Neither rain, nor snow, nor heat..............Really?

August 14, 2015

It's so close to noon that I'll say good afternoon.  After a restless night, I'm a bit tired and moving slowly.  Once the breathability of the air gets better, I should be sleeping better and getting about a lot easier.   Right now, we are having a warm spell, but Autumn is right around the corner, bringing some cooler air with it.

Most of yesterday I was busy watching for the mailman to get here.  I had put out some mail, but alas he never did show up.  For some reason, this year is not our best year with the Post Office.  This is the third time that they have not come by to deliver or pick up mail.  I did call the Post Office at 4:10 p.m. and was told that the carriers were still out delivering.  Well, we watched and waited, but the little white truck never showed up.  I put the mail back out this morning, and am happy to say that it was finally picked up.

Tomorrow, Pogo and I will be going to Kevin's party.  Several of my grandchildren and great grandchildren will be there, and it will be so good to see them all together.  I know Pogo will be ecstatic.  He just loves being around people, and of course, Sassy (Dee's doggie) will be there too.

Remember I mentioned the peanut butter/bread treats that I put out for the birds?  I took a few photos (through the door window) of some of these little birds gobbling it all up.  They really are fun to watch.

I also took a photo of one of the blooms on our butterfly bush.  We thought we had lost this bush too from the harsh winter, but it is making a beautiful come-back.

When Joe got home from work yesterday, we did some grocery shopping.  By the time we got home, and I had all my things put away, it was time to make supper for Pogo.  After supper, I was too tired to start playing with the new burner.  I did buy ingredients to cook up something tasty on it, but that will have to wait a bit.

Speaking of food, Pogo keeps coming over to me with that "please feed me" look.  There's not much else happening here, so I think I'll go rustle up some lunch for both of us.   Before I go, let me post another picture puzzle to keep your brain healthy.  This puzzle has 15 hidden wolves in it.  Have fun.

I'm off to the kitchen now.  So, till Sunday, Y'all stay cool and have a magnificent weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh I love the little peanut butter treats for the birds. Do you toast the bread? Great fun to be had at the party. I am so happy that your able to get out and about now after all of the sickness that you had endured. How is your hand doing?

The doctor prescribed me a new sleeping pill and I took it last night and had a terrible night. I did not sleep well at all. He specifically told me to dedicate 8 hours to sleep. I am lucky if I had 3 in total. Of course my daughter Karyn is here with Foxy and she wants to sleep on top of my head and growls if Cisco wants up beside me so I had Cisco at my side and she at the top of my head and we all 4 finally fell asleep.

I am sorry that I have not had a chance to blog or do much of anything really the last few days. I have not been feeling really well and this heat is getting so hard for me to handle. I took Cisco out last night and it was like a slap in the face it was so hot. Jonathan and Karyn are both in cranky moods today and so I am leaving them be and I am not sure what is wrong but the apartment complex is totally out of water. I didn't do the dishes last night and there fore I was going to do them and now I can't. I am going to call the office in a little bit and see if they have a time estimate for it to be turned back on...
I am heading down for a nap... Hugs to you and Pogo... Beth and Cisco.

I could only find 8 of those wolves. I better look again! I hate when I can not sleep. I have started taking afternoon naps, today I barely made it to 11:15 AM and I fell asleep until 12:30! LOL! I need to get moving. I have such terrible allergies and they are really kicking up in the summer. For some reason they never really settled down this year. We had that huge cottonwood tree taken out and they left the stump. We noticed new branches coming in and the lowest layer are rotting and dead. UGH! I think we will have to clean it up ourselves and buy that stump removal. That is the reason why we had to remove it plus the cotton flies off of there and makes me sneeze and my eyes water. UGH! I love trees, in the forest! Take care.
