"Fall Festival" Starts Today

October 3, 2011

I'm sitting here at work with a sniffly nose and wondering if I will be able to shake this cold that seems to be trying to cause me grief.  So many other folks have already it, but I do not want to join them.  I hate being sick with a cold.

I'm also not nuts about the fact that now it gets dark a few minutes after 6:30 pm and daylight doesn't start peeking out again until 6:30m am.  I know it does this every year, and the darkness will get even longer pretty soon, but I wish it didn't have to.  I'm a daylight person.  When I was younger, darkness and evening time brought about all sorts of fun things to do.  In these golden years, I'd rather have the daylight, the sun and warmth.

Have you ever seen a boat parked on a house roof?  I have a photo to share of a fisherman sitting in his sailboat atop "Crazy Eddie's" Restaurant.  it's really kind of neat!  This was taken at, where else?  Plymouth Harbor on my photo walk.

My trip out would not have been complete without a photo of the "Plymouth Rock."  I remember years ago when my son was just a little fellow.  I took the kids to see the Rock and his reaction was "That's it?"

I took this next photo especially for my friend Nani.  Who would have thought there would be palm trees in Plymouth, Massachusetts?  Well there are!  I asked about and was told that they are trucked in from Florida every year, and then packed up and sent back in the Fall.  Amazing!

Next, I have my preview and the first two parts of our new October collab kit, "Fall Festival."  Su came up with the theme and gorgeous color pallette.  This is a great kit for all your Autumn photos.

And here is your download link: EXPIRED

Now you can hop on over to Su's blog and pick up her Parts 1 & 2.  Please take a moment to stop and say thank you.  One little thanks goes a long way.  Here is Su's preview.

I took a break in between posting here because it was time for me to go home.  Now I'm here, and my lttle girl is waiting for her morning meds.  (Ya, right!!)  I know she doesn't realize it, but the meds is what keeps her on her feet.  She's been following me around to make sure I don't run back out the door without her.

I have changed her meds a bit again because I think that's what has been causing all her recent problems.  I had cut back on her prednisone because the doctor is trying to wean her off of it, but it just sent her back in to a relapse and took away most of her sight.  So I put her back on her regular dose.  Now I am trying one day a regular dose twice a day, and two days of one dose a day.  So far, it seems to be working, but it is early.

Now I'm off to make a cup of coffee and catch up on my emails.  Till tomorrow, stay warm and dry and have a great day.

Hugs, Edna B.

That's the rock I was asking about! If I recall correctly, that "line" you see slicing through itis from a repair job. Apparently the rock was dropped during a move and it cracked. Thanks for posting. Someplace on an extra hard drive I have that same picture!

That was my same reaction the first time I saw Plymouth Rock. I think I was confusing it with the Rock of Gibraltar or something much more massive. My cold is finally starting to let go and I should be okay by Thursday when I head your way.
