Getting A Bit Of A Late Start Today

June 14, 2015

Good morning.  Well, it is still morning, even though it will be noon in less than an hour.  I've been up for a while, but I get side tracked so easily.  I've been watching a program on TV called "Say Yes To The Dress" and it is a very interesting and entertaining program.   I love fashion, and it always amazes me at the styles that some women feel the most beautiful in.

I had thought I might sleep very late this morning, but Pogo had other ideas.  Once he knew that Joe was up and about in the house, he wouldn't stop barking.  He wanted his turkey treat, and he kept barking until I gave in and got up.   I opened the door, and he ran out into the house to get Joe and his turkey treat.  That's my boy!

Yesterday was a great day for photographing all the flowers that are blooming in our gardens.  Here are some of our roses.  Dwarf Helen took these photos with her phone.  Thanks, Helen.  They are so pretty, it makes me wish I had bought a yellow rose bush while we were at the garden center the other day.   Hmmmm.

Today, we have to find a place to plant the new plants that we bought at the garden center.  Before we plant them, I'll take some photos to share here.  One of the plants is a daisy with a blue center.  I've never seen a flower like this one before.

I'm trying to think of what I may have accomplished yesterday, but nothing is coming to mind. Aside from taking some photos out in the yard, it doesn't look like I did much of anything else.  How can this happen?  Hmmm.

I did finally tell the window guy that I'm not going to be buying those very expensive windows.  I'm going to be looking around for other estimates.  Actually, I have someone coming out next Friday to give me an estimate.  When I asked him why he couldn't come sooner, his answer was "Don't you realize how many other folks are ahead of you?"   Well, duh!!!  No I didn't, and to be honest I really don't care.  I'm only interested in "my" windows.  So I guess I'll be making a few more calls tomorrow.

My friend from work is coming by tomorrow for a visit.  Gosh, I haven't seen her since before I retired.  This will be such a fun visit.  Plus, she recently bought a new car, so  it will be fun to see that too.   I worked with this girl for many many years, and I have to say that she is the best co-worker anyone could have.  I'm so lucky to have had her for both my co-worker and my friend.

Well that's about all my news for today.  I did not have any breakfast yet, so now I'm thinking that I'll cut up a potato and some green pepper, and fry it all up with a couple of scrambled eggs.  Oh yes, that sounds yummy.  So, on that note I'll take my leave.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

That window guy is just trying to make you think he is busy and has a line of people standing in line to buy windows. (laughing) Sometimes I think most service people think consumers are just ignorant. I did tell U.S. BANK (my mortgage company) that I has nothing to do with anyone else account and I am only interested in mine and if they are that far behind(3 months) in servicing accounts they need to hire more people.(lol) When I told them that would be my last phone call after approximately 10 and my attorney will be calling. Or maybe he will just take action. Two days later, the problem was solved. That's good that you will be calling someone else. We might be seniors but we are not dumb bunnies.

My home is very comfortable with the two small window units. I will just take my time on Monday or as long as it take me to find an air conditioner service company who is willing to come out before noon and service my central ac unit. Some act like they are paying us to come out and do service work. It make you wonder how some are making a living. (lol)

I love your plants and the cool weather you were having is great on them also. I have the large elephant ears in the front of my walkway and they are beginning to turn a bit yellow because of all the rain and the heat. My Vinca' is not looking so great either. I pick the dead blooms off and hoping the new ones will make them look good again. Too much water and heat is not good for plants either....not together. If the rain is pouring down and the weather is not too hot, they seem to do better. Have a great Sunday.

Oh the flower photos are so beautiful!

We had to have plans and permits and everything to have the wheelchair ramp put on the back of our house too. It's so crazy since we own the home and the ramp is in the back. Our contractor did the permit work with the city,I just had to be home when they came for the final inspection. Maybe you can find a contractor who will do the paperwork with the city for your porch? The contractor will know best what the city wants to hear to say "yes."

I always felt the most beautiful in a suit, really! I loved when the dress shorts with a nice jacket were in style for summer business attire. It was comfortable and always made me feel confident and empowered; my kind of beautiful! Of course most single men found that confident and empowered look to be intimidating, but... ;)

I hope you have luck finding more affordable windows and someone smart enough to find a way to say that ALL of his customers deserve the service he wants to give to you rather than just that you're back in his line of customers and "this is where you send the check." Yeesh! When you talk to your customer they need to feel like the most important customer not told how many people are before them.

Have a wonderful visit with your friend!

Hugs, Nani

So what if you cannot rememeber doing anything "important" yesterday?
Today is another day and may be you will find a contractor for your windows who likes to come over soon, and make you feel the most important customer he has at the moment and also will be able to give you a reasonable estimate for some new windows?
Here the weather is a bit of a small rollercoaster, one day very hot, the other day lots of wind and drop of temperature of about 10 degrees, next day nicer temperature, but cloudy, then temperature going up again, next day down, almost no rain, very strange and not easy to plan things ahead( not that our plans often work out LOL).
Love to see pics of the new plants you bought for the garden.
