White Sunflowers

August 17, 2021

Good morning.  Tis another lovely day here in New England.  Lots of sunshine and temps reaching eighty degrees.   Gardens are loving the cooler days too.  Lots of new blooms are opening and some of the roses are beginning to blossom again.

For those of use who are not familiar with heat stroke in our pets, I borrowed this very interesting article from the web.  If you click on it, the words will appear larger.  If you still can't read it, let me know and I'll type it out.

I was busy yesterday, but other than making up a new grocery order to be delivered (just staples) I can't remember what I was busy with.  I did put a few more rows on the new baby blanket.  I'll do a few more this afternoon.  Yesterday, I did not go out to water my plants, so I'll have to do that today.

Aha!  Laundry!  I can do a load or two or laundry.  I used to love doing the laundry.  Not so much now.  I know I should be grateful that I can still do my laundry (actually, I really am grateful) but for some reason I just don't enjoy doing it anymore.  I suppose we all have days like that.

Have any of you ever seen a white sunflower?  I never did, but I found this picture on the web and borrowed it.  Wow, such a beautiful flower!

I did some research and found these seeds available on Etsy.  I just looked up white sunflowers.

This is so interesting.  I just may buy a packet of these seeds to see if we can grow the white sunflower.  I've never had much luck growing sunflowers.

Now I think I'll watch "Judge Judy" for a while.  She takes no guff from anyone and is a lot of fun to watch.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

We all have those days, busy, but not remembering with hat, hahahaha.
Oh, how beautiful those white sunflowers are! Didn;t know there existed in the real big form. It is difficult to grow sunflowers so they will bloom. slugs and snails are loving the young , just growing up, sunflowers. So best is to grow them in bigger pots, let them grow half size and then plant in the garden. (or leave them in a big container, of course.)

I made us a stew today with fresh endive in it and some crispy slices of bacon in it and some diced, b raised onion in it. It's in the oven now to warm up and we will have a small hamburger with it.

Hope the nice weather stays on in your area, today we had some rain, temps 16C, not more.

Have a wonderful day, have fun with the laundry LOL
Hugs
Kyra

I'd never thought of pets getting heatstroke but it makes sense - especially the ones who have thick fur coats. There's a field of sunflowers growing near me, an unusual crop in the UK, but they won't be like those stunning white ones.

Never have seen a white sunflower! Really pretty.
Yes, we have to be kind to our animals in the heat, too.
Judge Judy is a hoot! :)

Beautiful flowers and always love doing laundry. But I know about days when you just want to curl up and rest. I get lots done early and then have to rest. Aging ain't for sissies is it?
