I'm On The Mend!!

January 18, 2013

It's two in the morning, and I'm sitting here playing on my laptop.  So yes, I do believe I'm starting to feel better.  Most of the day and evening was spent in bed getting lots of rest.  Tonight, my favorite programs were on TV, so I'm feeling pretty good right now.

Tonight on Double Divas, they were trying to make a sexy bra for a nursing mother.  I must say that they certainly did succeed.  Wowee, they never had stuff like this when I was a young new mother.  It's probably just as well though.  Without the sexy nursing bra, I had five babies.  Imagine what I could have done with that glorious new bra!  (I think the Alka Seltzer cocktails are getting to me!)

It's amazing how short the down time is this time.  Getting the flu shot really does make a big difference.  Normally, without the shot, a bad cold will put me down for more than two or three weeks.  So, a week or less is pretty good!!

I obviously don't have much news, seeing as how I haven't been anywhere all week.  But I do have a new photo art for Photo Art Friday.  The theme this week was entrances and exits.  I think this sort of fits my piece of photo art.  My little group of goslings are headed off into an unknown future together.  As they pass by, their friend Robin is asking "Can I Come Too?"

I started with a photo of the robin in the grass, removed the robin, then applied "Leafy landscape texture" from Bonnie at PDPA.  Then I put the robin back in, added the group of goslings and the moon from other photos (of mine), added a speck of the texture again over all, then brushed in the light rays. Voila!

Now I'm going to turn in.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

lovely image and thanks for the full description of process, I hadn't thought of removing an item before texturing and then putting it back - always good to have another tool in the kit

Yeah for you Edna! Good to hear you are on the mend.
Isn;t it terrible that a lot of medication isn;t in the health security anymore? And when you get prescription from the doctor, wow, that almost always are much more expensive things.
If you don;t need someting real special, forget it, get something out of a drugstore and it will help too, and is much less expensive.
I hope you received my mail with the little surprise?
Okay, have to go posting( I am late again LOL), take care of yourself, first get better, hopefully you don;t have to go to work. It would be better if you could have some more days to recover!
Hugs
Kyra

Good news! glad you are feeling some better, don't rush back into work though cause the relapse is so much worse!
Love this photo you created! Looks great!
Well, off to do some work for a while, been kind of busy and not on the computer every day, but that will come to a halt soon. My boss will be in India from 16 Feb to 6 April. I will have lots of free time on my hands....LOL!
Have a lovely weekend you two! Hugs!!

Edna, I love your PAF post ... it is beautiful and touching. I have to ask, how did you paint in the moonlight? That is amazing. I wouldn't wish it on you, but you do beautiful work when you are sick. I remember when Micheal Jordon was still playing for the Bulls ... he would play his best games when he was sick ... maybe there is something to that. That said, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better, just don't try to do too much too fast. You don't want to have a relapse. So how about a little Chicken Soup and maybe some Gatorade. Replace some of the electrolytes you lost while you were sick ... that could make your recovery even faster.

Dogs are especially astute when it comes to understanding when you are not feeling well, or even if something is bothering you ... they can pick up on all the little cues, even body language. Your little Pogo is trying to help you get better ... he sure loves his Mom.

I am off to the store again today. I make lists, but in a few days the list is long again. Today I have to go get food for Izzi. She is down to the bottom of her bags and I have to go farther for her food, so I can't wait until the last minute. I don't mind because I want to stop at Sears and get some green shirts to wear next week for the Raptor Education programs we are doing. Since I am just starting up again, I don't have any of the NIRC shirts to wear yet. I like shopping ... don't know why. I don't buy much (my Hubby would disagree)but I enjoy looking. I may take my camera to Sears with me and take some pictures of "Hardware" for next weeks PAF prompt ... not a bad idea:)

I know you miss going outside to take pictures. At least the weather hasn't been inviting so you can feel good about having a reason to stay in. Is Pogo using his little indoor potty arrangement? I have been struggleing with how cold it is here and the weather man tells us that it will be worse next week. One day the high for the day will be only 12 degrees ... I don't even want to think about the low for that day. So far Izzi hasn't felt the need to come in when it is cold, but I am guessing she will meet her match next week.

Stay warm and snuggly. Have some yummy soup and tea and all the things I told you about above ... Hoping this Flu ends soon and you can get back to life as usual. You have a nice restful day, Edna

What an incredible photo of the robin and goslings - wonderful image with a dreamlike quality to it. Perhaps I need to work while under the influence of the alka seltzer cocktails! Glad you're on the mend and feeling a little better.

This is really sweet. Love how the beam of light is shining on the little goslings and the robin appears to be talking to them.
Glad you are feeling somewhat better.

That art work is fabulous, Edna! The flu hasn't affected your creativity. :)

I'm glad you're starting the feel better. I have that to look forward to from now on since I will be making a flu shot an annual practice now. We stubborn ones have to learn the hard way. (whistles and looks up feigning innocence)

Oh, and I had access to sexy bras and NO kids, so I think you just have to be sexy to start with. ;)

Your book inspired me to get my journals organized and that is my afternoon project today.

Keep relaxing and keep recovering!

Hugs, Nani

it is quite fascinating how you take stuff out and put stuff in. I love the effect and am curious to discover a little more of the fun of photo art.

an aside, I appreciate your perspective on the BEing sick stuff as I had it too, yet was only briefly out of commission. actually, I lost my voice for a couple of days and I noticed I enJOYed BEing quieter!!!

I sort of felt mixed about having got the flu shot and still getting sick, but your perspective helped me see that in a whole new light!!

Aww, glad you're feeling better! Your comments about the bra made me LOL for real. I haven't had a good belly laugh like that in a long time. Love the artwork and photos. Huge hugs! Sü
