Good morning. We should see some sunshine today with temps in the mid thirties. Too cold for me, I'm staying indoors. Thank goodness my Pogo uses wee wee pads. He doesn't like going out in the cold or yukky weather, and neither do I.
Well, I got a wicked super surprise in yesterday's mail. My Christmas cards and calendars arrived. Can you imagine? I just uploaded them to Vista Print on Friday night. Now I call that awesome service! Last evening, I addressed about half the envelopes and wrote labels for the calendar packages. The calendars won't be able to go out till next Tuesday because I had to order more envelopes for them. Silly me, I thought I had some.
My favorite program, Project Runway, started it's new season last night. After watching it, I fell asleep. However, I guess I was too excited about my cards and calendars because I did not sleep past two o'clock a.m. So, I got up and crocheted on the red and black afghan for a while. After that, I was able to get back to sleep for a while.
Today, I'll post the first of my favorite old Christmas photos. My son Gary sent this one to me many years ago. This is him, his wife and all six children. Today, all the children are adults in their twenties and thirties, and one of them has two children. All but his oldest daughter, Shanna, and her two sons live in Florida. Shanna lives not too far from me.
Many years before this family photo, there's another photo of my son Gary, taken on Christmas Eve. At age eighteen, just before he left to go in the Navy, he was my alternate Santa Claus. (The regular Santa had imbibed a bit too much during the day.) And this is his Dad sitting on his lap.
There are so many wonderful memories in my old photo box. I'll be sharing these right up until Christmas.
Today, I'll put the first batch of my Christmas cards in the mail. Later, I'll address more envelopes so that I can get the rest of them in the mail. Tomorrow, Deanne is taking me to WalMart to pick up a few things. I'll get a couple of the padded envelopes to hold me over till the ones that I ordered get here.
I need to pick up a few more things for my daughter Laura Jean. The social worker at her facility called yesterday to let me know of a few things that she needs, some clothes and a few accessories.
We're getting really low on cracked corn and corn cobs, so yesterday, I called the feed and grain store and ordered two fifty pound bags of cracked corn and two bags of corn cobs. The corn cobs are for the squirrels. They love them. Joe will pick them up in his truck tomorrow.
On that note, I imagine my turkeys will be here soon looking for their breakfast. When they see one of us bringing the food out to them, they just stand there and wait for the food to hit the ground. Then they all run to the food to chow down.
I think I'm ready for a hot cup of coffee now. So till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

Oh the memories, I was just looking at pictures of Christmases past:) Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
Edna, I enjoyed your old family photos. You have a great family.
Vista Print -- yes, they rate high with me, too. I ordered return address labels from them and expected arrival in about 10 days. They came MUCH SOONER than that, so I was very pleased. That enabled me, like you, to get some items on my To Do List crossed off sooner than expected.
However, just this morning my hubby noted they have not yet charged our credit card for the purchase. Don't know what's up with that.
Have a good weekend!
I loved seeing the old pictures of your family. Thanks for sharing them. When I wake up at 2 a.m. I go for the crocheting too. Then I can go back to sleep. Stay warm. Don't go out in that cold weather unless you have to.
Memories of past Christmasses have to be cherished. During the month of December heading to Christmas, I also think back often of Christmasses gone by and there are(and thank God for that) lots of happy and fun memories.
Really a good thing that Pogo uses wee-wee pads, so you and Pogo don;t have to go out when it is too cold.!
I ordered myself to have a very lazy day today, you will read why in my post of today. And somehow it is hard to stick to it LOL.
There is one thing I just have to do and that is hanging out the food for today for the birs. So I will do that first and then make my blogpost.
Take care and have a lovely day,
sending a big hug
Kyra
Love the old photos! And I'm so glad you're being so conscientious about feeding the hungry turkeys and squirrels.
