Countdown, one more day for trick or treating!! When I was a little girl, this was such a huge night for us. We walked for miles, sometimes filling more than one bag of candy and other treats. There were large groups of us out on the streets this wonderful night. Sprinkled thoughout, there were some adults dressed up in costumes to watch over the little ones in the crowd.
Things are so different today. Unfortunately, society has changed so that our children and grandchildren view their holidays entirely different from the way we saw them. I grew up in the 40's and 50's, and I must say that I think that was probably the end of the safer years and the beginning of many new changes.
As children and teens, we could walk for miles day or night without having to fear our safety. Today, that's mostly unheard of. Today, you have to walk in couples and groups in well lit areas. Today you cannot give or accept candy and fruit treats on Halloween, (or any other time) for fear they are tainted. Today, you may have to fear who will answer a doorbell on Halloween.Today, you're almost banished from the streets on Halloween. Most all your parties have to be indoors and well-chaperoned. Sigh! I understand the why for this, but still - SIGH!!
While you're doing your trick or treating tomorrow, don't forget to stop by to see what I have for treats. I promise it's something nice. No tricks!
Tonight I'm going to make it an early night. Tomorrow is still a working day, and morning comes very early. I thought I would share a cute little bubble thing I made a long time ago. I can't remember if I ever did show it, so tonight's the night. Tootsie Bubbles!!
Hugs, Edna B.

We trick or trated a long night on Halloween and LOTS of candy! In the 70s, it was in groups, but we enjyed that anyway, and we weren't allowed to eat ay candy until we got home and Mom checkwd it all, but still, a more innocent time.
We got abut 45 kids last year. Since we don't have kids of our own, this is a great holiday for us, the chance to be that "aunt and uncle with no kids" It's supposed t be nice, so we're planning on sitting on the porch in our costumes for the party later and greet the kids as they walk up. It'll be fun!
I have an award for you on my blg! See the entry that starts with a picture of pumpkin spice coffee creamers!
