A Fun New Rose

June 8, 2016

Good morning.  Today is another gorgeous sunny day, with a light breeze and temps in the low 70's.  Simply beautiful!!  I did not see any of the rain that was supposed to come yesterday, so maybe later today we'll get a few showers.

Well, this morning started out with a call from a young man whose voice I did not recognize.  He said he was calling about my inquiry to have the smoke pipe on my furnace replaced.  I was polite to him, but quickly got him off the phone.  Then I called the company that cleans my furnace to find out who this person was.  Luckily, he turned out to be the owner's son.  I will call him back shortly, and set up an appointment to have the pipe replaced.   Am I embarrassed?  No.  It's better to be safe than sorry.

Yesterday, I checked one of our new rose bushes, and found lots of buds on it.  I can't wait to see what the blossoms will look like.  This plant is called "Mint Julep Rose" and I have a couple images to show you what it should like.  This first photo shows the ad that I purchased the plant from.

And I borrowed this next image from Google.  It's going to be fun to see which rose our plant will look like.

I want to thank my friend Kyra for the link about plant props.  I looked it up and ordered a couple props for my peony plants.  The blossoms get large and heavy, and soon fall to the ground.  Hopefully, these plant props will keep the plants from toppling to the ground.

Today I'm expecting delivery of a movie that I ordered from Amazon a couple days ago.  It's a very old movie "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and it's one of my all time favorites.  It is about the life and music of George M. Cohan, and features James Cagney.  Cagney is simply awesome in this movie.  In past years, I've watched this movie at least forty times, but I'm looking forward to seeing it again.  The music and dancing alone get the heart all revved up and wanting to wave your flag.  If you haven't watched this movie, do yourself a favor and look it up.

I have a new quick page for you.  This one features Zlata and a friend enjoying a restful day by the shore.  Even a little bunny thought a day by the ocean would be fun.

Here is your download link:

Well that's my news for this morning.  Soon, I have to figure out what to make for supper tonight.  DIL Janet will be coming by after work.  Hmmm, I may have some macaroni and cheese in the freezer.  This is one of her favorites.  I'm off now.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,
Oh My Gosh what lovely roses. I really don't want to be jealous but I am getting a bit of the Green Eyed Monster coming out at me. No seriously, I am just loving all of your flowers. This Mint Julep is just about the most beautiful that I have seen.
I am past tired today. I didn't sleep well and tossed and turned most of the night. I need to call the doctor because it looks like I may have a nasty UTI trying to raise it's ugly head. I was hoping that it would go away if I drank enough water but that isn't happening.
Cisco needs to go out so I will get dressed and take him as soon as he finishes his breakfast. He slept in late but I didn't and I really didn't have the heart to wake him up and take him out. I knew he would let me know when he was ready.
Have a wonderful day! Beth

Glad my link of the plant props was of some help. That int Julep rose just looks awesome. And yes, it will be fun to watch it in real and see how the colors will come out.
You are right to check with the company if they called you.
Went yesterday for the tooth, and is done noow, but I will need to replace my denture cause it is at the end.
Lucky the health insurance covers a part of the costs.
But that is for later this year. Today is less warm, but still not bad weather, so i will do my shopping today.
Yesterday I helped Jan a bit changing the tire of his bike and put on new breaks. Gosh, it took a lot of time! he could done it by himself but sometimes an extra hand helps.
Okay, just a little bit of blog hopping and then get dressed and do some things here!
Have a wonderful day and fun with Janet.
Hug
Kyra
