We're Having A Heat Wave!

August 12, 2021

Good morning.  It's nice outside right now, but soon it will be hot, hot, hot!  We're having a doozy heat wave.  It's really too hot to do much of anything, so you do what you can early in the morning.  I do feel bad for all the folks who have to go to work in these hot temps.  Not all jobs are air conditioned.  And not all cars either, I guess.  (for traveling to and from work)

Well, Joe finally came home from the hospital late yesterday afternoon.  He picked up a few of his things, then went to pick up his prescribed antibiotics, then went to stay with one of his sisters for a while.  We won't know for a while what's going to happen with his appendix.  We just have to wait until his doctor figures it out.

I've just learned of an interesting new product (from TV ads) that I thought I would share.  This is something that a lot of us might want to look into.  It's called Cardio Mobile. I think I'll ask my doctor about this.  It could be a very useful tool to have on hand.

It's too hot to crochet, but if I'm awake during the night, I do try to put a few rows on one of the pocket wraps.  Last night, I worked on the yellow one.  I still have to finish the baby hat, but I'm going to wait till it's a wee bit cooler.  Speaking of baby hats, we're going to find out this weekend the gender of Granddaughter Mia's new baby.  (expected in February)

Granddaughter Jasmine will be leaving the end of this month to go to Smith College, Northampton. Great granddaughter, Hailey, has been accepted to Suffolk University, Boston.  I'm almost jealous!  I'd love to be going back to school.

Before I go, I want to remind you, if it's too hot outside for you, it's too hot for your pets.  And maybe you could put out some fresh water for some of the smaller critters in your yard.  AND, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS IN YOUR CAR FOR ANY REASON.  LEAVE THEM HOME.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Good advice on the pets. Sorry about your heat wave! Hope it's not too uncomfortable. And bravo for Hailey and Jasmine, off on their adventures in education!

It's hot here too and HUMID! No need to do my hair, it frizzes and looks like Phyllis Diller:) I have water out for roaming pets because we don't have any and my hummingbird is full, they are constantly giving me joy. Enjoy your day and I will pray that Joe will get his appendix fixed and heal nicely! HUGS!

Send a little bit of the heat our direction, next week we could do with some better temperatures, if the forcast is right!
And stay in the coll as much as you can.

Great to have great-granddaughters going to college.

Good to hear Joe is going to one of his sisters for a while, there he can be taken care of. Hopefully there soon will be known what will happen with him.

Have a wonderful day, stay cool and safe.
Hugs
Kyra

yes, it's definitely a heat wave in New England, and our a/c is very welcome now. We are going outside tonight for an ice cream social being hosted by management for residents. It sure is a perfect day for it!
