Rain, Rain, Please Stay A While

August 19, 2021

Good morning.  I know it rained a bit here because the ground outside is wet.  But I don't see any rain coming down now.  According to my phone app, it's supposed to rain today.  I certainly hope so.  We sure could use some rain.

Well, so how did my grocery delivery go yesterday?  Would you believe?   They were out of almost everything on my list.  Even cases of my favorite spring water.  I had to order a few gallon bottles.  I always check off  "no substitutions" because I have to check the nutrition label first on everything I buy.  Yet they were sending me four substitutes.  I called the store and told them "NO substitutes".

WalMart used to be stocked with just about everything you could want.  But not so anymore.  I wonder why.  I haven't heard of any shortages of food items in the other markets.  I guess I'll have to see about ordering from a different market once in a while.

I put a few more rows on the new baby blanket.  This pattern sure does a lot longer to do.  All this time and I only have thirty rows done.  This will most likely be the only time I'll make this pattern.  I have to admit though, it is really pretty.

My cousin was telling me about the new flagpole that her husband put up in their front yard.  I always wanted one of those tall flag poles.  Here's an image that I borrowed from the web.  I hope all school children are still learning the Pledge Of Allegiance.,

I still have to do the laundry.  Maybe later today I'll do a couple loads.  That and put a few more rows on the blanket.  I'll get it done yet.

This morning, I'm watching Perry Mason.  Afterwards, I'm going to enjoy listening to some Country Western music from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.  It's a documentary program by Ken Burns.  It's also my favorite kind of music.

Now I'm off to enjoy some TV and to do a bit of blog reading.  Let me leave you with a giggle to start your day.

So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

It must be very frustrating to order groceries and almost nothing is delivered, because it seems to be out of stock. May be it is a good thing as you said to sometimes change from market.
Oh, there are so lovely stitches around for making things, but some do take quite long(and I like fast going stuff, LOL).
I am looking around for perhaps trying a sweater, a very easy one, but not too chunmy, something for needles 4mm or perhaps 5.
Not found something I really like starting right away so the search has to go on.
Listening sme music always is nice, I like to that when I am at the computer.
Rainy here today, tomorrow should be better.

Loved the giggle, I can see it as a film before my eyes.
Have fun watching Perry Mason and perhaps laundry(which isn't as much fun).
Ha e a lovely day,
\Hugs

Here in the UK, Covid has complicated the "supply chain" for farmers and food producers, and some agricultural products are in short supply. Maybe that's going on there, too?

I have never ordered from Walmart, but I have the same problem with our local supermarket. So now I go in myself. Well, most of the time. Every now and then I order online. Hope you get this straightened out.

Sorry to hear you had such a problem with your grocery order. People say there are similar problems here in the UK, but so far I haven't noticed anything - touch wood! I'd watch any music documentary by Ken Burns, they're all interesting even if you don't like the music.

Many of my family members use the delivery services, I never have but understand the "no substitutions". I am pretty finicky about the stuff I use. Happy that you got some rain, the sun is shining here today. I am happy about that because I need to get out. That is funny about the wife snipping the grass, not so funny for the man:0 haha Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
