A Day To Be Thankful And To Remember

May 26, 2014

Good morning.  It started out sunny here, but soon turned gray with a light rain falling.  It's supposed to get quite warm today so I'm hoping that the sun comes out again later this morning.  We were going to do a bit of yard work today, and have a barbeque later this afternoon.  Plus, I'm sure there are many parades scheduled for today.  Here's hoping!

Jeepers, but the Mrs was wicked horrid again last night right up till she finally decided to go to bed.  I can't imagine why she is so miserable all the time.  She has had a very good life with plenty of money to travel and do fun things.  Her family all live within minutes of her house, and she has a lovely home with a beautiful yard.

During the night, I heard lots of noises coming from outdoors.  This morning when I looked outside, I found lots of trash and garbage all over the doorstep.  Critters had gotten into the barrels and made an awful mess.  There were little ants everywhere!  I cleaned it all up, and hopefully someone will put the locking lids back on the barrels later today.

After the Mrs was asleep, I worked on my afghan for a while.  I love how the colors are working up.  This morning I took some photos.  The red is a deep cherry red and the blue is a deep royal blue, but this was the closest my camera could do.

Yesterday, I took some photos of my yellow iris.  There are so many of them and they are just beautiful.  However, they are so tall that they keep falling over.  So, we cut several of them and put them in a vase.

Pogo and I are watching The Dinosaur Train on TV this morning.  I know it's for kids, but it is very interesting.  Today we will have a peaceful, relaxing day.  Even though I crab every now and then, it's a good life and I'm thankful for it.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a peaceful and happy Memorial Day.

Hugs, Edna B.

The afghan looks wonderful and is a perfect photo for Memorial Day!

I love your irises! Pretty, pretty, pretty! I've never tried to grow them.

Enjoy your afternoon and barbecue today!

The colors on the afghan are lovely, I don't know where you get all your energy to create one after another like that. It takes me forever to make a little dishrag.

To QJ: Ah, but you just whipped up a whole box full of beautiful doll body parts!!!!! I can't do that.

I hope the weather is behaving so that you and your family can enjoy the outdoors. Have a super day. Hugs, Edna B.

The colors are just beautiful. I love the white color in between. You are a fast one for sure. Enjoy Dinosaur Train, hah.

I though they were only a lilac colour - yellow ones are even more beautiful. I like the way you picked up the detail of the lines.
I realised I haven't visited for a while..nice to be back.

Sorry to hear the Mrs. made your shoft so hard.
Your afghan is growing, looks to become very nice, althoug I prefer the blue or even the green one more.
I think one in real pastel colors could be retty too, like soft peach with cream color, or soft yellow with soft mint green)
How beautiful your irisses are! If they are too tall and fall over, perhaps you could place one or two sticks and bind them on it, or you also have circle ones. You can use twigs from trees or bushes . Lots of possibilities.
I have a link for you with some examples.
You take a good rest after that difficult whift you spent with the Mrs.!
Have a great day(hope your bbq will go on)
