Good morning. Today is supposed to be cloudy, but at the moment the sun is shining. My flag is softly waving in the breeze and the temperature will be right around 70 today. Gorgeous!!
Well, yesterday I met with my orthopedic doctor. My big toe does have an infection, but I have stuff to put on it every day until it is better. But that was not the problem with my foot. The new xrays of my foot, showed quite a bit of inflammation, tendinitis, arthritis and several spurs.
The good news is that my foot will survive. I will keep on soaking it nightly in Epsom Salt. I am quite wimpy when it comes to cortisone shots or surgery. I'd rather get along without either of these choices.
While the doctor was checking my hands and wrists (arthritis and carpel tunnel), he looked at one of my palms and said "I can tell you that your background is Northern European." Really? Now how does he know that just from looking at my hand? I will have to do a bit of research on this. Here's a photo of my left palm.
To be honest, it makes sense if you follow the journey of the passengers on the Mayflower through England, Scotland and Holland and then on to America. These were my ancestors, so I guess I am Northern European. But I really do need to do some research on this "hand" stuff.
My movie "Yankee Doodle Dandy" arrived Wednesday evening, so I sat and watched it yesterday afternoon. Oh my, what a joy!! Even though I've watched it so many times in the past, it still gets to me. I love my flag and country, and obviously Mr. George M. Cohan did too. If you have a chance to watch this movie folks, please do. You'll love it!
Now I really must get busy here. In a little while, the guys from the furnace cleaning company will be here to replace the smoke pipe on my furnace. So, till Sunday, Y'all have a magnificent weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,
Hooray for Yankee Doodle Dandy. What a great movie. I have seen it many times as well.
How interesting about the hand telling your heritage background. Never heard of such but that might be because I am not a doctor. Speaking of Doctors, my great Niece is graduating a year early from Medical School. She is going into Pediatric Neurology and Sports Medicine. She will be the first doctor on both sides of the family ever!
I just had a go round with my medication and it is making me sick to my stomach so I am going to lay down and see if it helps. Have a super day. Hugs, Beth and Cisco.
Seems we share some of the same foot issues. Mine are terrible and hurt so bad at times. I have bad bunions that I inherited.Plus no doubt have arthritis too. Really hurt at night. Have a hard time finding comfortable shoes as well.Like you tho, the less I see of a doctor the better.
Good that the news about your foot wasn;t too bad. and yes, if possible, keep away from cortisone shots and such as long as you can!
Funny that the doctor "read"in your handpalm and told you that you are probably from Noth european origine. I wonder if he really took that out of your handpalm, or is just a good observor of people and their characteristics.(hope it's the just word?)
Westher here is a bit less, still not too bad temperature, but for the days to come probably not good enough to sit in the garden. Well, we will see when temps go up again(I hope it will be soon).
Goping to put a little post on my blog now.
Have a wonderful day
Hug

I love the Yankee Doodle Dandy movie and James Cagney! We are in a heat wave ,all 90's. U G H ! Enjoying the cool morning air for a few more minutes. Rebekah has a birthday today so we had a cake made with the Irish flag. I think it will turn out nicely as she just returned from her trip there. She starts a new job July 5. Very nervous, hate to see my kids lose their jobs with Liberty but Jeremy can not move to Texas due to Addy's dad, who lives here and has joint custody of her. Noelle has been on the fence. Their kids and grandkids are all here but she is still undecided and does not have much time to decide. Rebekah thought of moving to Washington state if she did not find other work. Bittersweet, they all loved their jobs where they were. :-(
I need to put up a post about Rebekah so I better hop to it!
Stay cool and enjoy your day. Hugs, Anne
I had to laugh when I saw your palm...when we were kids we always thought that the "M" in your palm meant you were a daughter of Mary...yes, great Catholic school girls thoughts!
