The First Day Of School Wasn't Exactly Impressive

September 7, 2016

Good morning.  Tis another gray, damp morning, but we need to enjoy this because I do believe the warmer (I mean hot!) temps are coming back tomorrow.  Well, at least that's what the weather forecast says.  We haven't had to water our plants in a few days now as we've had just enough rain each day to keep the grass and gardens happy.

Yesterday was a busy day doing .....well, whatever.  And then after that, I had me a nice little nap.  In the afternoon, Pogo and I went out to pick Jasmine up at school and take her home.  I asked her how her day was and she was not so very impressed.  This is her sixth year studying Chinese (as a language) and she says she can't retain very much of it.  I'm impressed that she can actually read and speak some of it.

Great granddaughter Alena's big first day did not turn out as well as she expected either.  In the morning, the school bus was running very late, so her mom had to finally drive her to her pre-school.  Both Mom and Grandma were late for work.  Hopefully, that big yellow bus was on time this morning.

Last night, I had no problem falling asleep.  Ahhh, blessed sleep!  It felt so good that I did not want to get up this morning.  Sometime today or tomorrow morning, Pogo and I have to make a quick run to the Post Office to get a box in the mail.  One of his little friends is having a birthday this weekend, and Pogo has a little something to share with his friend.  No, I won't spoil the fun and tell you what it is.

I do have a couple photos to share that I took out in the yard this week.  Sorry they are not so good, but sometimes when Pogo's leash is yanking on my wrist the camera shakes when I'm trying to take photos.  These are some of my red and pink Knock Out Roses.

I have a new quick page for you.  I used several of Kyras' kits to make this page.  All the kits are listed on my TOU.  Enjoy!

Here is your download link:

Now I think I'll catch up with a bit of my morning blog reading, and then maybe chase a few dust bunnies around.  Or something.  I'm sure I'll think of something.  haha.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,
Wow I love the quick page. I think that it is perfect for my little grand daughter Celeste. Her mama needs to send me some new pictures of her. She is growing up too fast. She will be two the day before Halloween! Just do not know where the time went.

Well Cisco got a double feeding last night. I fed him a little early, right before we had dinner and Jonathan fed him also. I said... did you just feed him and he said yes, and I said, I already fed him. Cisco was happy so that was ok... Little stinker wasn't about to turn down an extra meal lol.

So I heard on the news that this time next week we should be getting our first official cold front and it should be a significant one. Sounds good to me. The bats were really active last night. I can't see them but can hear them.

The knock out roses are so gorgeous. I sure miss having my roses. We have some here but they really didn't take off this year. I suppose that it was because it is their first year and what did bloom, the kids here would pull the buds off and the petals. Not that anyone cares obviously but me!

I slept really well last night but I had a cramp in my leg when I woke up this morning so I took a pain pill. Not a great way to start my morning as now I am sleepy so I think that I am going to take a trip over to my blog, update it and go lay back down. Have a wonderful day with Pogo... give him kisses for me! Love Beth and Cisco! Ahh and Cisco says thank you for his Birthday present in advance. I had to tell him to watch the mail!!

Good you had a real good sleep this night. After a decent and sound night of sleep you always feel much better, isn't it?
Your roses look wonderful! I surely wanted to have more roses in my garden, but somehow they have trouble growing well, apart from my climbing rose( which always has great flowers).
Perhaps I don;t have the right soil for them
Love the quickpage you made
Time for me to ramble along on my blog a bit now.
Have a fabulous day.
Hug

Love the Knock Out roses. Maybe I'll have to try and find a spot for a rose on our land next spring. I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to really "dig in" and start planting again. The rules make it clear that once planted in the ground it belongs to the park as a whole, which is fine with me. By the time I'd be leaving there I will no doubt be finished with wanting to plant anything again.

I can't imagine learning Chinese. I love language, but the ones that are the hardest for me are Russian and Hebrew and that's largely due to the different alphabet. I give her credit for even attempting it much less sticking it out for six years.

It's finally a nice day here with sunshine and everything, so will enjoy the outdoors today watching Kiersten play soccer. You have a good day my friend.

Your flower pictures are lovely to me!
I'm sure the rest of the school days will be much better.
I'm a retired teacher and I know how crazy those first days can be.
It wouldn't be fun to sit in an un-airconditioned (I'm not sure that is even a word)in this HEAT. Yesterday it was 95 degrees in the little town where my dear old school is. Our school was replaced by a brand new building about ten years ago. It is air conditioned but not all that well!

I've heard that Chinese is one of the most difficult (if not the most difficult!) languages to learn. In the 1960's, my hig school offered Russian and two of my very intelligent friends jmanaged to do very well in that course.

I want to say that Kyra's site is one of my favorites too - Beautiful work!
