To Shred Or Not To Shred

June 19, 2013

Good morning.   The sun is shining bright, and the weather man is promising several warm sunny days in a row for the rest of the week.  Yesterday started out pretty nice, but then the sky got dark and the rain came with  just a bit of thunder in the background.

The past couple of weeks, I've been reading a lot in the newspaper of folks complaining about the changes in Boston airport's runways, and the extra noise overhead from more planes.  I really did not pay much attention to most of it, but then last night I understood what these folks were complaining about.

It seemed as though the planes were taking off right overhead all through the night.  Mind you, if you were already asleep, you probably would not even hear the planes.  I'll have to wait to see how this extra air traffic sounds after it has been here a while.

Yesterday, I got the new shredder set up, but that's far as far as I got.  It just was not a "feel good" day for me and I finally took to my bed.  Today, I will get to the shredding.  It was suggested that I might take all my shredding to a local store that does it for free, but I have my reservations about that.  Our town has set aside a day to do our shredding.  It's free, just pack it up and bring it to them.

The problem I am having with this is my personal business.  With the government downloading everyone's personal business off the internet, I don't really trust the town to shred my papers if I am not there watching.  Most often, these places tell you to just leave your bags of papers and they will do the shredding later.  Thank you, but I'll do my own shredding.

I think I will have to re-schedule my cleaning lady too.  I need more time to get every thing clean before I let her in to clean it for me.  Gosh, don't I sound pathetic?  This happened some years ago when I was lucky enough to be able to hire some help with the cleaning.  I wore myself out getting everything cleaned so that she wouldn't see the mess.  Really!  I think my brains got just a tad bit fried over the years.

Remember how the woodchucks ate my welcome plant?  Well it is beginning to grow again.  Here's a photo of how it looks now.  It's getting new blossoms.

I took this next photo as I was leaving work a few mornings ago.  The birds have found a new branch for their morning meetings.

Now it's time to get dressed and start my day.  I want to see what's for supper tonight too because Janet will be here.  Hmmmmm.   I think Pogo and I will sit out in the yard for a bit too, and enjoy this beautiful weather.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Just trying to play catch up....great photos you take! Love them all! Glad you are having weather that is pleasant enough for you and Pogo to be out in.
We were a few degrees below 100 yesterday and add a couple today and each day until the weekend when we should be back to the triple digits.
Humidity is horrendous! O well, glad my AC works good! LOL!
Wishing you and Pogo a great day and enjoy your visit with Janet! Enjoy your shredding...I do my own too, don't trust anyone else to do it unless I am there watching it all! LOL!
Off to finish blog visiting and then a nap...yep, think I will nap with my girls! Hugs, Mat

I can understand your hesitancy on hiring out the shredding.
It's good to see the plants recovering from being served up on the woodchuck salad bar.
I know what you mean about the cleaning lady. I've tried it two or three times and it just seemed to add to my stress level instead of making it easier for me.

Oh yes, government in all areas know more about you than you do yourself LOL. But I understand you, not taking the paperwork to the shredding department, and that you do it yourself. In a way you have the idea you can keep some things for yourself.
If you want to re- plant the hydrangeas into another area, wait untill fall, I think september is a nice period. And don;t take of the blooms that by then probably are getting brown, they protect the new buds for the next year. Next spring you cut of the dried blooms(careful, just the blooms) and you can prune it a bit in shape if nexessary by taking out some of the oldest branches.
Don't you do too much in the cleaning stuff. I can understand you want to have it all in a bit of order, before having your cleaning lady over the floor, but hey, you hired her to do just thaat, cleaning! So don't overdo and let her do the hard stuff!
You have a great day with Pogo and later on with Janet too.
Hug

I had to laugh because I do the same thing -- clean before someone comes in to do it for me. The only thing is that they do the deep cleaning that I can't do anymore. But I don't want them to think I'm a slob!

I shred my own things too. I don't want anyone peering into my personal business.
