Trying My Hand At Some Photo Art

October 11, 2011

Good morning, or at least it will be for another hour.  Tootsie and I slept late this morning after one of those "toss and turn" nights.  I thought my cold was on the mend, but I seem to have picked up a nasty cough that kept waking me up.  I really hope it leaves me soon.

Are you into photo art?  If so, check out the Pixel Dust Photo Art blog.  Each week, Bonnie offers a new texture freebie, along with a link on Thursday to upload your photo art.  There is some really beautiful photo art here.  Each week, I give it a try, but I'm not usually happy with my resulting project.  This week I finally made a piece that I'm happy with.

I started with a photo of my pink rose, then added the "French Boudoir Blue" texture from PDPA, and used a blending mode in Photoshop.  Next, I added a fairy and some bubbles from Minky, and voila!  Here's my original photo and my resulting photo art.

It's a little different for me, but I think I like it.  I'm thinking that a book filled with different types of photo art might be very interesting.  Hmmmmm, food for thought!

I did not make it to Boston yesterday.  I was all set to go and getting really excited, but my son in law was not able to get back from his morning appointment in time to take me.  What a bummer!  Unfortunately, I don't drive into Boston myself.  The traffic is horrendous, and trying to find something is like finding your way out of a maze.  Not my kind of fun.

Well, that's all the news for today.  Now it's time to make some lunch for us.  Tootsie has been sitting here very patiently waiting for me to finish up my post.  I hope everyone has, or has had, the opportunity to enjoy the love and affection of a treasured pet.  There's nothing like it!!  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

What a pity you didnt make it to Boston!
Oh well, perhaps another time?
Love the thing you did with the rose. Those textures sometimes are just slightly visible, but can make a whole lot of difference. Yeah, may be a good idea to make, perhaps this kind of photoart for your calender, or for the one of next year?
Have a lovely day(hope your cough disappears soon, can be very irratating!)
Hugs

I'm sorry we didn't get to connect but can't blame you for not wanting to drive in Boston traffic. We were there the day the protesters shut down the bridge, so it was super crazy. My sinus drainage is continuing also, so I have not yet totally shed this cold. I love the texture added to the photo. I will need to check out her blog.
