Yup, The Cold Caught Me!

January 31, 2019

God afternoon.  Tis cold here, and my car is frozen.  It runs, but I cannot get into it.  The locks and doors are frozen shut.  Pogo and I were all ready and wet out to get in the car, but surprise!  After trying with no success to get into my car, we came back into the house.  I had to call the VCA and reschedule Pogo's appointment til next week.

Well, now I know why my eyes would not stay open yesterday.  I have a full blown cold!  Thank goodness for Alka Seltzer, cough drops, and anything else I can get my hands on.  So, now I'm back in my jammies and flannel housecoat.  In a little while, I'll maybe indulge in a little nap.  Hmm, maybe not, because Joe will be home soon and Pogo will be wanting to go out into the house and have his turkey treat.

One good thing about having this cold is that I fell asleep early last night and slept just about the whole night.  But that's it.  The cold itself is sucky!  Thank goodness I have my little Pogo.  Without him, I probably wouldn't get out of bed until my cold was all gone.  He does keep me going, and I'm so thankful for him.

Last night DIL Janet came by and brought us take out supper from Wendy's.  Oh yum yum!  I haven't had that in a long time and it was simply delicious!  We had a super visit,  and got a surprise when it was time for her to go home.  It had been snowing and the wind was blowing pretty good.  It was too cold for me to go outside so I had to wave goodbye from inside the door.

After watching TV for an hour, it was time for a date with the sandman.  I think Pogo has a cold too.  He's beside me on the sofa snoring away, all snuggled into a pile of blankets.  He did not want breakfast today, so maybe he's just not feeling right.

A couple days ago, our turkey friends came back to feast once again on our birdseed.  I did take a couple photos to share here.  These birds really are fun to watch.

This second photo shows the turkeys enjoying the cup full of birdseed that Joe threw out for them.  The rest of the flock is over by the bird feeder.  I think there were about thirty or more turkeys in this group.  Isn't nature great?

I borrowed this picture from a friend's blog to share here.  The message it gives is a very important one for all of us.   I think that all generations should be able to interact with one another, and enjoy being with each other.  We have so much to learn from each other.

Well, I think it's time for my Alka Selter cocktail.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay warm and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh, Edna, I am so sorry you are sick. I have not had a cold in a long time but I know I am miserable when I do have one. Take care of yourself. Hopefully with the warmer weather coming you will feel better. I didn't even try to get into my car today. Too cold to stick my nose out of the door. Brrrr! Give Pogo a hug for me and stay as warm as you can. Bed is probably a good place to be.

Those tiny caravans just look adorable!
But i guess you're not having the age anymore to go for travels with it, pity though, but reality is there.
I am glad you don;t have to deal (at least yet) with that really wicked cold in the West and North-West. we saw some of it on our news. Brrrrrr, it is no fun at all!!!
Hoep it will not reach your area and also that it will go away very soon for those poor people.
We have some dull weather here, during nights it freezes a bit(two or three degress below zero) and at daytime it goes up to around 2-3 and later in the weekend may be to 5 above.
Not my kind of weather, but okay, we cannot complain.
sorry you have caught that nasty cold, you just try to stay warm and take lots of naps and hopefully it will fly away in short time!
Take care, snuggle into lots of warm blankets,
Hugs
Kyra

Edna I am so sorry you have caught a cold, or it has caught you rather. I am not a fan of them I can tell you that. So sorry that your not feeling well. Stay snuggled you and Pogo and I will be wishing that your better tomorrow.
I am afraid I am trying to come down with something as well. Haven't felt warm all day and I slept most of the day. It is really late now, almost daylight and I have just gotten up again. I try to rest but I sleep some and have to get up some.

Love the photos of your little turkey friends. So nice of them to stop by and visit. Rest well and call when you feel better. Hugs, Beth
