Good morning. It's really nice here this morning. However, it hasn't been so nice in other parts of the country. Every time I hear that more rain is headed towards the mid-west and central parts of the country, I worry for the safety of friends living in that area. My goodness, I don't know how much more rain they can handle. Every day I say a little prayer that they make it safely through another day.
Folks, it's not just people who are having a difficult time with these horrible weather patterns. Our animals are having a hard time coping with all the flooding and chaos, and especially the noise from the thunder and lightning storms. If you can, try using a "thunder jacket" for your pets. It helps to keep them calm so that they aren't so frightened.
Yesterday I got a phone call from the "yard treatment" folks letting me know that they would be out to do my yard today. Well, about an hour ago they showed up. I watched (from indoors) as the technician went about spraying the whole yard. They use an all-natural liquid formulation of 100% organic ingredients that is safe for pets, people, birds, plants, etc. I'll let you know if this treatment helps with the mosquito problem.
Later yesterday afternoon, SIL Eddie stopped by and fixed the toilet problem. Yeaaaaaaaahh!!!!! I don't have to tell you how wonderful that is!!! God bless my SIL!!! It wasn't the funnest job to do, but he kept a smile on his face the whole time.
DIL Janet could not come by last evening because they added a new member to their family yesterday and she wanted to spend the evening getting acquainted. I have not been given all the particulars yet, but I do believe it is another kitty. Janet, I wish you much happiness with your new fur baby.
I had a request to put up a link to receive the blog posts via email. With a bit of help from a blog friend (thank you Ida), I was able to add the link on the top right side of this page, just beneath my avatar.
Today I have a couple more photos from our garden. One is another shot of our huge purple iris, and the other is a peach rose. The pink rose tree is in full bloom, so I'll try to get photos of that later today.
Later today, when Joe gets home from work, we'll go food shopping. So, after lunch, I'll get busy and make up my shopping list. This will be the extent of my excitement for the day. Woo Hoo!!!
Well that's about all my news for this morning. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Edna,
Gorgeous pictures as always. I sure hope that the treatment works, but I bet it will at least for all of the fleas and ticks and such. I am not so sure about the blasted mosquito's tho haha... I think that they are Mutants lol. How ever I will try and find the article that I read a while back and send to you. They are breeding a new kind of mosquito that will kill off the ones that bite humans. I am really not sure how that works but it was an interesting article.
I updated my blog first thing this morning. In a haze until my coffee kicked in. And I say morning but it was actually 10:00am before Cisco insisted that I get up. Don't tell anyone, but I gave him a bite of pizza that I had for lunch. Well ok... I gave him what was left of my pizza. A nice sized portion. He has been so good and the weight is coming off nicely. I am so proud of him. He can actually run now. And his jacket seems to help so much.
Guess I will close and get started on my closet. I never did that yesterday as I had planned, so have a great day... Hugs, Beth
I know how awful it is when you can't flush. We have a well and when the power goes out we are doomed.
I hope the treatment will help those sketters. They can be nasty.
Hank is doing so well. The railing is scary. I have giant Lego like blocks all around it. I don't leave him in that room already be. I have enough to put another row. Diaperboriginal came in this. I save enough for two class rooms and for myself. The grands fill them with small things.
The rains continue here. There is flooding. Luckily we live up a hill. Hugs
Let us know about that natural spray for the lawn and mosquitoes. Ugh! Why God created those annoying pests I will never know.
I am glad you are doing well. I agree with the weather patterns. Gosh, we have had a lot of rain here and California is drying up with fires and zero rain. Does not make sense at all.
I am lazy today. It turned out to be a rather busy day. Took our car in for an engine coolant flush and they found our radiator hose was leaking. Always something...
Glad to have it replaced for the hot weather coming out way.
Let me know who you use for blog books. I am wanting to do that and my cousin is journaling our childhood at his blog so we can have something good to give back to the kids.
Next month I will try to help him post about our heritage, our old neighborhood and our wonderful childhood.
ENjoy the evening. Take care Hugs, anne
Thank God for SIL's like Eddy!!!! I wished we had such a wonderful person around us, who is so handy and can help you out with so many things.
He is worth his weight in gold( and yeah, I know, he isn;t one of the lightests and smallest people in the world, grin!!!).
I will have the same wilde excitement today too: food shopping!!!!!!!
Okay, it isn;t the best thing to do, but sometimes it isn;t so bad neither.
Well, now it is really times for me to write down a little update on my blog, so I'm sending you a big hug and wishes for a wonderful day!
Kyra
I totally understand the dilemma of not being able to flush...not a good feeling. As the say...a royal flush beats a full house. Gives that a new meaning huh?
George rarely needs his thunder shirt any more, he's getting braver and braver all the time. Now it's only if there's a really loud storm. He used to freak out just from rain on the roof. You have a wonderful flushing good day!
