsetting. Sorry for my rant. It is over.
Take care.
