A Lazy Wet Weekend

October 9, 2016

Good morning.  Tis gray and wet wet wet today.  The rain started sometime during the night, and will probably last all day.  Well, we surely do need it.  I don't think I've ever seen the reservoirs as low as they have been lately.  The bits of rain we've been getting certainly have not filled the reservoirs back up, but they have made sure things did not get any worse.

There's not much happening around here.  Even though it's a three day weekend, the wet weather is keeping the dwarfs at home.  Even Pogo won't be staying out on the porch for very long today.  He has become a creature of comforts.

Friday, Pogo and I went shopping to take advantage of a couple nice sales.  We stocked up on bird food and found a couple nice items to put away in the holiday gift drawer.  We got home just in time for Pogo to get his turkey treat from Joe (who had just got home from work).

Shortly thereafter, Deanne got here and we both left for our appointment at the shooting range.  I have to say, three weeks between practice sessions is just too long for me.  I did not do as well as I should have, but I did get one perfect bull's eye.  Smack dab in the middle of the center hole.  Yes!!!  Deanne did a great job, much better than I did.  Atta Girl, Dee!!

Last night, I tackled the gift drawer and tote.  I made a list of everything and who it was for, and then I made another list of what I still need.  Now if I'm really smart, I'll start wrapping, packaging and labeling things.  Hmmm, this remains to be seen.

Later, I started working on a new scarf.  Well, let's just say that I thought I would start working on a new scarf.  I put on a few rows, then tore it out and started over.  My stitch count was off.  To make a long story short, I finally got twenty rows finished, only after ripping out at least that many rows.  Either I'm using a bad skein of yarn (don't think so) or my hands are rebelling.  I will be changing the light bulb in my table lamp just to make sure my problem isn't the lighting.

Today I think I see another big bag of shredded material coming up.  I have boxed up lots of junk mail, magazines and catalogues to go through.  I like to remove my personal information before putting these things out in the recycle bin.  Unfortunately, some things come with your name and address scattered all the way through so you have to look carefully through everything.

So, I guess between the laundry that is waiting and the shred piles, I'll be busy for most of the day.  I guess it's a good day for the rain.

Today I have another Halloween quick page for you.  This witch might look mean, but she's just having a bit of Halloween fun with the little skeleton.

Here is your download link:

Now I think I'll catch up a bit with my morning blog reading before I put a load of clothes in the washer.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Sounds as tho you have enough to keep you busy while staying in out of the rain. I need to do a overall house cleaning.

Even if we don;t like rain, it is much needed Then it is good we have things in the house to keep us busy.
Pity there is so much time between the shooting practises. But still you managed to get a bulls eye. Wow.
This morning I saw a parakeet in the garden again, having a good snack of the bird food. It was only one, but may be his friends will come soon too.
Still quiet weather here, rather cool with 12-14 C, but rather friendly looking
I will take about half an hour to play in photoshop and then it should get busy around here
Have a wonderful day,
Hug
