Mmmm, Gingerbread Trains. Yummy!

December 14, 2015

Good morning.  Once again, Pogo and I woke up early, had our breakfast and lots of fun play time.  He's been super huggy huggy lately.  Do you suppose he knows that Santa is coming soon?  Right now, he is snuggled up beside me and snoring away.  Gosh, it's such a soothing sound!

Well, yesterday turned out to be quite an interesting, yet fun day.  It all began when I started on the Christmas tree.  I got out all the decorations and made sure all the branches were just right.  Then before I started putting any of the ornaments on the tree, I thought I would plug it in.  Oh boy, surprise surprise.  Nothing lit up.  I unplugged and re-plugged.  Still nothing.  (It's a fiber optic tree)

So now I checked the tips of the tree branches to find the tiny optic bulbs.  Hmmm, I can't find any.   I also noticed that there was a chip in the tree base.  I guess my little tree is broken.  I  took it out to Joe.  After checking it over, he discovered that there was something rattling around inside the base where the wiring is all connected.  Sighhhhhhh.  Bad tree.

I called Amazon, and even though it came from one of their associated companies, they gave me a full refund.  So then I went back on line (Amazon) and ordered me another little tree.  So, for now, Pogo and I have no tree.  We do have a beautiful angel though, and if the tree isn't here soon, I'll set up the angel and place the gifts around her.

My friend Ellen came by and we had an awesome visit.  She is one of the best people I've ever worked with in the health field.  The other person is my daughter Deanne.   If you have work mates like these two, you are working with the best there is.

Speaking of Deanne, she brought gingerbread kits to Jack and Lilah (Ali's siblings).  Here's a photo of Lilah when she finished building her gingerbread train.  She's definitely enjoying herself, and that train looks yummy!

I also have a photo of my handsome little guy doing what he loves.  Sitting by the door, waiting for Joe to get home from work.

Yesterday afternoon, I finished packing one of the last two boxes to go out.  Today I will finish the last one and get them both to the Post Office.  According to the news on TV this morning, today is the last day to mail packages for Christmas delivery at the current rates.  I guess that means the rates go up tomorrow.  Phew!  I just made it!!

Here's a photo of two of the last few neck warmers that I finished.   Unfortunately, the red color did not photograph so good.  It should look more of a rosy rouge red.

Well, that's about all my news for today.  Now I think I'll make myself a cup of hot chocolate and get busy finishing up that last mailer box.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Edna,
Awesome post.... Love that train! So sorry to hear of your little tree... I hope that the new one arrives soon but if not then the Angel will be just a pretty and a bit different as well!

I have been working on the new blog that my friend Heather put up and posted a sneak Peek and posted that on facebook and Google plus and in our groups. Go take a look if you can and join the fun. Have you ever worked with Masks? They will be in stores December 21st so you have to stop in and take a look at them. They will be so pretty. Now all I have to do is get the Newsletter that is coming out in January and it will include a freebie written up and organized.

Having problems with my tummy today. It started last night... Just extreme nausea. I am giving my surgeon a call that did my surgery on my esophagus a call and get the records sent over. I think that I need to see a GI doctor as I suspect that this is not having anything to do with my meds any longer. I am suspecting that my achalasia is returning. We always knew it was a possibility. Achalasia is where the sphincter that leads from the esophagus to the entry of the stomach does not open and shut properly when you swallow and so food does not digest properly. I sure hope not but it might be something to check into.

Cisco is in my bed all cozy and snoring... I think that I will join him... Hugs, from Beth and the spoiled and pampered Cisco.... Give my little Pogo lots of cuddles hugs and kisses from us as well... He needs extra today!

Oh no, about the tree. My first thought was that you just got that tree. I am so glad they refunded and are sending you a new one. Hopefully it will be a quick turn around. I am so glad that I don't do a big tree anymore. That was my biggest stressor at Christmas.
Hmmmm, I didn't know that postal rates were going up. The post office isn't high on my goody list right now. We have had virtually no mail in over a month. Where can it be????. I have called three post offices and no one can help me. Missing checks, mailed packages and bills that are most likely due to be paid.
Well not going to let that spoil my holidays.
Hugs I like the scarfs/neck warmer.

i'm sorry your tree didn't work. same thing happened with our angel. we had her for almost 20years, but this year she wouldn't light even after I changed all the bulbs and fuses. I was so bummed. I saved her, but my mom helped us get another, for our tree. I hope this one lasts as long, she is beautiful too. I hope your tree arrives quickly!

that gingerbread train sure does look delicious!

You've been busy, but succesful. Such pity your little tree has broken down.Cross my fingers the new one will arrive real soon.
Little Ali is looking sooo pretty. I should make a layout with one of her photos one of these days.
But I quite like not being at the computer so often at the moment. Perhaps just because I am feeling lazy, but I am sure the real mood will come back soon.
In my mind am already planning dinner for Christmas. It has to be something easy and quick, because Jan works those days at his volunteer job so is home only at 7.50 p.m. in the evening. I think it will be a meat fondue, which is nice.
Good have to finish now, my back is starting to protest a little bit.
Have a lovely day, dear.
