The Golden Years' Charm

January 4, 2019

Good morning.  Tis a pretty, sunny winter day here in New England.  Temps are in the mid thirties (37F) and heading for the mid forties.  If I can muster up the energy, I'll go out today to do a few errands.  If not, well, we'll see.

I got up early this morning, around 5 a.m. and paid a few bills.  I made myself a cup of coffee, but never got to drink it.  Instead, I fell back to sleep for a few hours.  I'm up now, but I'm tired.  That extra sleep took all my energy with it.

It's amazing how my mind and my body just don't ever seem to be on the same track anymore.  I used to be busy all the time.  Nowadays, I can sit and think about all the things I'd like do, and while I'm thinking my body gets tired out.  Thinking seems to use up a lot of energy.  Really?  How can this be?  I guess it's all just a part of the "golden years" charm.

Pogo got a post card in the mail from his doctor, telling him that it's time to make his check up appointment.  We need to make sure his shots are up to date and then we can get his new "okay to travel" letter for the plane ride to Florida.  So, I guess we'll call this afternoon to make his appointment.

I don't know if I need a new letter from my doctor about having my portable oxygen with me on the plane.  I'll have to call to see how often I have to do this .  I still have my letter from last year.  You would think that one letter would suffice, but in today's world, one never knows.

Here's another really neat tee shirt that I found in one of my catalogues.  This one's message is oh so true.  You're never alone when you have a pet.

I found a cute joke on the web to share with you.  Hope this one gives you a few giggles.

Now I need to start working on my new blog book.  My coupon is only good for a few more days.  On that happy note, I'll take my leave.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

That having to update Notes is crazy. I get a small grant to help pay for my in-home help from the MS Society every year. Every year I have to send a new letter from my doctor saying that I still have MS. Don’t you think if they found a cure the MS Society would be the first to know?

Well, you had a day to survive without too much warmth, but now the furnace job is done. Must give a good feeling(apart from the bill to pay LOL!)
It is good to think ahead for you Florida vacation, better to have things done with in time.
Oh, I can THINK about a lot of things I liked to do(or that need to be done) but yes, the thinking about it already can make you tired. I suppose it also has to do a bit with the weather, we seem to function better with nicer temperatures and more sushine.
Yes, taxes have to be done again. I am glad I have my accountant who does all for me. I just have to send him all needed forms.
Still I too have to make one or two phonecalls to the tax office, to inform myself about a few things that might change because of the pension we are going to have. Well, I must kick myself of course in the but to do it this month.
Well, those are the lesser nice things in life.
Better to be busy with some planning for the garden, or things like that.
Time now to do a bit designing, so that i have something on my blog tomorrow.
Have a lovely day and week,
Hugs
