A Visit With Santa Claus

December 8, 2019

Good morning.  The sun is shining, but the temperature is only 25F degrees.  Brrrrr!  If we''re lucky, we may see temps of 32F degrees later today.  Temps the next two days are supposed to be nice and warm, but it will also be raining.  At least, that's according to my phone app.

Yesterday, Joe went to the Feed and Grain store and picked up my order of cracked corn and corn cobs.  My flock of turkeys (seven of them) were thrilled!  Now we won't run out of their food.  They hung around the yard most all day, and Joe fed them again in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Deanne came by and we went to WalMart to pick up a few things.  While we were there, I decided to buy myself a jacket for this cold weather.  I usually wear a sweatshirt jacket or my little green Spring coat year round.  Lately though, the cold gets to me more so I thought I should have a warmer jacket.  Plus I got me a fuzzy bed jacket for when I am sitting here crocheting.  Wowsie!  It is soooo warm!

And, you'll never guess who we bumped into as we headed towards the pet department.  There in all his glory was Santa Claus!  Oh boy!  He was having his picture taken with a little boy, and I told his assistant elf that I wanted a picture of me with Santa too.  He gave me a hug and a candy cane, and I told him that he had made my day.  I just love this man!

Here is Deanne with Santa.

And here is me with Santa.

A package came this morning.  It was the padded envelopes that I had ordered from Amazon.  So, I guess today I will get my calendars ready for mailing.  Plus I want to finish wrapping the gifts that have to be put in the mail.  Those boxes need to be labelled and taken to the Post Office.  Everything has to be out of here by the end of the week.

Deanne shared an article on Facebook, and asked me to share it here with you.  It's all about making a little boy very happy this Christmas.

Carlos has been in the hospital since August 31, waiting on a heart transplant.  He will be spending Christmas in the hospital and wants lots of cards to decorate his room.  Surely we all have an extra card that we can send to brighten up this this little boy's holiday.

Well, that's my news for today.  After I do a bit of blog reading, I want to address a few more envelopes.  I'm getting another batch of Christmas cards ready to mail.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Glad you found a nice warm coat for the frigid temps. NO matter our age, it's always fun to be get a hug and a candy cane from Santa! Love your photos! God bless Carlos this Christmas. Wishing you and Pogo a good evening.

So nice to see the photo of you and Santa, Edna, and the turkeys must really have appreciated the food since the ground is snow covered now. I will also include a card for Carlos, and had not seen the news story. Like you, I still send cards out, despite the increase in postal costs. There are many people who don’t anymore and instead use e-cards and text messages, but I won’t be doing that anytime soon. It’s the personal messages I like to include in all my handwritten cards that I enjoy doing.

Hi Miss Edna

Mommy reads your blog to us a lot. We especially like when you put pictures of our Interwebs friend, Pogo.I don't start Feline Obedience School until next year, but Mommy and Marco are teaching me to read and write in human. (Mommy still helps me write) I like the pictures of you guys with Santa. I want to ask Mommy if Marco and me can send Carlos a card. It sounds like a nice thing to do for Meowy Catsmus.

You're doing such an amazing job with the cards and packages and calendars. I've lifted barely a finger in preparation for Christmas! You're putting me to shame! I'm glad that Santa visited you...or maybe you visited him!

I just saw this post. I am so behind. So fun to see you with Santa. You got a candy cane so he knows you have been a good girl this year. Thanks for telling us about Carlos. I will try to find a cute card to send him.
