Good morning. Tis gray today and we're expecting some sort of storm. Snow, ice and rain. How much? We'll know when it gets here. I guess it's still a bit too soon for the weather forecasters to know for sure. All we know is that it is coming. And I say yuk, yuk, yuk.
Today is also the first day of a new month. This is it, the last month of this year. Here's the December page from my calendar.
Sixty one years ago today I became a mother. My first born was a baby girl whom I named Audrey Lynne. Thirty nine years ago I became a grandmother, and seventeen years ago I became a great grandmother. It's been quite an experience and I'm still enjoying it all these years later.
Audrey and her hubby Mac are on the road heading home from Kentucky. They went to pay respects to a dearly departed friend. I'm wishing them a safe trip, as they will be driving most all of the day. Audrey, I want to wish you a beautiful birthday. Maybe it can spill over into tomorrow? Now that would be nice. I love you Audrey.
Our turkeys come by most every day now for their food. Joe put some food out for them early this morning. We're hoping they come by before the snow gets here. Today will be busy. Joe has to check the snowblower to make sure it is ready, and we still have to get the plastic covers up on the front porch screens.
Here's a couple photos I took of our turkeys yesterday. It was cold yesterday morning, so Joe threw their food into the driveway. Thankfully, no one had to go out until after the turkeys had cleaned it all up.
Yesterday, Deanne brought me a big bag of home cooked food. Wowsie! There was a whole Thanksgiving dinner in that bag! And I ate it all last night. Yum, yum, yum. I did share the turkey with Pogo. Thank you Deanne, that was a super tasty meal.
Deanne had to work yesterday. It was "elf dress up day" at work and she looked adorable. She had on an elf tee shirt and peppermint candy pants. I didn't think to take a photo when she was here after work. We spent some time online looking for something for her to wear on "Candyland" day. That's coming up in about a week and a half.
I should explain. Deanne works at an Amazon warehouse, and this company seems to try to keep things interesting for their employees. They have special dress days, tee shirt give away days, and other goodies to keep things interesting.
Today I want to work on the pink afghan. It's almost finished. I have to decide how long it should be. I'll either be putting on six more rows or another twenty seven rows. It all depends on how it looks after the next six rows go on.
Now it's time for me to head to the kitchen and wash the breakfast dishes. Then I'll be doing some blog reading. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.
