Rather Cool Weather Coming Our Way

June 3, 2018

Good morning.  The sun is shining, but the temps have dropped a bit.  It's fifty five degrees now, but it's only supposed to get up to about sixty degrees today.  We have a few rather cool days coming up, plus a bit of rain the next couple of days.

I've been thinking about going to the market to do a bit of grocery shopping and I think today might be the best day for me to go.  I don't relish going out shopping on a rainy day.  To be honest, I don't relish going grocery shopping at all, but it's a "must do."

Well, it's been quite a weekend so far.  Jazzy's big day was yesterday.  She graduated from high school, so now the last of my grandchildren has grown up.  Here's a photo of Jazzy and one of her best friends, Cole.  They've been friends since kindergarten.  Congratulations and best wishes to both of them.

Yesterday was a warm day, so I decided to put my new fan in the window.  Hmmm, I should have check the weather for the next few days first.  I'll probably have to take the fan out and wait a few days before putting it back in the window.

I also did a bit of re-potting, and planted some petunia plants in my small kiln by the shed.  Joe cut down the wisteria vine by the shed.  (I asked him to)  It was getting unruly and taking over my little garden and crawling all through the Japanese Red Maple tree.  I will go online and order a different type of vine to replace it.

Last night, I was looking for something at Amazon, and I came across a set of coffee mugs that I've been admiring for quite a long time.  I never ordered them because I don't really need more coffee mugs.  However, last night I decided "why not?"  So I put them in my (online) shopping cart.  Now I have to decide whether or not I want to buy them.  Aren't they pretty?

Today I'll have to look through my other mugs to see which ones I can part with.  Years ago, I had a large collection of mugs.  Alas, the day came when I had to get rid of a lot of them.  Now I must do it again.

I've still got about four more rows to go to finish the Cranberry afghan, but I decided to start a new one.  I'll still work on the Cranberry afghan, but the lighter colors on the new one are easier for me to work with.  The colors are Raindrops and Goldfish (variegated).

I still have a couple more doll dresses to make but first I have to order some new yarn.  I have specific colors in mind for them.  This new afghan will keep me busy.  I have noticed that I'm slowing down quite a bit.  I think my days of crocheting a new afghan every few weeks are over.  Sigh, the joys of getting older

Today I have a new quick page for you.  This one has a rather nostalgic look to it.  I used Kyra's kit "Lifetime Moments".

Here is your download link:

Now I think I'll do a bit of blog reading before I leave to go grocery shopping.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I am like you. I hate going to the grocery store. I put it off that I run out things too early. Pretty granddaughter.

oh well, we're going through a heat wave here. It's 97degrees with a heat index of 108. Believe me it's 108 out there. My vegetable garden is being fried while in the ground. I pulled up the greens and put them in my compost bin. When it get too hot, they don't taste good. The cucumbers, tomatoes, cushaws, okra spinacn, kale and collards are hanging in there. I hope to eventually frame my garden and put everything inside. I have the uv covers but I need to frame it for them to fit. It's too hot to do anything now. Please shift some of that cold weather our way. We are also in hurricane season. Hopefully we don't get hit too hard. Harvey wasn't a direct hit storm here but we got all the water for days. It went to Rockport and Corpus. I've been reading keeping up with Pogo activities. (lol) For the next 2 months (as of now) my appointments are stacking. I think I will be doing another round of chemo in July. Wish me luck. It's not as bad as the cancer chemo but it still make you very fatigued. The optometrist told me I have cataracts forming in the back of my eyes. On Monday I has to go to the opthamologist and Tuesday I will be getting this catheter taken out that was used for dialysis. So far my kidneys are functioning enough for me to stay off dialysis and if in the future I need it I will do it at home. It's sad but if I hadn't been very strict in reference to my health care, I would have still been on dialysis and didn't need it. It's sad because they are after money. I got angry and left dialysis in November 2017. They kept putting meds in the machine to make me sick. We all should manage our health care and not put it in the hand of these pay check people. If you keep searching you can find good doctors. My Rheumatologist referred me to a friend in the medical centers and this young lady is a caring doctor (nephrologist) I will keep you informed and don't forget to send me some cold air. (lol)

Hi Edna,
I have to second everything Angelica Star said... It was miserable here yesterday. I had to go out and I couldn't believe how intense the heat was. Especially the humidity. It was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Remember when you asked me what my appointment was for and I said a follow up? Well yes but my Primary Care doctor wanted me to do all of these things for my diabetes. I had to tell her several times. I have an endocrinologist who manages my diabetes. She wasn't happy but I explained to her. I have a specialist and I cannot follow you both. It was very frustrating.

I am working on my blog in a little while but wanted to catch up with you and Mr. Pogo before I do that. Have an awesome day my friend... xxx Beth
