Even The Turkeys Had Dinner

November 29, 2019

Good morning.  I hope everyone had a joyous Thanksgiving Day.  Pogo and I had a wonderful day, even though our dinner plans changed considerably.  None of the restaurants that are usually open on this Holiday were open.  Hmmm, what to do now.

We were really looking forward to that tasty Chinese food, but it was not to be.  So I cooked up a pot of pasta and meat sauce and we all sat down to a very tasty dinner.  Folks, it's not the food that makes it a joyous time, it's who you share it with.

After dinner, Pogo and I had a nap, what else is new?   I must have thousands of photos of my little guy sleeping, but I just can't help myself.  He looks so darned cute!

After our nap, I got out the pink afghan and added quite a few more rows to it.  I'm close to three quarters done with it.  Woo Hoo!  I'll have to take a photo of it soon.  It's really quite pretty.  I'm thinking that I'll send this one to our dear friend Ulf in Sweden.

Today, I want to work on my Christmas card.  I'd really like to order my calendars and cards to be printed by tomorrow so that I can get them in the mail before Christmas.  Wish me luck.

Yesterday, my turkeys were back, looking for their Thanksgiving dinner.  So I filled a bowl with feed and Dwarf Mike took the food out  to them.  He no sooner put the food on the ground, they all came running to get it.  It may sound strange, but it's a good feeling to know that the turkeys all had something for dinner.

There was a huge packet of sale flyers in yesterday's paper, so I guess I'll be looking through them today just in case there is something in there that I need.  (or want)  I think I'm pretty much done with my Christmas shopping though.  Later today, I'll check through things just to make sure.

This week I received a new book that I had ordered.  I used to work a lot with herbs, and I thought it would be fun to try it again.  There are some wonderful recipes in this book.

Now I have to go check to see if Joe is up yet so that Pogo can go out in the house and have his turkey treat.  I can't really get started on anything until I know that Pogo is all set.  I'm off now, so till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Sounds you had a pretty good week all together. I am happy for you. Pity the Chinese take a way wasn't available. Somehow strange, that you couldn;t get one. Usually that business is opene almost all the time! But as you said, you made another meal and it is the company that makes it taste extra good.
Good that Deanne took you out for some grocery shopping and pof course, as plannes, you took more than you first thought, but.... as you said, now you don;t have to go out for that for a longer time. I really hope the temperatures will not drop too much yet, This weekend here it will be arpound zero at night, and daytime something like 6C. Not all too much, but still not really bad either.
You are rather busy with all kind of projects. It is good to have things to do, and it's nice to do them at a time you want, hahaha. I should pick up my blanket project too soon. Lately I am rather lazy with crafting. I should find some spirit for it again. Don;t worry, it will come to me suddenly again.
Time to do some blog reading and some hopping around on internet, finding out things I need to know about all kind of things. And sometimes it is also interesting, because you stumble upon a website you don;t know but has great stuff to read or with wonderful tips of all kind.
You have a lovely weekend(oh, love the turkey story, they are funny birds, aren;t they?)and good week ahead too.
Hugs
Kyra

Well I fell in love with the Turkeys. I think that they are awesome birds. I use to have a few when I lived in the country instead of town but my dog would chase them and I wouldn't chain my dog.
If one thing makes me mad is seeing a dog have a huge yard to roam around in and chained to a doghouse or under a carport or a tree. I think that if they have to be chained or caged then it is time to look for a new home for them.

Have a wonderful weekend. I think that I am going to do some binge watching on the new tv. I have lots of movies and shows that I haven't had a chance to see.
Take care my sweet friend and I will give you a call when I can. xxx

Oh I meant to tell you that I have written down the name of the book you ordered and am going to see about checking it out at the library and if it is something that I can use then I will see about buying it.
It looks like it is a good one but I have learned never to judge a book by it's cover lol. xxx

So glad you had a good Thanksgiving. Too bad you couldn't go to the Chinese restaurant, but sounds as if you still had a good meal. The picture of Pogo is so adorable. And I had to chuckle that the turkeys got a good Thanksgiving dinner. Have a good weekend!

You are right in saying that it’s never about the food you get have, but those you share it with and it sounds like despite being disappointed you had a nice meal.

Pogo is precious. How sweet to feed the turkeys, too! I hope you have a delightful afternoon.

Pogo is a sweetheart and cute and cozy sleeping animals are the epitome of loved and safe!

I looked at that book a little bit. You used to work with herbs. I've been using CBD serum (cannabis without the part that makes you high) on my hands, which is how I'm able to type a little bit now. It works much better than some of the pills they gave me. Have fun with the recipes in the book and let us know how well things are working.

Hugs, Nani
