Good morning. The sun is shining and it is 55F degrees. Soon it will 67, but then tonight will drop down to 41F. The cold temps are moving in folks. Saturday night is supposed to be 32F degrees, and Sunday night only be 28F degrees. Oh dear, it is just too soon!!!
Well, yesterday Pogo and I went to see his doctor. His regular doctor is not back yet from her maternity leave, so he met with a new doctor. I must say, he was not very friendly to her. This is strange because he likes all the other doctors there (at the hospital).
Anyway, she said that Pogo does not need the flu shot because he isn't around other dogs very often. She checked him for arthritis, and said that his right rear side (and leg) was a bit more advanced than his left rear side. She called in a pain prescription to the compounding pharmacy and they will contact me about delivery, etc. (a compounding pharmacy makes up smaller doses of meds for doggies that cannot take the regular meds.)
She also said that the new vitamins that I had ordered for Pogo would be good for him, and that I should also order him some glucosamine. As soon as I got home, I ordered a bottle of this from Amazon. Other than this, my little guy is doing just great. Here, he is asking me to pick him up and put him on my lap.
On our way home from the hospital, I tried to take a few photos with my phone of the beautiful tree colors. This a section that I cropped from one photo. These colors are just gorgeous!
Wow, the phone just rang and it was the "compound" pharmacy calling to say that Pogo's meds were ready for shipping, and how would I like to pay for them. Credit card, of course. Any other way over the phone?? I had a call earlier this morning from the fuel company, saying that they will be out tomorrow to fill the oil tank and clean out the furnace.
I have another QP freebie for you. It's nothing scary, just bits of whimsy. Some days I have an odd sense of humor.
Here is your download link:

Last night, I put a few more rows on the yellow afghan while I watched a bit of TV. I think about fifteen more rows will finish this afghan. Woo Hoo! It's such a happy looking afghan that I think I'll give this one to my Aunt Lucy for Christmas. All these years, she's been crocheting afghans and giving them all away to hospitals, nursing homes, vets, etc. This is one that she can keep for herself.
Well, I guess that's about all my news for this morning. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Edna B.

The colors on your trees are just gorgeous! And yes, it is entirely too early for those low temperatures. I hope Pogo does well with the new medicine.
Thank yu for the quick page, Edna! You know "a little odd" matches the sense of humor I often scrap with, so I HAD to scoop this up!
I'm not around dogs that often; I wonder if they'll tell me I don't need flu shot? Just kidding there1 ofter my start to 2013 in the hospital, I promised myself that I was going to get a flu shot every fall for the next 50+ years or until the eradicate the bug for good. The plan right now is that Friday will be my flu shot day. I realized while I was at or MS meeting last night that I totally forgot to reserve a bus ride to do it today. (rolling eyes at myself)
An "Edna-afghan" is a wonderful gift! I know that since the weather's been cooler at night I've been cuddling under mine a lot. I put another light blanket on top at night because Kaline likes to sit on me if I fall sleep and that includes some kneading first. I'd much prefer her to get her claws stuck in a cracker barrel blanket! I bet your Aunt Lucy loves the happy afghan for her!
Now it's off to get some lunch and then maybe play with Photoshop. :)
Hugs, Nani
Your little Pogo is a very blessed dogie. He has a wonderful care taker and home. I do not have a dog anymore. After loss of the last one, too much grief. No more. Enjoy your weather as it is still dry and hot here.Suzanne has not sold their house yet. Several have looked at it.
Funny, Pogo didn;t like the vet! Good to hear that in general the little guy is doing okay.
He can look soooo "begging"hwne he wants to be picked up LOL!
Our Brodski is inside a lot more these days and for now in the evening he is on my lap as soon as I am installed for the tv watching. And protesting when I move or have to go to the kitchen or something.
Sometimes I remove him and then he is more or less happy to lay between Jan and me on the couch.
he colors of fall are alwaysso wonderful, only a pity it announces colder weather and all that goes with it!
Well, have a wonderful day, my dear.
Hug

We used to use a compounding pharmacy when our cat Baxter was still with us. It's nice to have a place that can do this for our furry friends. Those fall colors are gorgeous...we're certainly enjoying them as we travel through the Carolinas.
Maybe Pogo was having an off day and just wasn't his usual sweet self with the new vet. Or, he could pick up on some vibes that we humans can't and was just making his statement clear. Who knows what goes through their fuzzy little brains.
