The First Snow Of This Winter

December 10, 2017

Good morning.  Only fifteen more nights and Santa Claus will be here!  When he gets here, he sprinkles a little sleeping dust on Pogo so that he will not wake up and then we can sit down for a little chat and a hot cup of cocoa or coffee.

He parks his sleigh and his reindeer by my porch, between this side of the house and the shed.  This way, no one can see them.  I often wonder if any of the neighbors see the reindeer with Santa in his sleigh taking off from here in the middle of the night.  Gosh, if they do, I wonder what they think!  Wouldn't it be fun to be a fly on their walls?

Well, yesterday morning the snow started falling.  At first, it was just a light covering.  As the day went on, the snow began to pile up.  After there were a few inches on the ground, Joe went out and shoveled the whole parking area and driveway. Late last night there was another few inches on the ground, so Joe went back out to clear it all away again.  It's quite a task because the area is large, but he did a really super job.

This morning, the snow has stopped, and there is just a new light covering of snow everywhere.  I have to admit, the snow is pretty, but it's okay for it to disappear now.  I took a picture of it, so now I just want to see the bare ground.  hahaha.  It will be Winter in less than two weeks now, although it feels like it got here a bit early.

This is the weekend that Jazzy's high school drama department put on a Murder Mystery.  Deanne went and texted me how awesome it was.  All the kids played their parts to perfection.  This class has some awesome talent in it.  Here are some photos taken by the newspaper photographer.  The first photo was published in Friday's newspaper.  Jazzy is the lady wearing the blue suit.

I've had a pain in my side for a few days, and on Friday, Deanne picked up some Cranberry Juice for me and brought it by.  I went to have some of it that evening, but I couldn't open the bottle.  I had to wait until yesterday to have Joe open it for me.

I used to have a round rubber thing that I used to open jars and bottles.  Somehow it has disappeared.  Now either I moved it and did not put it back where it belonged or the dust bunnies have hidden it from me.  Sometimes they play these little pranks.  So, last night I went on Amazon and ordered a set of four of these rubber things.  Those naughty bunnies can keep the old one.

Last night, my friend Beth told me that I should be drinking water with lemon juice in it to help clear any bad stuff out of my kidneys.  I'm on my second bottle, Beth!  Here's hoping it works.

Yesterday, I also spent some time playing on my laptop, making some new Christmas quick pages.  Today I will post one of them for you.

I love nature and animals, and this gets reflected in a lot of my quick pages.  All God's creatures should share in the joy of this wondrous time of year.

It's now a little after seven a.m. and Pogo and I have been up for a couple hours.  He decided he was hungry, and I did not feel like cooking hamburgers so I got a stuffed pepper from the freezer and cooked it in the microwave.  We split it between us.  I also baked a potato to eat with mine.  Yum, Yum, Yum!   Tonight I'll probably have a bowl of corn flakes for supper.

There really is a good side to retirement.  I can eat whatever I want for whichever meal I want.  I can hang out in my jammies all day.  If I get tired, I can take a nap whenever I please.  So life can be pretty good!

Now I have some blog reading to catch up on.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Good Morning Edna and Pogo,
I hope that you have an awesome Sunday and I really hope the lemon water helps flush out anything that is causing the pain. I really should drink more lemon water myself. Basically my Nephrologist told me that the lemon water breaks up all the nasty things that can cause kidney or bladder stones. It really did help me and I am hoping that it will help you too but if the pain continues please see a doctor to rule out any other kind of infection that could be forming.

I am so glad that the snow has stopped and I bet that Joe is too. It has to be a job that isn't much fun when you have to do it so often no matter how pretty the snow is.

I would have loved to have seen Jazzy in her play. So do you know who the culprit was? I meant to ask last night and forgot to do so. I wish you could have gone but I understand why you can't. It is a shame tho to miss it. Maybe they will offer a DVD for sale and you can see it.

Time to do my blog and get on with my day. Talk to you soon. xxxx Oh and you made me so hungry for that bell pepper. I might just have to make some today. Cisco is snoring but I assure you he sends his doggie kisses to you and paw high fives to Pogo, love, Beth

Hi- a answer to "who done it" - the attorney and the detective were in it together- the two men in the suits to jazzy's left- the show kept you guessing right until the end!!
