Today We Honor Our Veterans

November 11, 2019

Good morning.  Today is Veterans Day, a day to honor all those who have served.  My family tree is chock full of Veterans and covers every branch of the service.  Because of all our brave Veterans, we are able to enjoy our freedom.  God Bless each and every one of them.

Yesterday was rather quiet for Pogo and me.  I spent several hours going through lots of old photos.  My goodness, so many memories.  I still have lots more photos to go through.  There's one photo in particular that I'm looking for.  Hopefully I'll find it.

Tis gray outside right now with temps of 39F degrees.  My phone app says we may even hit 50F degrees later this afternoon.  And, you're not going to believe this, but my phone app says that tomorrow's high temp will be 59F degrees with SNOW.  Now I ask you, how is this possible?

For those of you who have bought a new laptop with Windows 10, and those of you are going to buy one, here's a tip if you are like me and want to use a mouse instead of the touch pad.  Fold a paper napkin and tape it over the touch pad.  It's easy to replace when it starts to get ratty.  I did this, and so far it seems to be working just fine for me.

On TV, they are showing the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.  It is 70 feet tall and is set up, ready to be decorated.  I think it's a shame to cut down this beautiful tree, and the number of lights that go on it is a shameful waste of energy.

I think a much smaller tree, maybe only twenty feet tall, and a sprinkling of lights on it would be quite beautiful and sufficient.  Why do they have to be so wasteful?  Not just them either.  Anyone who does this falls into this category of being wasteful.

The weather reports are forecasting wicked cold temps for us really soon.  This makes it difficult for me to go out because the freezing cold makes it hard for me to breathe.  Something tells me this is going to be a long cold Winter.

Today I'd like to start wrapping a few things.  All boxes needing to go in the mail should be ready to go out in about three weeks.  Yup, Christmas is right around the corner.  I keep telling myself that "today is the day to start wrapping" so I may as well do it today.  I know I'll feel better after I get it done.

Before I leave to do a bit of blog reading, let me share another cute kitty cat image that I borrowed from the web.  I hope it gives you a chuckle.

Now I'm off.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I do own a lap top but seldom use it. I am always using my desk top. I doesn't like the touch pad either on the lap top and when I use it, I will use my mouse. I can't seem to get things moving where you want it to go with the touch pad. Windows 10 is okay now but there was a lot I had to learn. It has a lot of live apps and it will eventually take a lot of your data limits if you don't turn them off. I right clicked on each one, go to more and turn off the live app. It took me a while to know what was happening. I hope you and Pogo have a healthy and beautiful day.

In our city in Nevada we had a beautiful tree in the center of town. It was planted by the towns people and it is really big now. It didn't have as many lights on it as you would think but still a lot and now of course they have the new lights that are more energy efficient but I understand your frustration and concern over this.

I am enjoying my lunch. It is very wonderful. Jonathan bought this wonderful chicken salad from Walmart so I added that to my plate of smoked turkey, green beans and some skewers of tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and mushrooms. My son Nathan had a party event at his work and the left over food was split up among the staff.

It is fixing to get bitter cold for you Edna. Pull out your wonderful heated throw and try and stay in as much as possible.
Oh great idea about the touch pad. I have a band-aid on my camera on my laptop. I read how the camera has spy ware and spies on us so I covered mine. I can always take it off If I want to use it.
Then the other day my daughter Laurie said we better just get use to it since our cell phones records everything that we say.

Have a wonderful day and have a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy just resting. Cuddles to my Pogo and you to my sweet friend...

Colder weather is set to arrive here in Nashua, NH, as well by Tuesday. Today is just gray and overcast and perhaps the weather is fitting for the Veterans Day holiday. We walked to Main St and watched the parade. It was short, but important to attend these events. Thanks for your recent comments on my posts. I try to keep up with both posting and reading other blogs, but sometimes time runs short; however, I do all.
