Another Sizzling Day

August 13, 2021

Good morning.  Yup, today is another broiler!  Hot and sticky!  I went out early this morning to water my plants.  According to my phone, we don't have any rain coming till the wee hours tomorrow morning, and only for a short time.  We'll see.

Yesterday, Deanne came by and we went to Dairy Queen to enjoy a delicious ice cream sundae.  Mine was strawberry and hers was pineapple.  Yum, Yum!  I wish they were a lot closer to my house.  I'd be there every day for a treat.

On the way from Dairy Queen, we stopped by the park to see how the swan families were doing.  One family had three young uns, but only two have survived.  The other family had seven little ones and all of them lived.  Gosh, they are getting so big!

Off in the distance, a goose and a gull were sunbathing on a rock.

We are so very fortunate to have this beautiful park to enjoy.  There are several ponds in it and beautiful birds in all of them.

I managed to crochet a few rows on the pocket wraps in the middle of the night.  I'll wait till the temps go down a bit before finishing the baby hat.  The yarn sometimes sticks to the hands, and I don't want to mess it up.

The second crochet book that I had ordered for my friend and my cousin arrived a couple days ago, so I wrapped each of them and wrote out labels for each of the packages.  As soon as I can, I'll get them mailed.

By the way, has anyone realized that today is Friday the 13th?  Let's hope that the day turns out really well for all of us, without any mishaps.

Now I'm going to the kitchen and make a cup of coffee and some breakfast.  So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

What a great idea to go for a treat! And perhaps it is a good thing it isn;t too close, too much treats too often spoils a lot of the fun!
Yes, it is nice you are close to a beautiful park, lovely families of swans. Pity sometimes not all survive, but it is nature's way.

It is about the last nice temperature days here, perhaps tomorrow still not too bad, but then we will drop to around 18C. Bit too cold for August!

Had some cleaning energy today, so changed the bedsheets and gave the bedroom a good clean and it looks a lot better now!

Soon time for some dinner(free way for Jan and me hahaha), so I think I will boil one or two eggs and put them on a sandwich with some pepper and salt, it's yummie and is quick.

Have a lovely day,
Hugs
Kyra

Sounds like a nice outing to the park! I hadn't even realized it's Friday the 13th. Yikes! (Fortunately, here it's already 5 p.m.)

It really is fun to go out for ice cream. I used to love to get a frosty at Wendys! It's hot here but we hiked today before the rains come. Enjoy your day!

I watched two live workshops (free) online this afternoon. One on mixed media and one on bookbinding. Very nice day. What a lovely park you have nearby. :)

The ice cream sounds so good. The kids and I had some after dinner night before last. Celeste and I decided on rainbow sherbet and Alex chose cookies and cream. It was really nice to just enjoy ice cream with the kids. No expectations just a lot of yums and mmm's.

I am feeling rather tired today and I am going to lay down and maybe drift off to sleep in a little while reading something fun.

I love the park and the photos. I am sorry that one did not survive but happy that the others have. Sometimes Nature can be cruel but it is what it is.

xoxoxo I plan to call you when I have some privacy. I need a friend right now and I choose you!! LOL love you!

Beautiful photos. The hot weather is miserable here as we get smoke and air pollution from the California fires. U G H ! It is horrible. Hopefully Autumn or Fall will be cooler. One can pray on it.
