March 30, 2018
Good morning. It's early, but I have a very early morning appointment with my tax accountant. How did that happen? I was reading the paperwork that my accountant had sent to me a few months ago, and finally saw a line that I had missed. It read "I cannot guarantee that any information received after March 31 will be filed before the deadline."
What? Oh no, I still had columns to add and I didn't even have an appointment. I called the accountants office and was told that the only appointment he had open before sometime next week was at nine o'clock this morning. I had no choice. I had to take it!
So, I spent most of yesterday adding tons of numbers and totaling all my columns. I just hope that my totals are correct. I am not a numbers person. Please, I will do your laundry for you if you will just do all these numbers for me!
Once I got done with all this adding, I started new pages for 2018. I've already made my way through my checkbooks. Next, I'll do all the receipts and credit card statements. Hopefully, I can keep this up throughout the year. This will make next year's task so much easier.
Meanwhile I will see about getting me a new adding machine. One with paper so that I can check my addition easily for mistakes. I tried using the calculator on my phone, but if there are more than three or four numbers to be added, my pudgy little fingers always manage to make a mistake and hit a few wrong keys. I need to be able to see the numbers printed out on paper in order to check for mistakes.
The first thing I did this morning after I made my coffee was to get out the slow cooker and start my supper. Pogo and I are having a corned beef and cabbage meal tonight. Yum! Yum! It's one of the things that I had ordered from Omaha Steaks. I'll let you know how it comes out.
Once we are finished at the accountant's office, Pogo and I will head over to the gunsmith's store and pick up my gun. Then we'll head to the bank before coming back home. If my breathing is good, maybe we'll stop by Ocean State Job Lot and do a bit of shopping. Pogo loves this store. Everyone there loves him and he gets to meet a lot of people.
Before I take my leave, I want to share a really cute photo of Pogo's little friend, Cisco. He's resting in his bed with his new blanket and his Piggy baby. Isn't he just the cutest little fellow? Cisco, we hope you are having a super day today. Hugs and woofs to you Sweetie.
Now I really must get going here. It's time to get dressed and start getting ready to leave for my morning appointment. So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

Happy Birthday Scott And Janet
March 29, 2018
Good morning. Today is another awesome day here in New England. It's sunny, and the temperature is climbing up to sixty degrees. Woo Hoo! Dare I think that Spring has finally kicked Old Man Winter in the butt?
Well, the insurance adjuster just left here. He checked out my attic, the ceiling in the back room (some of the plaster swirls were knocked off the ceiling) and my privacy fence. I gave him copies of the bills that I paid for the roof repair and the tree removal. Now he will go back to his office to total everything up and put my claim through for processing.
Today is DIL Janet's birthday, and yesterday was her hubby Scott's birthday. To both of you, I wish you an awesome day. Happy Birthday to both of you. I love you.
Janet came by last evening, but because she is taking today and tomorrow off from work, she won't be able to total my tax columns. I'll see if maybe she can do it Monday. (when she goes back to work). I need to call for an appointment with my accountant so that I can get these taxes out of the way.
I dug into my photo archives for some interesting photos that I took five years ago today. I was on my way to work on a rainy morning, and I came across a crow who was looking around for some tasty tidbits. I pulled over to take some photos and watched while he found a super catch in one of the puddles. (Ask anybody, I used to pull over to photograph most anything!)
Sometimes you find the best photo opportunities in the strangest places. This year I'm hoping to get out more with my camera. I miss the fun I used to have taking photos everywhere I went.
Today, I think I'm going to play a while on my laptop and make a few more quick pages. I find it very relaxing, plus it's fun. Later, I think I'm going to start my crocheting again. My hands are needing the exercise.
Now I think it's time to wash up the dishes that are waiting for me in the kitchen sink. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.
Hugs, Edna B.

It Looks Like Spring!
March 28, 2018
Good morning. Today is a bit damp, there are a few puddles in the yard. The temperature is 37F degrees, but working its way up to the mid fifties. The sun is trying very hard to poke out from behind the clouds. Tomorrow is promising to be another sunny warm day. Woo Hoo! I can definitely dig it!
Another woo hoo is that I don't have to go out today. Nope, I get to make a couple phone calls, and any other household chores that I deem to be exciting. Did I just say "exciting"? The only fun chore that I can think of is doing the laundry. I put it in the machine dirty, and it comes out clean. I put it into the dryer wet, and it comes out dry. I fold it and put it away. Eazy Peazy!
Well, yesterday turned out to be a busy day for me. I had planned on going grocery shopping, but first I wanted to wait for my order from Omaha Steaks to arrive. It came at 2:30. By the time I opened it, looked everything over and put it away in the freezer, I was too tired to go shopping.
Before I could put the meat order away, I had to re-arrange everything in the freezer. I decided that this was a good time to clean out everything that was old. It's amazing how much food we tuck away in the freezer and forget. Mine is a standup freezer about the same size as a refrigerator. I love it, but I found too much old and forgotten food that had to be tossed out.
Now that everything has been re-arranged, I can see everything that is in the freezer. I guess my next clean out project should be my kitchen refrigerator/freezer. Hmmm, maybe tomorrow. Today I'm setting up my new land line phone. (I already set it up and now it is charging. Now I have to read the manual on how to use it.)
Yesterday I had a lot of calls to make, but everyone I called just kept saying "Hello? Hello?" Then they would hang up on me. Needless to say, this was very frustrating. After trying everything I could think of for more than an hour, I finally decided to use my cell phone to make my calls. This worked. I finally discovered that I could get incoming calls on my land line phone, but I could not make outgoing calls.
Now I have to go shopping whether I want to or not. I need a land line phone. So, just before supper time, I went shopping. On my way to the department where the phones were, I saw a young woman at a display table telling folks about ways to lower their electric bill. You know I stopped to listen to her.
When she was done telling me about her company, I signed up to give it a try. I'll try most anything (legal) to lower this wicked bill. The new program will start in May, so I'll give you an update in late Spring. If it saves me money, the real test will come next winter when the bills are at their highest.
I finally picked out a new phone and then filled my basket with groceries. Thank goodness Joe was there to help me bring everything into the house when I got home. I was exhausted by then. But the larder is full again and the new phone works so all is well.
While we were in Florida, Beth got me a new notebook that is really neat. I'm finding that it's the perfect size for taking notes while on the phone. So thank you, Beth. I think of you and Cisco every time I write in it. Isn't this pretty?
The only phone call I did not get to make yesterday was to the insurance adjuster. So, that's who I'll be calling this morning. I also want to call Big Brother Big Sister to let them know that I have a big bag of stuff for them to pick up. Then I have a few dishes in the sink that need washing. After that, I have a whole stack of catalogues and magazines that need to be gone through before being put out in the recycle barrel.
Today I have another quick page for you. This one if flirty and whimsical. Have some fun with it.

A Good Year To Start Project "Toss And Throw"
March 22, 2018
Good morning. Brrr, tis a wee bit cold this morning. The temperature is 27F degrees. However, in a few hours it will be up in the mid forties. Gosh, I hope so. I've already made my shopping list, but I'll wait for the temperature to go up a bit before going out.
Well, I did it! Yesterday I buckled down and got all my tax stuff in columns on paper. At least I think I have it all. I just need to go over it and neaten it up a bit. Then I'll give it to DIL Janet to total the columns for me. Now I just have to call the accountant for an appointment.
Today I have a few calls to make. The first one will be to the insurance adjuster to find out when he is coming out here. I'd like to get all this storm damage stuff behind me. Then I need to call my primary care doctor's office to find out who I'll be seeing now that he is taking an early retirement.
I'm also waiting for a shipment from Omaha Steaks. Last week I treated myself to an order, and it is supposed to be delivered today. Pogo and I will be licking our chops for a while now. The last time I ordered some meat from them, it was simply delicious!
Later this week, I'd like to start a new project for this year. It's called "Toss and Throw." It's time to downsize. That should keep me busy for a few years! My efforts over the years to get rid of things weren't very successful. I'm really going to have to try hard to say goodbye to a lot of my wonderful cluttery things. Boo Hoo, Boo Hoo.
Today I have a couple more photos of the beautiful plants in Florida, and I have a couple photos that Beth took. I just love this hedge plant that is covered with blue flowers.
These next two photos were taken by Beth. These gorgeous azaleas are outside a lot of the entrances to the condos. I think this one was just a couple doors down from us.
Now I think I should get dressed and get this new day started. As you can tell, my cold seems to be getting better. At least I'm feeling so much better now. Before I take my leave, I'd like to thank everyone for their get well thoughts. I know I don't reply to the comments but I do read them every day, and I appreciate them ever so much. Thank you everyone.
I'm off now. There are a few dishes in the kitchen sink that are calling to me. "Wash me, wash me! It's off to the sink I'll go. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.
Hugs, Edna B.

What Crazy Weather!
March 26, 2018
Good morning. The sun is shining today and temps will be in the mid to upper thirties. It is supposed to warm up a bit more later in the week, but the warmth will come with rain. I wonder if we can talk Mother Nature into pointing all the rain to just the ponds and reservoirs. My yard is already soaked to the gills.
Well, yesterday I got busy and finished putting away the rest of the stuff from the suitcase. Next, I made up one end of the sofa with Pogo's blankets. This made him a very happy little doggie. It took him seconds to turn it into one of his happy places. (scrunchy blankets, etc)
I got out all my bills and receipts from last year and started organizing them for tax purposes. At this point I got interrupted. There are always things that need taking care of in this house. So off I went. I did get back to my chores soon, and have things ready to start working on today.
This morning I put on the Weather Channel to find out if we were going to be the recipients of more snow this week. Wow, what nasty storms in the central part of the country. There's a lot of rain and
thunderstorms moving all over the South and Southeast. Now if only we had put in all those water pipes that I was spouting about over the years, we'd be all set for the wild fires that will be coming next.
I was going to go to the market today, but I'm going to hold off until tomorrow. I'd really like to get this tax stuff done. We have plenty of food in the house for tonight, so Pogo and I are okay. I keep the freezer stocked with his favorite hamburgers, so my little guy will never have to worry about going hungry.
Today I have photos of some of the hedges and bushes that can be found all over the place at my time share resort. They are so different from the ones around here. I find them absolutely fascinating.
Well, my coffee is finished, and I want to do a bit of blog reading before I start my taxes. On that happy (?) note I think I'll take my leave. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

More Snow! Groan, Groan, Groan!
March 25, 2018
Wow, I had two paragraphs all typed here, and Google wiped them away! Some days you just can't win! I woke up this morning to find everything covered with the white stuff again, and now Blogger is playing games.
Maybe it's really just me. When these pudgy little fingers are flying around the keyboard, maybe they hit an occasional wrong key. Maybe the wrong key is an eraser. I'm trying to be nice here. I'm still trying to figure out how they may have hit upon the "delete" key which is way up in the right hand corner of the keyboard. Hmmm, some things I'll just never know.
I've been seeing a lot of ads on TV about the Galaxy Forever program. I'm wondering if it's only available on Sprint and what exactly it is. It might be nice to be able to swap (it said "swap" not "buy") your cell phone every year for an updated version. But only if you did not have to change your carrier. I'll have to do a bit checking.
A few days ago, a pattern I had ordered arrived in the mail. This one is for dresses for the bathroom tissue dollies. The kind that I bought. Now when all my tax stuff is done, I can try again to make these dolly dresses. The pattern even came with a free pattern for a tissue box cover. Aren't these pretty?
The first thing I'm going to do once I finish this post is to make a fresh cup of coffee and finish putting away the last of the things that were in my suitcase. It's been such a hectic week, that I never did get around to finish putting everything away. I do believe it's time to finish it now.
Can you guess what I had for breakfast this morning? Go ahead, take a guess. You'll never guess! I had a yen for, and so I made ..........ta da! A peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Yup, good ole PB&J. And did it ever taste good! I can always have a bowl of cereal for lunch to make it all right.
Today I have a fun quick page for you. We're all wanting warm weather, even these adorable little chicks. I love nature. Can you tell? Have fun with this.

Now I think I should get started on a few chores here. Knowing me as well as I do, if I wait much longer to get started, I'll find an excuse not to start. hahaha. Sometimes it's just not fair knowing me as well as I do!

Snuffle, Snuffle, Cough, Cough
March 23, 2018
Good morning. Yup, I've caught me a doozy of a cold. Well, it figures. Things shouldn't run too smoothly. It just wouldn't seem right somehow. Thank goodness for Bag Balm. Yesterday my nose was as red as a beet. I put Bag Balm all over the redness, and shortly most of the red (and the soreness) was gone.
This morning, shortly after 7 a.m. the dumpster company was here to pick up their dumpster. I listened to the clanging and banging, and just rolled over for some more snoozes. Pogo has been trying to get me up since 2:30 in the morning to feed him but I told him to go back to bed. When I'm feeling crappy with a cold, I'm in no mood to be serving meals all through the night.
Pogo is all set now though. I gave him a plate full of steak for breakfast. He ate what he wanted, and the rest goes in he refrigerator. I'm not sure what we'll do for supper tonight. It will depend on how I feel later on.
I had hoped to get out today to do a couple chores. That will have to wait now for a few more days. Maybe by Monday we can take care of the errands. Meanwhile I need to focus on getting over the worst of this cold. As long as my tax stuff is done by Tuesday or Wednesday, DIL Janet can total everything up on Thursday.
Today I have photos to share of some of the beautiful flowers at my time share resort.
Everywhere you look, there are beautiful blossoms, and different types of palm trees. It's really a very pretty place. Very peaceful and soothing. I've been going there since the mid eighties, and it's as pretty now as it was when we first started going there.
Now I think I'll do a bit of blog reading, and settle into my lounge chair for a while. So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

My Roof Is Fixed! Woo Hoo!

Good morning. Guess what? Yup, it's snowing. The snow started sometime late last evening, and I guess it will stop sometime today. I'm glad to say that it held off until well after my roof repair was finished. I am very thankful for that.
Yesterday morning I went outside at 6:50 to move my car, and the dumpster was already being backed into my driveway. All of the working crew were in their car by the sidewalk just waiting for seven o'clock to begin work. Wowsie!
Have you ever seen a pink dumpster? This was my first.
The work crew got busy right away, and kept at it until the roof was finished at 2:45 p.m. At one point, I heard a weird noise and went out on the porch to see what it was. The guys were using a gadget that was completely new to me. The item was attached to one of the ladders. You put a heavy bundle of roof shingles on it and it lifted the bundle up to the roof. Awesome!
I took a tiny video of this because it was so fascinating. and I'm going to see if I can upload it here.
Once you click the start arrow, don't blink. It's a very tiny video. I was just so fascinated with it thinking of all the back and leg pain that it eliminated from lifting and carrying these heavy bundles.
Well, the worst of all the storm damage has now been repaired, and now I just have to wait for the adjuster to come out to check out the attic and my fence. Hopefully, after that my claim can be processed and I can get paid. My emergency savings is looking really sad now. (But I'm ever so thankful that it was there when I needed it!)
I want to thank everyone for their well wishes and good thoughts during all of this. Knowing you have friends and family who care makes it so much easier to get through the difficult times. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I'm so blessed to have you in my life.
Today I need to get busy around here. I still have things to put away, and then I need to sit down and finish putting my tax stuff together. I did not take any of it with me on vacation. I already had enough on my mind. So that's what I'll be doing today and probably tomorrow. DIL Janet said that she will total up all my columns when I'm done. After that I can call my accountant for an appointment to take all of this to him.
Before I get started on today's chores, I'm going to have a second cup of coffee and read a few blogs. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Happy Belated First Day Of Spring
March 21, 2018
Good morning. I have waited for oh so long for Spring to get here, and when she finally arrives, I am a wicked bundle of nerves worrying about the huge tree on my roof and wondering what is beneath it. So Happy First Day of Spring a day late.
Yesterday I was hanging on to my very last nerve all day. The tree service showed up and assured me that everything would be okay. And they were good. They knew what they were doing and they did a super job.
First the big trucks came into the yard. Earlier we had to make sure that all our vehicles were off the property to make room for the trucks. First came the big crane truck.
Then came the shredder truck. (It's backing in to the yard.)
Removing the tree from the roof was quite a challenge. I tried to take a few photos, but mostly I had to stay indoors so that I wouldn't be in the way. I did get a few though. They first cut the end of the branch off and as many limbs as they could and put all of these through the shredder.
Let me explain, this tree was actually a branch from a huge fir tree. ( One of the gentle giants that surround us.) The tree was in the neighbor's yard. The branch that fell on my house was the size of a full grown tree. It was huge! Even the adjuster was astounded by the size of it when he first saw it.
Once all the greenery was cut away from the branch, it was lifted high into the air by the crane and slowly lowered into my driveway. As much as possible was cut off it and put into the shredder. Finally though, they reached a point where it was just too thick to be shredded. At this point, they cut it in half, and left it on the ground. Later, they came back with another truck and crane, and lifted the two huge logs into the truck and took them away.
Before the guys left, they took a few photos of the roof damage for me and covered it over with heavy duty plastic. Are you ready for this? This is a photo of the hole in my roof. (The hole is also on the other side of the peak of the roof. I still have to go up into the attic to list all the inside damage. I just don't have the heart to do it today. There's also a section of my privacy fence that was damaged when the tree fell.
Once the tree guys left, I had to find a roofer and hopefully he could come right away to fix the roof. I got lucky here. I Googled local roofers and picked the one with five stars. The owner came right out, looked it over, gave me an estimate, and said that they could start work this morning. Wowsie!
I checked with the insurance adjuster, and he said to go ahead and have the roof repaired. He will be out again in a few days to look in the attic with me and list any more damages. It all has to go on the one claim.
So. today it is quite busy and noisy here. The dumpster showed up this morning, and the men were already waiting by the sidewalk in their cars. As soon as the dumpster was in place, all the workers came in the yard and proceeded to start working on the roof.
News Flash!!! The boss (owner) of the roofing crew just came and asked if he could go up into the attic. So I decided to go up there with him. Aside from a lot of stuff falling in from the hole in the roof, (and the hole is really huge!!) there's not much structural damage up there. This is certainly a big relief. Once the hole has been repaired, the guys will go into the attic and take away all the debris that fell inside.
Wow, I guess I got a bit chattier that I thought I would. Now it's time for me to get dressed and go to the bank. These guys will be wanting to be paid when they are done. Before I go, let me give you a new quick page. Have fun with it.

Sorry, No Post Today, Too Busy
March 20, 2018
Good afternoon. Sorry, but I won't be posting today. The tree service just left. The tree is off my roof and the big gaping hole in the roof is covered temporarily. I have a lot of calls to make to get a roofer out here. The tree guys will be back this afternoon to cart away the two big logs from the main part of the tree. My nerves are frazzled, I have so much to do.
I'll be back tomorrow. You have a great day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Back Home And Wicked Busy!
March 19, 2018
Good afternoon. Well, I had most of this post already typed, and Google ate it! I'm not going to try to rewrite all of it.
Yesterday we got home safely, and once I had a chance to sit down last night, I drifted off to sleep. Pogo did too. Today I've been busy doing laundry. Before I left, I covered a lot things with towels and blankets so that they wouldn't be covered with two weeks of dust. The towels and blankets made up two loads of laundry this morning. Plus, one more load of clothing for Pogo and me.
Their was a huge pile of mail that had come in while I was away. I've already gone through all of it. One pile of bills to pay, one pile to read and one pile to put in the recycle bin. A new dolly dress pattern that I had ordered had arrived. I'll take a photo later to share with you here.
The first thing that Pogo wanted when he got home was to go potty. He had held it in all day, and he couldn't wait to get to his wee wee papers. After that, he went looking for Joe so that he could have his turkey treat. Mmmm, that tasted so good! Joe had cooked chicken for supper and gave us a big chunk of it for Pogo's supper.
Saturday, Dee sent me some photos. Kevin's union had a basketball game that day at U Mass in Boston, the Apprentices vs. the Journeymen. Sad to say, Kevin's team lost, 41 - 29. However, Kevin got 18 of those 29 points for his team. Great job, Kevin! Here's a photo of Kevin and Dee Dee's friend, Pam on the basketball court.
Later it was time for some refreshments. Here's a photo of Dee Dee and her friend Pam. You're looking great, ladies!

Pam's son Drew (Andrew Johnson, U.S.A. Marines) just recently passed guard academy with honors. Here's a photo of Pam and Drew, taken in Washington D.C. after the ceremony. We're all very proud of you Drew!
In a little while, I need to think about what's for supper tonight. I also need to make up a small shopping list. Joe offered to go to the market and pick up some groceries for me today after work. I appreciate this because I'm already tired from today's chores.
The tree service called yesterday to ask if they could come out tomorrow instead of today. Their chipper truck had a problem with one of it's tires Saturday, and was being fixed today. Of course, I said yes. So tomorrow will be another busy day here.
Now I have to take the load of towels out of the dryer and fold them, and put the last load (blankets) into the dryer. On that happy note, I'll take my leave.
So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.

A Beautiful Day To End Our Vacation
March 17, 2018
Good morning. Tis a really beautiful day here in Fla Fla. Even though it gets quite cool during the night, the days warm up nicely. I had to smile the other morning. The temperature wasn't quite up to sixty degrees yet (it was early) and there were already a couple of families, children and adults, in their bathing suits heading for the pool.
I don't do the pool. The computer room is over by the pool, so I will walk over there today so that I can print out my ticket. Tomorrow Pogo and I leave here and head back home. It's going to be bittersweet to leave here, but it will feel good to be home too.
Here's a couple photos I took of the view from our porch. It's such a pretty place, and sooo relaxing.
I had another call this morning from one of the tree services that I had left messages with. He will be going by my house today to look over the situation and give me an estimate. It can't hurt to get another estimate. This guy will even cover the damaged part of the roof with a tarp.
This morning, I spoke with Joe, and he said that he will pick up some turkey so that Pogo can have his treat when we get home. I'm sure this will make my little guy super happy because he has been missing his turkey treat these past two weeks.
Yesterday I was looking over some of the new quick pages that I've been making and I decided I wasn't very happy with one of them. So I spent about an hour and a half re-doing it. Then I spent another hour an a half making another new one. It doesn't normally take this long to make a quick page but I am sooooo picky! At least when I finish one I am pleased with it.
Today is St. Patrick's Day, and I have another quick page for you. I had a lot of fun making this page, (can you see why?) and I hope you have fun with it too. May your day be full of blessings. (Mine is!)

I just got a call from the tree service that called me this morning. The guy went by my house to look things over. He gave me a much better price to remove the tree from the roof, cut up the tree and haul it away. He'll also take photos of the roof damage for me and then cover every thing over with a tarp. This is what I was wanting, so I'm hiring this guy. I've already called the other company and told them that I won't be needing them.
My next project will be to find me a roofing company to come out and repair any damages to the roof. Joe told me that the shed roof didn't really have much damage. Only a dent of sorts, no holes and no leaking. This is good.
Now I think I'll get dressed and Pogo and I will walk over to the computer room to print out my ticket. Then I will make sure that most everything is packed in our suitcase. I don't want to be rushed in the morning or I'll surely forget something.
So, till Monday, Y'all have a fabulous weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

Have A Safe Flight Home, Beth.
March 16, 2018
Good morning. Well it's 3:15 a.m. and Beth has just left for the airport to go home. We drove out by the office a little while ago to wait for the shuttle bus to pick her up. It just doesn't seem possible that our two weeks is over already. I have two more days, then Pogo and I will be heading home. Here's a photo I took of Beth getting into the shuttle bus. Have a safe trip home, Beth.
It's going to seem wicked quiet around here today and tomorrow. Without my partner in crime, I won't be gadding about town. I guess maybe I'll just work on the dolly dress. It will amazing if it actually comes out sort of like it's supposed to look. We'll see.
Yesterday, we took a ride to the UPS store in Celebration (right up the street) so that I could mail my box home. Then we stopped at a gas station to fill up the tank on the rental car. While we were there my doctor's office called to tell me that they were getting ready to fax me the letter that I need to be able to bring my portable oxygen on the plane.
While we were waiting for the fax to come through, I took this photo of Beth out in front of the office building.
After this, we went riding around to find a place that sold ice cream cones. We finally ended up going through a McDonald's drive thru to get our ice cream cones. Mmmm, boy, did they ever taste good!
When we got back to our condo, Beth took this photo of me and Pogo. You can see that I have my phone in my hand. We had been taking some photos of the flowers that were blooming.
I also got a call from a tree service (from back home) to make arrangements to come out on Monday and remove the tree from my roof. The guy said he would try to line up a roofer to come out on the same day so that the roof can be covered over with a tarp. Joe said he would go to the store and pick me up a big tarp just in case. With a little luck, maybe the roofing guy will be able to fix my roof that day. (or at least soon) We'll see.
When I get home, I'll have to look around the yard to see if I can find my money tree. That's if the snow hasn't buried it. (joke, joke) These guys will be wanting to be paid when they finish the tree and roof work. Silly me, I had thought that they all got paid by my insurance company. But I guess I pay them and then put in a claim to the insurance. This is all new territory for me but I'm learning.
Even though tomorrow is Saturday, I'll be posting here because I won't have much time Sunday morning. Pogo and I have to leave around 7:30 a.m. to return the rental car so that they can drive us to the airport. Here's hoping the weather back home can behave itself long enough for us to get home.
Well, now I think I'll go back to bed and see if I can catch a few winks. So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Our Vacation Is Coming To An End
March 15, 2018
Good morning. The sun is shining, so you'd never guess that it was just 33F degrees here this morning. Thankfully, it will warm up to the low to mid seventies in a few hours. This is good because I have to go out later this morning to mail my box home. I would have done it yesterday, but we had ourselves a lazy day instead.
I did get my suitcase half-packed yesterday, and I think that today I should actually finish packing it. I need to make sure that everything fits. Wouldn't it be awful if I had to get another box to mail? Gosh, I hope not.
Well, today is Beth's last day here. Her shuttle bus is picking her up at 3:30 tomorrow morning to take her to the airport. Yikes! What an ungodly hour to be going to the airport! I'll have to call my doctor's office again this morning to see if they are going to fax me the letter that I need to take my portable oxygen on the plane. I called yesterday, but I guess they were still on snow break because there was no answer.
Beth will have to go see her doctor when she gets home because her legs have been aching these past two days. Hopefully, it is just from all the walking that we've done so far. We've both been pretty lucky to stay healthy while we were here so that we could get out and do a few things.
Today I have some cute photos to share of my little guy. This first photo shows just how tiny he is when standing next to the legs of the dining table and chairs.
The next photo shows how happy his little face gets when you ask him if he wants to go for a ride. He absolutely loves riding in the car. Isn't this a beautiful smile?
Well, I didn't get very much crocheting done while I've been here. I think having to re-write the whole pattern for the dolly dress sort of put a damper on my fun with crocheting. I did go online and order a new pattern which should be waiting for me when I get home.
I did not realize before this that there were two different sizes of dolly bodies that were used to make this bathroom tissue dolly. I'm going to have to look for the other size when I get back home. Of course not until after I finish my tax stuff. I let that all go so that I could enjoy myself here in Florida.
I've mentioned a few times about our trips to Old Town, so I thought I'd show a couple photos of the brand new entrance to this fun place. I took these photos on our way out of there a couple days ago. There is a big ferris wheel to the side of the entrance, and I tried to get a shot of it through the windshield of the car. It's really quite pretty.
I've been following the Weather Channel every day. There's another storm headed for Boston and the rest of southern New England, and I'm just hoping that it will hold off until well after I'm back home safely. I still have that tree on my roof at home to deal with when I get home. These storms are making it really difficult for me to get it taken off my house and get any damages repaired.
I've come across an awesome new blog and I thought I'd like to share it with you. Please check out this blog. You'll be ever so glad that you did. It's written by a journalist, and his stories are just so heartwarming. His name is Sean Dietrich, and his blog is called Sean Of The South. Just click on his blog name to go there..
Well, I've finished my coffee, and now I think I'll have me a second cup. So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a great day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Gosh, Where Has All The Time Gone!!
March 14, 2018
Good morning. My goodness! It's 39F degrees here this morning. Of course, it won't stay like this for very long. By noon, temps will up to around 71F degrees. In all the years that I've been coming here (since the mid 80's) this is the coolest it has ever been during my two weeks here. Mind you, I'm not complaining though. The sun is shining and it is really pretty outside.
Back home, the storm really left a wide path of misery everywhere. We all got around eighteen inches of snow. Not the soft stuff either. The first foot of snow was the heavy wet stuff. Here's a photo that Deanne sent me yesterday morning. It will take a while to shovel out from this storm.
Yesterday, we went out to do a couple errands, and I was on the lookout for a cardboard box to use for sending a few things home. I'd like to get this box in the mail either later today or tomorrow. So I guess I'll have a trial run at packing my suitcase today. (so I can figure out what gets mailed in the box)
While we were out, Beth picked up a couple plants at Orange World to take home with her. She got a dwarf orange tree and a dwarf lime tree. I hope they grow well because I'd love to see photos of them with fruit on them.
Here's a couple photos I took while we were there. On the way out of the shop, Beth stopped to taste some of the fruit. In the first photo, I've put a yellow arrow pointing to Beth. The second photo is a close up, showing Beth with her new tote bag.
Another photo that Deanne sent to me yesterday was a sweet memory photo of Jazzy after a performance of 80's music at her elementary school. Wowsie! She gave the same type of performance seven years later at the Paris Cabaret. I've put both of her photos together, and my goodness, our Jazzy girl has grown into quite an awesome young woman.
I'm not sure what we're up to today. Beth goes home early Friday morning, so there's only a couple days left to have fun. Pogo and I go home Sunday morning. Gosh, where has the time gone? It seems like our two weeks has just flown by! I'm thinking that I could use a couple more weeks. Hmmm, not possible, but a super idea!
Today I have a new quick page for you. I've made it rather plain so that you can add some of your own embellishments. This one is for the fun photos that you will be taking on St. Patrick's Day this coming weekend. Have fun with it.

Now I'm going to make another cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading. So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fantabulous day.

Happy Belated Birthday Eddie
March 13 2018
Good morning. Tis another beautiful day here in Fla Fla. Sadly, that's not the case back home. The folks at home are in the midst of another N'oreaster. Snowfall expected back home is between 12 - 18 inches. More trees and power lines are coming down and there are more power outages. And, the forecast is for another storm next week? Oh wow, I hope not!
Yesterday was SIL Eddie's birthday. I forgot, my bad!! Eddie, I hope your day was awesome. Happy belated birthday, Eddie, from me and Pogo. We love you.
This morning I need to call my doctor's office again to see if they are going to fax me a letter saying that it is okay for me to take my portable oxygen on the plane. I did not realize that I needed this letter to take it on the plane. Once I got to Boston's airport, I learned that without a letter from your doctor and a spare battery, you cannot use your portable oxygen while you are on the plane. It has to go in the overhead storage bin for the duration of the flight.
Hmmm, I wonder what happens if you find yourself needing oxygen? Last year's flight home was not fun. I don't want a repeat of it. Hopefully, the doctor will have the letter that I need faxed to me here. (It's always something, isn't it?)
Today's temperature will be around seventy. It's the perfect temperature for walking around, so maybe we will go out today. I need to find me a cardboard box (and buy some packing tape) so I can send a few things home that won't fit into my suitcase. I usually go to the pack and mail store in Celebration to mail my boxes out. It's right up the street and easy to get to.
Today I have some photos of some of the palm trees in Old Town. In this first photo, there's a ring of gorgeous flowering bushes around the foot of the tree. See the second photo for a close up of the flowers.
Deanne has just sent me some photos of the trees in a neighbor's yard attempting to come down under the weight of the new snow. If they come down, they will take down Deanne's fence and her pool. So far, just the top of one of the trees has drooped over the fence and is resting in the pool, while another branch is resting on the fence.
I'm still waiting for Joe to send me pictures from our yard. When (and if) I get them, I'll post a couple here. I just called home to ask how things look there, and my answer was "white, very white!" I will be following the Weather Channel all day and night because the storm isn't supposed to let up back home until late tonight.
Joe just called me and said that we already have ten inches of wet heavy snow. The shoveling is very difficult, and he's taking a break right now before going back out to shovel more snow. Sad to say, the other guys in the house are not in any rush to go out and help Joe with the shoveling. Hmmm, what else is new?
Now I think I'll take my leave. It's almost time to make some lunch. I'm thinking that we'll have spinach pizza for lunch. Mmmmm! So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a super day.
Hugs, Edna B.
