Good morning. It's been raining lightly since last evening. It's good to look outside and see some puddles instead of piles of snow everywhere. Don't get me wrong, snow is nice. As long as it disappears shortly after it gets here.
I think the January blues are settling in here. I just don't want to get out of bed in the morning to start the new day. If it weren't for Pogo, I probably would give in to the temptation of staying in bed all day sometimes. Thank goodness though, my little guy keeps me going. I have to get up to feed him and change his pee pads, and as long as I'm up I may as well stay up.
It must be the need and want to be outdoors in the fresh air that does this to some of us older folks. That yearly trip to sunny Florida helps to chase away these winter blues. Just looking forward to going there is as helpful as the actual trip.
There is one good thing about staying indoors though. I have fewer chances of catching all the nasty germs and viruses that are going around this time of year. My friend Rhoda sent me an adorable story about how not to get sick during this cold and flu season. I'd like to share it with you.
It seems that Miss Beatrice, the church organist who was in her eighties, had never been married and was admired for her sweetness and kindness. One afternoon, the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.
As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cute glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water. Floating in the water, of all things, was a condom. When Miss Beatrice returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist.
"Miss Beatrice," he said pointing to the bowl, "I wonder if you would tell me about this?" "Oh yes" she replied. "Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet, and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know that I haven't had the flu all winter?"
Wow, such an easy remedy! Who'd a thunk it? Well, I hope you enjoyed this little story. It certainly put a smile on my face. Thanks, Rhoda.
Today I have a new quick page for you. This one might be good for some of your photos that were taken when it was snowing.

Last night I noticed that there are two new tiny flower buds on my Orange Jasmine plant. They're only buds, but they do smell good. Gosh, I can only imagine how gorgeous this plant is going to be in the Spring when I can put it outdoors in the sunshine. Here's a photo of these tiny little flower buds. It's amazing how something so tiny can also chase away the winter blues!
Well, now I think I should try to find some mischief to get into. This shouldn't be very hard to do. I have stacks of tax stuff staring me right in the face!! So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a beautiful day.
Hugs, Edna B.

I didn;t do blogreading yesterday, only got to the computer late afternoon for a short while.
so here i am after skipping one day.
Those winterblues really can get to you at times. I feel the same sometimes, but we cannot stay in our beds, because we have to take care of our pets and hubby and house and then we take care of ouselves too after all that. But it is better that we have something to get up for.
Looks kind of okay here outside, but still is cold.
Loved the little story about Miss Beatrice!!!LOL.
Glad you already made a dent in the taxpile. I am still waiting for some papers to be send to me that I need for the accountant.
Going to try to get a blogpost together now, so till tomorrow.
Have a lovely day, good progress in the tax stuff and yeah, take the weekend off from it to do some nice things!
Hug
Kyra
I have been laid up for a couple of days with a bad head cold, maybe I should find me one of those condoms, except I don't have an organ to put it on. Oh well, I'm sure in another day of lazying around I'll be all better. The cats seem to know when I'm down and out and come for lots of cuddling and warmth. Between chicken noodle soup and the love of our pets all will be better.
