Me, Crispy???

November 6, 2013

Good morning.  It looks like we're going to have a couple of warm days here with temps around 58-62 F degrees.  I can handle that!!  I am such a wimpy person when it comes to the really cold weather.

Well, let me tell you about the fabulous dinner we all had last evening.  Dee Dee and Eddie and the kids treated me to dinner at a wonderful restaurant where my grandson Bobby (their oldest child) is a chef.  It was such a treat watching Kevin and Jasmine looking over the menu and deciding which new foods to try.  They both tried some different appetizers, including stuffed mushrooms and a sort of stuffed clam.  The mushrooms were their least favorite.

I'm really quite simple.  If there is a pasta plate on the menu then that's the one I'll pick.  And right at the top of the menu was listed linguini with Italian sweet sausage.  Yup!  That's the one for me!   This photo was taken with a phone camera and no flash so I lightened it up.  Unfortunately, it was quite a bit pixelated, but you can still see that I'm enjoying my pasta.

During dinner, the kids gave me a birthday card featuring Hoops & Yoyo.  I just love those two cartoon characters.  As Hoops & Yoyo are wishing me a happy birthday, they are comparing me to a crispy head of lettuce (no wrinkles).   Imagine!  Me, a crispy little thing!  lol.

At one point during our meal, our chef - my very first grandchild, came out to spend a few minutes visiting with us.  Here's a photo of me and Bobby.  Needless to say, we are very proud of him.  He did a fabulous job with all the food.  Before we left the restaurant, we were taken out to the kitchen to say goodbye to our wonderful chef.  Now that's a treat!!

Last evening, I treated myself to a glass of Sam Adams, hoping that it would help me to drift off to sleep early.  It worked and I slept till around 2 a.m.  After that, sleep was a bit sketchy, but that's okay because I can take a nap this afternoon before Janet gets here.

Yesterday, I got the latest estimate for the work on the house, and made the decision to hire this company to do the work.  The only problem is that they are backed up with work and cannot start my work until probably early December.  However, they have assured me that they can get the work finished before the end of that month.  Gosh, I surely hope so.

Well that's my news for this morning.  Now I'm going to rustle up some breakfast.  Pogo is curled up next to me, patiently waiting for food.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I am off and running again today, but had to stop in and make a quick comment on your crispy old self. What fun and what good food ... and cooked by your Grandson (a good looking one at that), How much better does it get. You are blessed with a beautiful, loving family.

My son always gives us Hoops and YoYo cards ... they are so funny, we love them too. It is raining here today , much to Izzi's dismay ... No Frisbees in the rain. Well, sometimes we play Frisbee in the rain, but today I have to stay clean and dry because we have a Raptor program to do later. That's why I have to cut this short ... I have an hour drive to get to the raptors and then another hour to get to the program. The good thing is that it is near a Trader Joe's and I can stop there to get some goodies for my Hubby and me, of course. So you have a wonderful restful day and I will check in later :)

And of course you are proud of him!
Good you can take a nap today before Janet comes over.
