One Just Can't Have Too Many Flowers!

April 07, 2011

It's a bit early yet, but still I can see the sun in the front of my yard so that is a good sign.  Tootsie and I want to get outside again today for a while.  Plus, later today, the fellow from the nearby nursery is coming to give me an estimate for bringing in loam and hydro seed for both of the side yards.  Oh boy, it's starting to feel like Spring!!

Yesterday afternoon, one of the dwarfs helped me to set up my starter seed trays, and I planted lots of poppies and sweet peas.  I also started a pot of tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and wildflowers.  Then I went to the local Walmart and purchased some new tulips and primrose.   I am not done yet, but it's already feeling good!!

Kyra sent me a couple of links to check out for butterfly gardening, so I'll be quite busy today.  Next, I want to order some multi-colored butterfly bushes and maybe one or two trumpet vines.  Up until last year, I had some gorgeous purple wisteria on the side of my house.  So maybe I'll get another wisteria plant too.

Now how about some photos from my outing at the park this past weekend.  People were tossing crackers and bread into the pond for the ducks and geese and gulls.  Here are some photos of a couple of the gulls getting their share of the crackers.

Now I think I'll have another cup of coffee and get dressed.  There's a couple of scatter rugs that need to be put into the wash (Tootsie's contribution to keeping me busy)  and some mail to put out.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Thanks for the name of the pink grass. It is really gorgeous!
Oh, if you can take a wisteria. Only thing is, that you have to keep it under control a bit, it can grow vigorously, but it sure is beautiful.
Hahaha, Tootsie likes to keep you busy, the naughty girl! Will she be happy when there is new fresh grass around the house???
The seeds should take all too long to start growing. First you almost want to look them out of the soil and suddenly in short time sprouts are showing.
Have fun growing them!
Hugs
Kyra

Oh I love seagulls! Your photos are fantastic! I’m usually the one IN the gull pictures because I’m also usually the one feeding them!

I completely agree with you about too many flowers, no such thing! Even on overcast days, like today so far, the colors make me smile.

Going to blog now before my XML test and the Reds afternoon game. And I told David this morning that the Red Sox would break this nasty start for the year today! :)

Great gull photos - it sounds like you will have a very nice garden when you're done.
In answer to your question on the Kindle cover - I could probably find some hummingbird fabric. I'm thinking of charging $25-$30 for them. Let me know if that sounds okay. Wasn't sure how to price them.
