Temperatures Are Dropping Fast

September 6, 2019

Goode morning.  So far, it's cool and 57F degrees,  Later it will warm up to the high sixties with maybe a little sunshine.  For the next five days, we're looking at temps between 69F and 75F degrees for a high with nights dropping down into the low fifties, one down to 48F degrees.  This is such a sharp drop from the hot weather we've had all summer long.

Today's post will be short because Deanne will be coming to pick me up and take me out to do some errands.  I don't need much today.  Maybe just stop by the bank and perhaps we can wander around Ocean Spray Job Lot for a while.  Pogo will like this.  He doesn't get out much anymore.  Sorry, Pogo.

Here's a photo of the new book that I just got.  I have to say that so far it is very interesting.  I'll have to copy a few things from it to share here.

A couple days ago, Pogo and I got to spend the whole afternoon out on the porch.  It really felt so nice.  It was warm , but there was a super nice breeze keeping things comfy.   We got cheated out of a lot of our porch time this year because of the wicked heat.  Let's hope that next summer will be much more enjoyable.

I have a couple photos that Pogo let me take of him.  As soon as he realized that I had taken them, he quickly put his head down

The Weather Channel is showing videos of the havoc that Dorian is causing in Virginia Beach, Va. with heavy winds and rain.  Folks in the Outer Banks, No. Carolina are being asked to move to higher levels in their homes because of the rising water.    This storm made it's fourth landfall at 8:35 a.m. this morning over Cape Hatteras, No. Carolina.

By tomorrow, this nasty storm should begin to work it's way out of there and start to make it's way to us in Southeastern Massachusetts.  I hope by the time it gets up here, it will have diminished to just a little bit of rain and wind, a cough and a sneeze so to speak.  We'll have to wait and see.

Now I have to start getting ready for when Deanne gets here.  So, till Sunday Y'all please stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

I love your temps. I wish we could get a little breeze of cool air. Our summers last through winter. (lol) I was going out this morning to the grocery store and my fur babies made me feel so sad. They were running and jumping wanting to go with me but I had to tell them the world haven't accepted them the way I do. They were always going places with me, but now I only go to the doctor and the grocery store and they can't come. I want to drive them around in the park by the lake but if I get sick with them in the car, there's no one there to make sure they get home safe. So I Just don't do it. If something happen to my babies It would tear me apart. I bought a double stroller but have been to sick to push them down the street. I was telling my sister in Louisiana not to worry but I do think that autoimmune disease is trying to show it's ugly head. You have to give it to God and let him take it into remission again. I am trying to tell them not to worry about me because whatever God think is best for me, that is what he will do. I don't live my life worrying about what is out of my control. Stress will take you out faster than anything. Off to bed to try to feel better. I hope you and Pogo have a great day.

Oh Edna, enjoy the cool. Today was 103F and we haven't had real rain in weeks. I think the bushes in front are not going to make it. I water but they look very bad. We have lots of leaves falling but not because of Fall. No they are falling because they are needing water and everyday I look at the radar and news just to see if their is anything headed our way.

I can't imagine the people in the Bahamas but also the people here. I read the news articles of people in their attics and rescue workers trying to evacuate. I don't know about people but Mandatory evacuations mean just that. Leave!
When we had that historical flood several years ago our Police Chief and people at City Hall and our Volunteer Firemen all said that if you are in the mandatory evacuation zone and you refuse to leave and have to be rescued later then you would be charged a hefty fine. Good for them. Someone has to pay the expense.
We had one man that was sort of forgotten as he lived alone and the water came up so fast. They initially gave us 4 days to evacuate but that turned out to be 4 hours.
Anyway it was only the next day that someone mentioned that they had not seen him at the school uptown where they set up a shelter. He was fine, but just barely. His home was almost flooded to the top of the stairs when he was rescued. I am so glad that he was rescued. He wasn't charged because like all of us we thought that we had time.

Long comment and I am going to bed. See you on Sunday. I am sending my boy lots of love and hugs and kisses and I love you hon to the moon and back. XXX Beth

Prayers that Dorian will move away from your state, Edna, we were so blessed in our area, we had minimal damage, the outer banks took the brunt. ., The book seems very interesting, I would love to find something to get rid of age spots on my hands, just to much sun and age. ~smile~

Hope you are having a great Sunday, Happy for you that you are getting some relief from the heat, I am so looking forward to cooler weather.
Blessings,
Sue
