Our First Snow Of The Year

November 13, 2019

Good morning.  Tis a wee nit nippy this morning.  The sun is shining and the temperature is 18 F degrees.  Today's high is supposed to be around 31 F degrees. Guess who isn't going outside today.

Well, yesterday we had our first snowfall.  I'm just not ready for this stuff.  At least most of it disappeared quickly.  Here's a photo of the snow on some of the leaves on the ground in my driveway.   I have to say that it does look pretty against the various colors of the leaves.

And what did I do to while away the day?  I wrapped presents.  Two of my mailer boxes are now
finished and waiting to be taped up and labeled.  When I got tired of wrapping, I paid a few bills.  I just have to put the bills outside by the mail box to be picked up by the mail man.

After supper last night, I picked up the pink afghan and crocheted a few rows on it.  I'm trying to get it finished so that I can start on another one.  My grandson Trio is wanting one in his favorite colors, Red and Black.  While Audrey was here, we catalogued all my yarn.  I checked this list to see if I had any of these colors.  I do have the Red, but not the Black.  I'll be ordering some today.

While Audrey was here, she took this photo of one of our creative squirrels helping himself to some birdseed.  Even if they are pesky, they are fun to watch.

I just noticed that we never took my air conditioner out of the window.  I'll have to see if Joe can help me do this when he puts the screen covers on the porch.  It will help to keep the heat in and the cold out.

Today I'm going to make a pot of meat sauce and spaghetti.  DIL Janet may be coming by this evening, and I won't have to take time away from our visit to cook.  If I were smart, I'd cook enough meals for the next few days and put them in the freezer.  But I don't have enough energy to do this.  I do have the energy to cook one meal.  So be it.

Well, that's my news for today.  Before I go, let me post a chuckle to start your day.  This was borrowed from the web.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I am always impressed by how inventive and energetic squirrels can be in pursuing food!

The snow look pretty on those leaves. I do understand the coldness because I've been there growing up in North Louisiana. (lol) I always say I will never want to go through that again but I guess it's good to do some of the time. Not every year. I miss the coldness now for many years since I've been living in Texas. The heat will make you change your mind. We have temps in the mid 30's but it is still not bad. We are using heat but the heat is turned down to 76 degrees and not too hot. Maybe we will be lucky to get some snow for Christmas. The sun probably will be shining then too and the heat will probably be back for Santa's visit. I hope you and Pogo have a beautiful and healthy day. Stay inside and enjoy the outside scenery.

Loved the response from the Marine! Wish it was a fact! We need more responses like that one I do believe.
I am going to try and work on my blog today but I have had some really strange hours at home since returning from Nevada. Either I toss and turn or sleep to much. I am still so tired from my trip and I had plenty of rest while I was there.

I think the snow is really pretty in the photo but I know that it is really cold. We were going to disconnect my portable air conditioner but we have had too many cold fronts followed with really hot days.
Christmas year before last everyone was wearing shorts. Our weather is just so strange.

I will try to call you but we have Foxy and Oliver in the house and it is super noisy here. To be expected. The kids are out for a teachers work day! Love to you and my sweet Pogo... stay warm... xxx
